About the Metra 99-7803 Dash and Wiring Kit

Jon Paul
Your 2003-2007 Honda Accord is a great car, but the console design makes it difficult to upgrade the factory radio. Metra's dash and wiring kit replaces the factory radio panel, allowing you to install an aftermarket DIN-sized (2" tall) or double-DIN (4" tall) receiver in the Accord's dash panel. It retains all heating, ventilation, and air conditioning controls, in vehicles with either single- or dual-zone controls.

The kit includes all climate controls found in the Accord, and its gray finish is a perfect match for the color, texture, and contours of your dash. The LCD display and all controls on the adapter are backlit when you turn your headlights on, and you can adjust the color to your tastes. All factory functions are retained. Warranty: 1 year.

Notes: The package includes a harness that plugs directly from your Honda into the Axxess ASWC adapter (not included), allowing you to retain your steering wheel audio controls with a new car stereo. For the display backlighting to work with the headlights, the adapter's illumination wire must be connected to the new car stereo's illumination wire.

Product Research

Features

Overview: The Metra 99-7803G OEM Integration Kit allows you to replace your 2003-2007 Honda Accord's factory radio with an aftermarket head unit to improve the overall sound quality of your car audio system. The OEM Integration Kit features a scratch-resistant matte black finish and fits aftermarket Single-DIN or Double-DIN head units. The 99-7803G retains your factory steering wheel controls with the addition of the Axxess Steering Wheel Control Interface (120ASWC1, sold separately). Your vehicle's entire climate control panel is integrated into the Metra 99-7803G; including an LCD screen (single and dual climate control is retained).

Replacement Pocket: The door on the factory pocket below the radio will not function properly with this new OEM Integration Kit installed. As an alternate solution, Metra offers the 88-00-7803 replacement pocket (1208807803, sold separately).

Q
The wire harness kit that comes with it is for what ? I see a 3mm audio cable as part of harness wondering what is for before I purchase.

A
the harness is to attach to head unit and the 3mm cable is for steering wheel controls if so equipped.

I Believe that cable went to the steering wheel control so u would plug that cable into the microphone for speaking into the hands free phone. I didn't like the Metra it's temperature was never accurate. Metra told I had to take it out of the dash to use the port in the back of the console. Hook it up to my computer then up grade the system. Once it was out of warranty there was nothing they wanted to do to help. Never got the temp to work properly

ITs for the sterring wheel controls

If I recall, it goes into the back of the receiver, perhaps for the steering wheel controls; I would have to pull it out to be sure. I also used a Maestro unit to enhance the steering wheel controls. It also has the 3mm plug.

That jack is for using the Metra steering wheel control unit (optional). The fit is mediocre and the climate controls suck (say goodbye to automatic mode - it is functionally useless) but it is pretty much the only decent looking option for our cars.

Q
I have an 07 Accord. I noticed that the picture shows an automatic ac, dual zone display and controls. Will this kit work on non-auto system? What happens to the dual controls on cars with single manual controls?

You will want to contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat to discuss compatibility with your factory system. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and see if this will integrate. If it does not, then they will also be able to discuss other options with you.

The part that displays the amount of heat and where the air is coming from should light up. The buttons that adjust those features don't light up. Hope this helps. If not, let me know.

The new digital heat/AC display is supposed to light up. I do not recall specifically if there is an illumination wire but, when I connected all of the wires as stated in the instructions it worked perfectly. Try disconnecting everything and reconnecting again and ensure all connections are good.
