Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
Well, I've been a huge fan of Crutchfield since I was in High School (1989) and installed my first radio. Now that my son is in High School and was wanting to install his first radio, I pointed him in the direction of Crutchfield and told him I would help him. I bragged to him that Crutchfield will make the whole process nice and neat. Well, we got this faceplate piece and it seemed solid at first glance. We made the recommended cuts and changed over all the pieces easy enough. We then tried a test fit and had to trim more. Test fit, trim, test fit, trim, test fit and trim. Still does not fit. The tabs and the supports that they are mounted to are completely inadequate and will never hold as is. After three hours of trying to make this work, it has become evident that I will have to come up with my own supports and mounting to make this work. The average Joe trying to install their first radio will never get it done with this faceplate. Everything else that was received was of quality and got the job done. Just disappointed in Crutchfield with this particular item. They should drop this line of product.
Pros: There does not seem to be any unless you accept from the start that you are going to have to craft your own support mechanism to keep it in place.
Cons: Doesn't fit, poor quality, inadequate support, inadequate clips that will never work as is
