Metra's integration adapter allows you to install an aftermarket DIN-sized (2" tall) receiver in the Accord's dash panel, while maintaining all heating, ventilation, and air conditioning controls. The adapter includes all climate controls found in the Accord, and it's a perfect match for the color, texture, and contours of your dash. All controls on the adapter are backlit for night driving, and all factory functions are retained. Warranty: 1 year. I delayed installing a new head unit in my 2005 Honda Accord because I didn't know that it was possible to install a separate head unit into the integrated radio and air controls that Honda uses. But this piece made it all possible and so easy. The installation was a breeze and I had to pat myself on the back when I had installed it myself. Pros: ease of installation, clean lines, perfect fit Cons: none that I can note. Was this review helpful? Yes | No 5 out of 5 Honda Accord Factory Integration Adapter Written By steve a, staten island new york on Thursday, January 26, 2012 product was wonderful. easy to instal and worked flawlessly. Pros: easy of instal and great price Cons: none Was this review helpful? Yes | No 2 out of 5 Meh Written By Erik, Indiana on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 I would recommend this over the free install adapter but it still doesn't feel and look like an upgrade. I wish that this was built better and looked better, but this is the best option offered by Crutchfield. Pros: It allows for a nicer look in the vehicle than taking up the cubby underneath. Cons: It doesn't match the vehicle very well. The plastic just doesn't have the right color and texture. The illumination on this is also pretty dim compared to the factory climate controls. There is a delay when adjusting the climate controls before the vehicle responds. 1 out of 1 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? Yes | No 5 out of 5 Fantastic Product Written By Al, North Myrtle Beach, SC on Thursday, October 13, 2011 I'm very pleased with this product. I delayed purchasing it for over a year although my factory CD player in my Honda stopped working because based on other reviews I read, it seemed like the product was difficult to install and would look cheap. Now that it's installed and I'm enjoying music in my car again, I regret waiting. The console looks sleek and clean (better than the factory console in my opinion). The climate controls function as normal and take seconds to program in one easy step. The wire connector is easy to identify and plug in as well. Whatever reason you have for replacing your factory unit, don't delay. This unit is a great replacement. 1 out of 1 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? Yes | No 4 out of 5 Works Written By , Loma Linda, CA on Sunday, September 18, 2011 Despite all the negative reviews, it works fine, with one or two noticeable things "off." There is a bit of a lag when you push buttons and/or start the fan. The Illumination seems like it should be brighter, but still works fine. As far as looks go, it matches the dash perfectly and fits nice and snug. It houses my aftermarket stereo nicely. It does it's job! So if you are OK with sacrificing the instant response time of the OEM unit for a nicer, aftermarket radio with more options, then this is a very nice solution. Much better than the pocket adapter. I'm happy enough. Was this review helpful? Yes | No 3 out of 5 Honda Accord Factory Integration Adapter Written By keith, Morrilton, AR on Saturday, September 10, 2011 It works but it has a mind of its own. Theres a lag time when the buttons are pushed. Was this review helpful? Yes | No 3 out of 5 Cheap AC controls with a delay Written By Ivan, Pittsburgh, PA on Monday, July 11, 2011 This item fits perfectly. I'll give them that. The fan and temp controls could be a lot better. There is a sticker on each, which having it silkscreened or directly printed would have been more OEM looking. The backlighting could be better too. There is a delay when you start up the car and when you do certain things with the faceplate. It's not a deal breaker, but be ready for a change. The controls are different. If you hit the defrost windshield and feet button, the AC comes on now by default, where before it wouldn't. Was this review helpful? Yes | No 2 out of 5 Honda Accord Factory Integration Adapter Written By john, Charlotte, NC on Saturday, June 11, 2011 I installed this in mid-May in my 2003 LX. My initial thoughts were that of others - it felt cheaper than the original parts and the illumination was a bit strange, but it worked. Installation was quick and easy, and the fit appeared proper - until the NC summer set in. Unfortunately, it appears the NC heat has done this one in. It fits a bit tight - appears almost too wide - and it bows in the middle, particularly late in the day, and pops the climate control dials off. I could deal with the climate controls popping off, since they would still work - but today it finally bit the dust. The control dials will no longer pop back on all the way, and it appears that the fan speed dial has quit working altogether. I tried disassembling the factory part, to see if the dials could easily be grafted over, but they are soldered onto the board in multiple places and not easily removed. I'm planning on sending back the Metra kit and going for the lower-pocket option. 2 out of 2 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? Yes | No 4 out of 5 A couple of unknowns Written By Jim, Ft. Lupton, CO on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 Installation was a breeze. Between the install guide and the Crutchfield Master sheet, I had zero problems. The illumination is a little dim. the blower and temp knobs look like they should light up but they don't. Once the unit is installed and the power is back on, you have to push and hold the AC button for 5 seconds to program the controls. This worked fine, but once it was complete I find out that when the defrost is button is pushed the AC comes on. This is OK part of the year, but could get pretty cold in the winter. It is not the way the OE unit functioned. This adapter could use a little refining. I would like to have known this before hand. Was this review helpful? Yes | No 4 out of 5 A nice replacement Written By CovaC8, El Cajon, CA on Thursday, May 12, 2011 This is a great replacement for the OEM dash assembly and fits in great except for a few things. The alignment and the flow of the dashboard "lines" isn't 100% but you really have to pay attention to that aspect to really notice it. Also the knobs have a different feel to them and the buttons are larger than stock. The plastic is very close in color but the roughness of it is a little off. Screwing in the bottom two screws was a bit of a pain to do....you'll see what I mean when you get to that part. But those two screws aren't absolutely necessary anyways. The top three are more important as well as the side clips. Overall, it's a great alternative to installing a head unit in the storage pocket area but it's a bit overpriced. Also, I wouldn't recommend this to the perfectionist but it'll do for the someone who can get used to a few minor imperfections. Was this review helpful?
