Q
Will this help with alternator whine coming through my speakers?
jonas  Nov 01, 2023

A
Greetings Jonas. Thank you for your question. Depends what device is powering the speakers. If all you have is a stereo and speakers, this can help with noise generated by the power line to the stereo. If you have an amplifier running your speakers, no. This is not the right solution. If your noise is variable with the revolutions of your engine/alternator you have a wiring issue. You would want a technician to look at.

Just installed an Alpine Hu in my car, when I switch source I get a loud pop sound through my speakers. I used the prewired coonection from Crutchfield to install the Alpine Hu. Is this what I need to eliminate the loud pop?

Q
Can this be used with a 24v audio system?
dwayne  Apr 17, 2021
1 answer
A
It is designed for a 12V system. It may work on a 24V system since it is drawing half the amperage of a 12V system. I have seen similar filters used in entertainment systems in aircraft (24V) and cleaned up the hissing noise in the speakers.
