Product Research
Features
Overview: The Spyclops DVR-8960 is an 8-channel security DVR (digital video recorder) can record audio and video from up to 8 attached cameras. It has two SATA ports, each with upgraded Western Digital 500 GB SATA HDDs installed (1 TB total storage) for hours of recording time. The system HDD can be upgraded to support up to 4 TB of storage. The DVR-8960 includes a wireless remote control.
Operating System: The DVR has an embedded Linux operating system. An optical mouse is included for controlling the system via its graphical user interface. You can also control the system using the front panel buttons, or the included wireless remote. No monitor is included, however, there are HDMI and VGA outputs provided for connecting the DVR to a TV or computer monitor.
Recording Quality: The DVR-8960 uses H.264 video and ADPCM audio compression. With each channel, you can choose to record in 960H (960 x 480), D1 (720 x 480) or CIF (360 x 240) resolution at up to 30 frames per second. 960H is a step-up from D1 resolution. D1 produces a lower quality image and stretches the image, while 960H is a higher quality image with no image distortion.
Network Setup: The DVR can be connected to your home network for remote monitoring. Using the free EseeNet+ app, you can remotely view your system from any web browser, iPhone, iPad, or Android device. EseeNet+ is available for iPhone/iPad with iOS 4.3 or later, and Android devices with version 2.3 and up.
Live Monitoring: You can monitor the DVR's connected cameras in real time from a TV or computer monitor. The video quality during monitoring is 960H (960 x 480). You can choose to display one channel at a time, a 2 x 2 grid of four channels at once, or a 3 x 3 grid of all 8 channels at once.
Backup: Video and audio stored in the DVR can be easily and quickly backed up using a USB drive (flash drive, portable HDD, or disk burner). Two USB ports are included on the rear panel--one for the included mouse, and one for a USB backup drive.
Notifications: The DVR can be configured to send an email notification when certain events take place. In the Video Setup menu, you can set up the unit to start recording and send you an email, when motion is detected on a camera, if there is video loss (camera failure or is unplugged), or video cover (camera is covered up).
Sensor Trigger Alarm: You can add sensors that can trigger alarms on the DVR, causing the unit to record specific channels for approximately 30 seconds. There are 4 alarm inputs and 2 outputs, with RS485 ports on the rear panel. The duration of the alarm buzzer can be set between 1 and 10 seconds.
