Q
Is this a matte black or more of a shiny?

We have not received any answers from other customers on your question. I would recommend reaching out to an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They should be able to help answer your question.

Q
Will this kit accommodate an 8 inch screen?
ruben  Aug 30, 2020

A
It fits a 6" screen perfectly. I think you would need a triple din kit.

2010 Ford Fusion se. What does the original screen do after this is installed? Does it still function for certain purposes?

Hi, Kendrick! I am the owner of a 2010 Ford Fusion SEL, so I think I can competently answer your question. After replacing the head unit of your car, the original screen will still serve a few purposes, namely displaying the external temperature and the temperatures/fan speed of the driver and passenger climate controls. The original screen also displays media controls when I use one of the steering wheel buttons (e.g. It will flash "Next Track" when I hit the appropriate button on the steering wheel). It will no longer display radio station or track information, though; at least in my case this only is shown by the new head unit (Sony XAV-AX100). I hope this helps!

It's been a while since I installed one for a friend. But the original screen got stuck on saying that there is a DVD playing.

I'm looking to convert from the model with single din stock stereo to a double din navigation unit. Does this kit replace the stereo bezel to increase the opening to a double din to fit the navigation unit?

A
No don't work so just throw it
esmail  Dec 12, 2018

The kit I got has space for a double din. The strip of plastic can be clipped off allowing the use of a double din receiver. I am currently using a JVC double din with Apple CarPlay.

Q
Do they make the matching piece in red that goes around the shifter?
gregory  Oct 19, 2020

A
Not that I know of and the red looks real good...its a deeper red so it's hard to find exact matching colors but it's worth it..
andre  Oct 19, 2020
A
I don't think that red is available. But when I first ordered my dash kit, I thought I would use silver vinyl wrap to make it silver if that color wasn't available. Fortunately for me, silver was available. Vinyl wrap is the way to go if your color isn't available.

I have a 2012 ford fusion and wanting to change out the factory radio to a 7 inch touch screen with GPS and rear camera now my factory radio has sync and while in reverse it does beeps when something is behind you but no gps.... so would this work? Asking for help....
lisa  Apr 27, 2020
3 answers
A
It should, the only thing I'm unsure of is the beeping when in reverse...However, make sure you specify that you have the sync when ordering. You will need to retain steering wheel controls and have all the adaptors for plug and play to have all features work with your aftermarket stereo.
andre  Apr 30, 2020
A
You would lose the sync because as you said, it's a program that comes with your factory stereo. Unless your new stereo comes with it which is doubtful that it will. As far as the beeping I am not certain on that either way. My 2012 fusion didn't have the beeping. My guess would be that it would not since you're installing a backup camera. You'll be able to see what you're back up towards, you won't need a beep to tell you that you're close. But if it's something you want, it may be a feature that comes with you're stereo? Maybe even a setting that you can turn on and off? Depends which stereo you're getting I assume? Maybe ask this same question to people who have bought the same stereo you're wanting to get instead of just people who have bought the dash kit?
jared  Apr 27, 2020

I got this kit a few years ago, and installed a double din touchscreen with reverse camera. The dash kit was wonderful. One thing I will tell you, this is not a beginner install, there are several cables that need to be run and spliced to make it all work properly. After this install I consider myself a novice at best!! My care was a 2012 Ford Fusion.

Q
Do have recommendations for screens that fit this?
donnie  Jul 17, 2022
1 answer
A
Most radios would fit that dash kit and it would be easier to make a suggestion based off what features you'd like. If you could give one of our advisors a call at 800.324.9695 we can find a radio that would be a perfect match for that kit and does exactly what you want.

Q
Will this accommodate a 7 inch screen?
ruben  Aug 29, 2020

A
Yes, after taking measurements on my dash kit, I have confirmed that a 7" screen will fit using the proper accessories to mount your unit.
rick  Aug 30, 2020
A
I used this with a Kenwood double din DVD receiver, so assuming your 7" screen is a standard double din sized unit, it should work.
alex  Aug 29, 2020

Yes, I bought Pioneer AVH-W4400NEX, it works. I cannot put the frame on, but it looks fine.

Q
I have the climate control in my 2012 SEL. I'm wondering where the display will go for the temp readout. I'm assuming that the display is part of the actual stock stereo?
brian  Mar 07, 2014

I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: The climate display is actually separate from the receiver unit and will be retained in its same location. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat.

I have a 2005 F150. I do not have climate control. There is no read out for it on my truck. Sorry.

That part won't change, same place
john  Mar 10, 2014

The top LCD screen stays put and you just swap the climate controls over from your OEM Trim piece to the Kit.. Just be careful it is easy to nick the finish on the install kit.
george  Mar 10, 2014
A
Not sure about the 2012 model, and not sure what climate control exactly is, but if your referring to an external temperature display on the console that displays the clock, radio volume and active input (FM/AM/AUX...) then you might lose this if you use the PAC controller to keep your steering wheel controls. In my install the stock display console now only shows "DVD" and whatever, if any, the last steering wheel control pressed. There is another controller from iDataLink but I was not able to determine if that one would work with my 2011 Ford Fusion SE.
greg  Mar 10, 2014

hi brain, I installed a doubled din in my girlfriends car a 2010 ford fusion Se with sync and steering wheel controls, it doesn't have climate control but I would assume bc it's displayed on the lcd screen above the radio that is not removed so it (in theory) will work the same way. Now If u have navigation I would keep the stock radio and run a box converter for rca's. I begun to realize there is nothing like stock especially with the sync system working with radios, I believe, they haven't mastered working with sync
andrew  Mar 10, 2014

The factory display stays where it is. You just relocate it to the new dash kit. My fusion did not have digital climate controls or factory navigation. My temp did not display from my radio. It displayed on the mini display above the screen for the radio buttons. The only thing my display did was tell me what radio station I was on and give me the temp and compass. Hope this helps
