Product Research

Features

Mitsubishi Data Bus Interface:The MITO-02 Mitsubishi Data Bus Interface is designed specifically for select Mitsubishi vehicles with OEM factory installed Rockford Fosgate audio systems when installing an aftermarket headunit in the vehicle. The OEM factory installed Rockford Fosgate audio system uses a digital signal to turn on the factory installed amp in select Mitsubishi cars. The MITO-02 supplies that digital signal to turn the factory amplifier on. When installing an aftermarket radio that has navigation built-in, the MITO-02 can supply VSS (Vehicle Speed Sense), Parking Brake, and Reverse functions. However, Reverse is not available on manual transmission vehicles.

Note: The aftermarket radio must have two pair of preamp outputs in order to properly interface. If it does not, you will need a line output converter.

Vehicle Compatibility: Currently the MITO-02 is compatible with the following Mitsubishi vehicles equipped with an OEM factory installed Rockford Fosgate audio system.

  • 2008-2013 Lancer
  • 2007-2013 Outlander
  • 2011-2013 Outlander Sport

Level Adjustment: There are two pentiometers next to the Molex plug on the MITO-02 interface. The one closest to the Molex connector is the subwoofer level control and the other is the front door speaker level control. Using a small blade screwdriver you can turn the potentiometer of the speaker you want to adjust either clockwise (to make it louder) or counterclockwise (to lower the volume).

Q
I have the rockford fosgate package on my 09 Lancer. I bought a sizxnav double-din head unit which allows for a plug for the factory subwoofer, but mine doesn't seem to have that. if I buy this will it let me use the sub?
liam  Mar 06, 2024

A
The Axxess MITO-02 Wiring interface does retain the use of the factory Rockford Fosgate amplifier powering your speakers and subwoofer, Liam. The interface requires front and rear preamp output RCAs on your receiver, if you do not have front and rear preamp outputs a line output converter is required.

Q
Hello -- do I need this full harness for a Lancer with Rockford amp if I don't care about the data bus interface? I only want to be able to hear my cheap aftermarket stereo through the stock Lancer speakers. Is there a cheaper harness that will simply let me connect? Thanks.

A
You will want to contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat to discuss compatibility with your factory system. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and see if this will integrate. If it does not, then they will also be able to discuss other options with you.

If you are replacing Mitsubishi OEM Radio & using the same Rockford Fosgate Original Amplifier that came from Mitsubishi, then it should work.

Q
I installed this in my 2010 Lancer Ralliart with the Rockford Fosgate system. Everything hooked up fine, wire colors matched up. Everything worked fine for awhile, but now the radio does not turn off with the ignition as it did before. I now have to manually turn off the head unit. Any ideas what it could be?
