Compatibility: The AX-ADFD02 must be used with the Axxess AX-ADBOX1 or AX-ADBOX2 Auto-Detect System Interface
(sold separately) when replacing your factory radio with an aftermarket stereo
in a Ford Explorer (2012-up), Fiesta (2011-up), or Focus (2012-up); as of

Ford SYNC Retention: In conjunction with the Axxess
Auto-Detect System Interface (sold separately), the AX-ADFD02 helps to retain
all functions of the Ford SYNC system; including Voice Recognition Music Search,
USB, iPod, Auxiliary Input, Bluetooth Phone & Audio Streaming, Turn-by-Turn
Navigation, 911 Assist, and Vehicle Health Report. To retain theses features
your aftermarket head unit must be equipped with a rear-panel AUX input
(RCA-to-3.5mm adapter may required, sold separately).
Factory Amplified/Non-Amplified Compatible: The Axxess
AX-ADFD02 can be used in vehicles with or without factory amplifiers, including
digital amplified systems found in Ford vehicles (such as Sony/THX). Both
balance & fade control are retained when used with AX-ADBOX1 interface (sold
separately). The AX-ADBOX2 interface (sold separately) does not retain fader in
vehicle's with factory digital amplifier.
R.A.P (Retained Accessory Power): The ignition power source
of many vehicles keeps the radio on until one of the doors is opened. This
feature is called the R.A.P. (retained accessory power). The AX-ADFD02, along
with the Axxess Auto-Detect System Interface (sold separately) is designed to
retain this feature.
Optional Steering Wheel Control Interface: The AX-ADFD02
features a right-angle 3.5mm connector that lets you keep your vehicle's OEM
steering wheel controls via the optional Axxess Steering Wheel Control Interface
22-/12-Pin to 24-/16-Pin Harness: The AX-ADFD02 Ford harness
is fitted with a 22-pin connector which plugs into the Axxess Auto-Detect System
Interface (sold separately), a 12-pin connector that plugs into the Axxess
Steering Wheel Control Interface (sold separately), a 24-pin connector and
16-pin connector which plugs into your Ford vehicle's factory radio harness.
There is also two sets of RCA cables that will need to be connected to the
rear-panel AUX input of your aftermarket head unit (only one set will be used
based on whether your vehicle has SYNC system or Aux input). In addition, 8
bare wire leads will need to be hardwired to your vehicle's wiring and
aftermarket radio harness.

Note: In addition, the Axxess Auto-Detect System Interface
(sold separately) includes a 16-pin harness which connects between the
interface module and your aftermarket receiver. These connections will need
to be crimped or soldered together.
