Mazda Power Antenna Relay

Overview

Enables your new receiver to operate the factory OEM power antenna. Connects to the wiring inside your dash. Simply splice the color-coded wires on this relay to the wires from your aftermarket radio and your Crutchfield receiver wire harness. (You can connect the relay to your new receiver on your work bench or kitchen table. Soldering is best, crimping is also very popular — see "Accessories").

1991 Mazda RX7
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Reading this review means you are almost certainly trying to install an after market deck into a Mazda with a power antenna. This is my 3rd FC/ 2d generation RX-7 and I've wired none of them alike. Same goes for this. The Internet is most useful, but I ended up using trial and error to ultimately wire everything to make the antenna work. I also am using a media receiver with no CD player (streaming/mp3/aux/USB), so the relay may not have been getting the signal to retract the antenna. I'm left with up for ON and down for OFF. I declared victory and moved on.

Pros: Pre-installed wires. Provided wiring instructions.

Cons: No wire diagram fits every installation, unfortunately

I didn't really think that I needed this but I installed it any way and my antenna works great but I don't know if it would work without. but not taking any chances.
