Received the product and it worked like a charm. Very pleased with the finished product. Easy installation with professional results.
Pros: Easy installation, matches existing interior pieces, factory look.
Add me to the small list of people who don't think the adapter brackets are all that great. Some of the roads around here are dirt or roughly paved, and the Eclipse rides a little hard. I looked at the installation, pondered, debated then wound up adapting the original, Metal brackets to my new Pioneer. Also, the first kit I received was missing the double din trim plate. Not Crutchfield's fault of course. They quickly sent one off to me. I would add another star for Crutchfield's great service. But this is a review of the Metra dash kit.
Pros: Nice looking and matching dash panel.
Cons: The radio brackets are flimsy. The trim plate rattles unless secured (glued). The white plastic snap clips from the original dash panel have to be transferred over. Easy enough but there was no mention of it in the instructions and the panel fell right out without them.
Came in right before Christmas, all intacked. I havent installed it yet, waiting to get an aftermarket radio. But all seems to be precise. Very pleased
Fits very nice, qualty is great. Installation simple.
Pros: Ease of installation.
I ordered this and it arrived a day earlier than anticipated. (Which is always nice) and it fit perfectly on my 07 Eclipse Spyder. Well done.
Pros: Good matching color for my vehicle. Fit perfectly. Easy Installation.
Has a nice finish. 1st kit I received was broken. This was not Metra's issue but, delayed the completion of the install.
Pros: Nicely made. Has a good finish that matches very well.
I thought it went together easily and fit perfectly. Even the pieces that had to go back on from the original plate snapped in with no problems.
Pros: Easy assembly. Good fit. Everything in the right place.
Cons: Can't get all my problems to fix this easily.
It arrived without being broken or scratched.....all the pieces were there....what else can you say?
Pros: Assembles easily and fits well
Cons: Not self assembling or self installing.
I had problems with the ISO mounts I attached to the head unit snapping into the faceplate. The mounts don't secure the head unit very well due to the fact that the tangs on the ISO mounts that are supposed to hold the unit in the faceplate don't extend out far enough or have enough outward spring tension to lock the head unit into place in the faceplate. I don't know; maybe I got a defective one.
I also tried to use the DIN cage to mount the radio, but the instructions are vague and do not supply a good enough picture of where the tabs are you're supposed to bend to hold the unit in place. One figure gives a "blowup" of where the tabs are you're supposed to bend, but the blowup is still too small to see what or where these tabs are on the DIN cage, and you can't really tell anything from the picture since it doesn't really look anything like the cage you have in your hand.
Pros: Looks nice
Cons: Doesn't secure radio in faceplate well
Fit perfectly. More sturdy than I expected. Excellent value for the price.
While this kit did what it was supposed too it was lacking information in the directions.
Pros: Fair price for what you get. On a 06 Eclipse this is a very large adapter for the price
Cons: The directions from Metra were lacking and misleading. I was installing a double Din head unit and the directions referenced the side plates for the single Din unit. The kit also came with some white plastic clips that I had no idea what they were used for until I seen the very same white clips on the factory face plate so I was able to figure they were used to secure the new Metra plate to the dash. I would have given 5 stars if the directions were better.
This was super easy toinstall and everything you need or want was included. The eclipse factory radio is so easy to uninstall which just makes it that much faster. Of course the crutchfield team goes above and beyond with customer service and documentation and really make you feel like you are a professional installer.
Pros: Easy to install, Customer Service, documents, well built, all accessories
Good quality and appearance. Fit perfectly and made install easy.
Pros: Fit perfect
Perfect fit, perfect color, everything worked just like it should.
Awesome fit. Made installation easy
easy to install and fit perfectly
Pros: easy to install
Pros: Easy to install
Look like oem
Pros: Easy to install
Very very impressed and pleased with this product. No marks or flaws of any kind. There are few things that are products that are delivered with pure perfection and this is one of them. Very impressed, Crutchfield.
Perfect Fit, looks like it came from the factory
Other kits used the oem radio brackets, this is not one of them. This radio only uses 6 clips on the mounting kit, like the oem. To take it out, just pull the face plate and remove the hazard switch. The plastic is not perfect, but it's acceptable. For double din unit you need to cut it, if you want to change to single din, you need to buy a new one. Overall, the kit is good, mitsubishi fails big time on the Eclipse, regarding security.
Pros: Looks good, fits pretty well.
Cons: Security, no bolts or anything, only clips on the face plate.
Metra 99-7010 In-dash Receiver Kit for the my 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse fit like a glove. couldn't ask for anything better.
Pros: Comes with a lot of different mounting brackets. fits both single and double DIN stereo's.
Cons: The only CON I can see is the dividing bracket you have to remove isn't perforated. you will need a small saw or angle cutters to remove for the double DIN stereo's.
Was not sure it would look stock-but was very surprised at how well it fit and looked. All details were covered down to new dash clips instead of moving the stock ones to the kit. VERY NICE.
Pros: Easy to use. Step by step instructions included
Cons: NONE Worked great!
Fit like it came from the factory. Install was done in less than an hour. Great product and great instructions. !!
Pros: Matched the car interior like the factory dash piece it replaced. Clips included, made the change oh so simple
Fits and looks just as good if not better than Oem! easy to install as well!
Pros: easy install and looks clean!
Cons: for double din you have to actually do minor cutting! A abit loose frame. (wont fall out)
Excellent product best price proper fit Crutchfield hit the bulls eye yet again
Pros: Fitment, quality materials, installation directions, lighting fast delivery
Good product, color matching the original, plastic border doesn't fit good.
Pros: Color matching, good fit.
Cons: Plastic border doesn't fit as expected.
Fit perfect looks great easy to
Pros: Ezy to use
Not a watertight seal, but perfectly acceptable and looks great. Besides, it gives me an extra shelf to store stuff.
This replacement panel for the stereo fit perfectly. The look is completely factory, and so easy to install. A must have for installation and Crutchfield's price is more than 1/3 less than a stereo store. (If they even know that it exist) . These guys know stereo as well as install parts. Crutchfield is #1.
Pros: If you need it and they make it come to crutchfield to get it. Price, knowledge, and trustworthy.
Just like factory to bad it did come with the little blue light at the bottom like the stock one had but other then that it looks factory stock.
I was totally impressed that this plastic kit came with my head unit. It was perfect for my
2007 Eclipse RS and installed without a hitch. Hint: be sure to remove the white clips from
the back of your old one as you will need to install them onto this new unit before setting it
back into the dash. Otherwise the dash plastics won't "snap" or lock into place. Probably
obvious for a lot of you, but I'm a newbie, having only installed about ten head units.
Awesome product and it works perfectly. I also appreciate the new "cubby" in which I can
store my phone while driving!
It's very easy to install and fits perfectly. However, I'm so glad this was free. I installed a single DIN head unit and the tray underneath can have a gap. It should lock securely in one spot. Plus you can see the notches that are left for installation of a different type of head unit.
These are fairly minor issues and somewhat understandable considering how many different head units there are available.
same color as original equipment.
easy install. perfect fit. includes double din and single din options.
This gives a good look to your vehicle for a double or single din. I bought
the pioneer premier f90bt unit and it's shiny black which kind of throws off
the graphite grey that this product is colored in. But i guess overall it's ok
and applicable and gives the factory look but if they had made this in in all
black then i would have loved this unit much more better. But overall this
piece set looks better than the factory one.
Like the title says, this one is better than the one that comes with the car. It doesn't retain fingerprints and it matches the interior better (same color as the hazard switch).
This is a must buy when replacing your stock system,it's easy to install and the outcome is so clean looking, no need to paint,The best thing about it is it comes out of the box ready to install.
At Crutchfield, you'll get detailed, accurate information that's hard to find elsewhere. That's because we have our own in-house Product Research team. They verify what’s in the box, check the owner's manual, and record dimensions, features and specs. We stay on top of new products and technologies to help people make informed choices.
It was grey a little darker then the the stock color but pretty close. [ CLAYTON Sep 03, 2015 ]
Hey Scott, I have this currently in my eclipse, I popped out he middle bar and have a radio in there which is tall enough to take up both slots. To answer your question, it's like a very dark charcoal grey. I have a black interior and I think it looks great. The only other thing is that it covers up the blue led on the bottom, which points down towards where the gearshift is. Other than that it blends seamlessly. Hope this helps, JB [ John Sep 03, 2015 ]
Its more of a dark greyish color definitely not black! [ SAAGAR Sep 03, 2015 ]
