Keep your steering wheel audio controls

Installation is a straightforward process. You usually have to connect a couple of wires to the Crutchfield-supplied harness, then plug a connector on this adapter into a Toyota plug, and the adapter will automatically recognize your Toyota or Lexus. Once connected, the adapter's memory retains its programming even if battery power is interrupted. A USB slot allows you to keep the ASWC-TOY-LEX current when updates become available. Warranty: 1 year.

Wiring Advisory: You won't have to splice wires on your vehicle, as this interface plugs right into your car. You will have to connect switched power (12-volt ACC) and ground to the harness/interface you're using to connect your new car stereo. Axxess does provide custom wiring instructions for all confirmed compatible vehicles on their website.

Head Unit Compatibility: The Axxess ASWC-TOY-LEX steering wheel control interface supports popular brands of aftermarket head units including Alpine, Boss, Clarion, Dual, Jensen, JVC, Kenwood, Pioneer, Sony and others. The aftermarket head unit must have a SWC (Steering Wheel Control) 3.5mm input or steering wheel remote control input wire (blue/yellow).

Auto Detection: The Axxess steering wheel control interface has the ability to auto-detect your Toyota or Lexus vehicle and aftermarket radio. It will preset the steering wheel controls to the aftermarket radio automatically, so no programming is required.

LED Feedback: The steering wheel control interface features an integrated LED to indicate programming status.

Non-Volatile Memory: The Axxess ASWC-TOY-LEX has a non-volatile memory, which means the steering wheel control interface will remember the programming even if the device is disconnected from your vehicle.

Wiring: In addition to the two molex connectors which will plug into your vehicle's factory wiring, you will need to hardwire three wires of the ASWC-TOY-LEX to your vehicle. Connect the black wire to ground and the two red wires to accessory power.

2001 Toyota Sienna van I installed the Axxess ASWC-TOY-LEX. There is no place to plug the smaller plug in and I can only get the volume buttons to work on the steering wheel. Is there a hidden plug in the van I'm not seeing? Or do I have to cut the harness in the van?
