perfect fit easily mounted to Pioneer FH-X720BT no issues
Pros: simple easy instructions put in a double din and it hasn't budged. no problems and well fitted to dash.
Great fit for a built in appearance of my new Stereo.
Pros: Easy installation.
Cons: Flat charcoal color did not match my MX-5. A light coat of Satin Dark Night Valspar spray paint did the trick.
perfect fit, looks factory
Pros: installed single din radio and extra storage very handy
I have used 2 of these kits within the last month, both fit well and looked very similar to the OEM. The 2011 Tacoma was right on. The 2006 Miata was not the quality of the flat black of OEM. Overall a good fit.
Pros: Reasonably priced and intuitive installation.
Cons: Instructions were vague, but for the mechanically inclined, it all worked out.
Fits great, the instructions are easy to follow.
Pros: Looks OEM, maybe better!
Easy install. Looks perfect.
This kit was exactly what I needed to install a new single din head unit. Fit and finish exactly matched the original materials in my vehicle. Good quality.
Pros: matched vehicle finish
Perfect fit in my MX-5...Looks factory OEM!
Pros: Easy install...
Excellent fit and finish. Easy to install.
Pros: Fit and finish is so muck better than the competitor product. Looks OE.
Cons: None that I could see.
I was completely satisfied with this product. It fit into my NC perfectly. Installation was simple; I didn't even need instructions.
Pros: A perfect fit. The design flows well with the rest of the dash.
Cons: The very top of the unit doesn't seem to clip in properly. However, you can't tell unless you really look closely.
Fit perfectly. 2006 MIATA
Had to fiddle with the alignment of the stereo to the bracket face but other than that, it worked out pretty well.
Pros: Once finished it looked good
Cons: alignment of the stereo to the front panel took a bit of time to get it right.
The Main plate fits onto the car well, but the asymmetric HU cover leaves enough space to see under the HU. The plastic single din HU holders are a bit weak and I had to support the HU with a stack of felt on top of the cubby. The finishing face plates do not have a tight snap to them and the overall look is somewhat "NOT" factory looking. Using felt pads and a bit of Hush Mat helps with the above issues, but took me an extra hour before I was happy with the install.
Looks good. Easy installation. Almost looks like a factory installation.
Pros: Great color match with car interior. Nice price compared to Brand - X (local store).
Cons: None really.
Did the double din install. Suggest the use of glue on the 'big black wings' for the double install. A preventative approach to keep squeaks and creaks to zero.
Pros: Fit like a glove. Looks oem
Amazing kit! Fit is amazing and works well.
Pros: Fits perfectly. Easy to install.
Cons: The plastic is slightly more matte than the other plastic around it. If I didn't install it myself, I wouldn't have even noticed.
Very quick processed order , product arrived before expected time. Install and instructions were very clear and very easy to install. Thanks for service and would always recommend
Pros: Product was shipped to my home in fast time. Metro kit had all the correct componets to complete the install
3rd one of these I have used on my third Miata. Good quality, matches interior and works.
Pros: Fit, finish and function
Looks like it has always been there. No difference in color and everything works great
Easy to install and matches the trim well. The most challenging part of installing this is salvaging the clips from the factory trim kit.
Kit provides everything you need to install double DIN receiver. Instructions are clear (once you find all the appropriate bolts and screws to remove). However, trim piece surrounding receiver rattles, and needs something to make it a tighter fit. This isn't a big deal, but it is one additional step.
Pros: Complete kit Good instructions
Cons: Trim piece rattles
Absolutely perfect fit in my wife's Mazda MX-5 Miata 2006. Matched the existing cabin colors perfectly. Very happy.
Pros: Fit, and color match perfect.
It came free with my stereo. To be fair it has been in two Mx5s the first was totaled. But the bracket that holds in the radio I cannot get to stay flush, I have to push in once a day. It is not horrible, but its not perfect either.
Fits and works Great!
Excellent. Fits like a glove.
Pros: Comes in dull black & when cleaned matches perfectly.
Fit great and looks factory!
Pros: Fit, look, function
From fast shipping to customer service and great products from Crutchfield, I could not be happier. I just wish I had more money to buy more items.
Pros: Great products, great service and fast shipping
The in-dash kit works great and looks factory installed.
Pros: price, fit, match
Cons: None that I can think of.
A perfect fit, and perfectly matched. Only wish there were more illustrations- had trouble figuring out how things fit together. But when they did fit together, they fit perfectly!
Pros: Exact match in color. fit, dimensions
Cons: Could use more illustrations on how things fit.
Looks like factory install!! I have never installed a car stereo in my life until today. My Sony unit fit perfect in this kit and best of all......it was FREE!!! It doesn't get any better than that. Thank you Crutchfield.
Pros: Looks Great and FREE!!!
Great match. Fit like a glove.
Pros: Looks great, fit great, I like the idea that I can use my controls.
Makes the installation look as good as factory installed.
Fits perfectly, easy to install, and gives me an extra storage slot that's handy. Looks good.
Can't beat it, free and fits my Miata perfectly, thanks Crutchfield!!
Fits as it should. Looks factory.
Fit and finish are good, but head unit mounting is below average. Not well supported - had to cobble my own to give head unit enough support.
Pros: Looks good after install.
Cons: Not a "complete" kit - to my measure. Needs better head unit support.
Easy install with the kit. Had one broken tab, (due I guess to shipping damage), but glued it and no problems. As usual Crutchfield comes through with easy to use kits and directions.
Looks great fits great.
Looks like factory install, fit is precise. No problems removing old unit or installing dash kit and Kenwood DDX419.
this is a perfect replacement for the oem radio panel. installed it with Pioneer AVH-P3400BH and it's a very professional looking installation. fits perfectly and instructions were easy to follow.
Pros: perfect fit. professional looking
Very impressed. Looks like factory. Made installation a breeze. Everything fit perfectly
Pros: Looks like factory. Great fit
Prodcut worked great. Would have been nice to have more holes to mount radio into on the side brakets. The Radio sticks out a bit.
black matches black! as does the actual visual patterns
This worked well on my 2008 Miata installation of a single-DIN JVC KDA-815.
Color and fit are great - it looks like a factory part. Fit was very precise
and snapped into place securely.
It would be nice if the cubbyhole compartment under the single-DIN slot were
more of a matte finish to exactly match the face, but I'm sure this is a stock
compartment used on kits for several vehicles. The interior of the cubbyhole is
slightly darker and glossier. It would also be nice if the interior had a
non-skid surface, but this could be fixed with some adhesive pads.
Looks great in the car, matches up with the factory plastic well.
The one negative I can think of is that it took me several tries to choose which
holes to use to get the perfect angle of the head unit. (Clarion CX609). Once I
got that right everything else went well. One suggestion I would make is to put
the outer trim ring on as you are adjusting the angle and depth of the head unit.
Had to do a tiny bit of trimming where I removed the single din middle bar, the
plastic did not break perfectly cleanly.
Excellent product, installation instructions need to indicate size of blind bolt on left side of OEM unit. (10mm). Once this bolt is removed, installation is easy and concise. Bolt will not be re-installed.
This is exactly what you want from a dash kit. Looks like it came from the
factory instead of home installed!
The overall fit and finish of the dash-kit itself in my 2008 PRHT Miata was fine. The Crutchfield MasterSheet for installation was correct with the exception that the 2008s with the factory stereo (non-Bose) don't appear to have the additional bolt that requires removal of the panel under the steering wheel.
However, my Alpine Alpine iDA-X100 (using the mounting sleeve that comes with it) sat far too deep in the top opening. This fit was entirely unacceptable, and it was impossible to get any of the trim pieces to fit well enough. Crutchfield was able to provide a spacer that set the head unit approximately 1/2" further out than it does normally. This provided a perfect fit. If the spacer is unavailable, you could simply epoxy the sleeve to the tabs under the top hole, allowing for it to stick out further first. Definitely try the fit on this before you head out to take the car apart.
The cubby provided for under a single height head unit is almost entirely useless, but that's not a terrible surprise. It's a real estate situation.
I've now got a great iPod interface with a great look to the install. And great customer service from Crutchfield.
This kit looks great in my '07 Miata. I used it to install my new Pioneer FH-
P8000BT double DIN receiver. It looks fantastic. The color of the faceplate
matches the surrounding factory parts. Fit and finish is excellent.
The mount doesn't seem to be as strong as the factory mount but I haven't
experienced any problems with the unit shifting.
