 Add Bluetooth® to your vehicle

 Add Bluetooth® to your vehicle

This harness works with a Parrot hands-free Bluetooth kit to connect your compatible phone to your car's factory stereo system. Find the correct harness for your vehicle, then pick one of these Parrot kits: Parrot MKi9200, Parrot MKi9100, Parrot CK3100, or Parrot CK3000. You're on your way to enjoying hands-free calling in your car.

Remove the plug from the back of your factory radio. The Ford Bluetooth Wiring T-harness plugs into that factory plug, then provides a connection to your factory radio and the Bluetooth kit. Reinstall the factory radio and mount the Bluetooth kit, and you're ready to go. When your cell phone rings, your radio or CD player is muted automatically, and the sound from your phone comes through your front speakers. Warranty: 1 year.

Please enter your vehicle information or call an Advisor at 1-888-955-6000 to find out if this model is compatible with your vehicle.

Q
Can you listen to your own music on your iPhone connected thru the bluetooth in the car stereo or just calls?? If you receive a call there is no mic in the car so it's just picking up your voice thru your phone mic???
nina  Feb 13, 2014

A
Absolutely, as long as the Bluetooth kit you are hooking up supports it (which 99% do).
william  Mar 17, 2014
A
The answer would depend on the Bluetooth system you are installing. The wiring harness has nothing to do with the capability of your phone to push music via Bluetooth or if your Bluetooth system has a microphone built in, or uses your phones mic. This harness just simplifies the physical connection of your new stereo/Bluetooth system to your Ford Explorer. What system are you installing?
john  Feb 15, 2014
A
This is merely a coupling device, so on it's own no. However. if you purchase this with a parrot mki9100 then yes you can. This is just an adapter cable to interface a new device into a factory radio. The mki9100 comes with a microphone and it works beautifully with the factory stereo.
