About the Axxess GMOS-LAN-01 Wiring Interface

Ken Nail
Metra's GMOS-LAN-01 wiring interface lets you replace the factory radio in select OnStar-equipped 2006-up GM vehicles using the existing wiring and connectors. Even if you don't subscribe to OnStar, you'll need this interface to connect an aftermarket stereo.

Metra's GMOS-LAN-01 wiring interface lets you replace the factory radio in select OnStar-equipped 2006-up GM vehicles using the existing wiring and connectors. Even if you don't subscribe to OnStar, you'll need this interface to connect an aftermarket stereo.

Hook the GMOS-LAN-01 to your aftermarket radio, mount the module, and plug it into the existing factory plug. Get the great sound you want, and keep all important safety features intact. And you can adjust volume settings for OnStar as well as the safety chimes.

Also, once you turn off the ignition in these GM vehicles, the radio continues to play until you open the door. This interface maintains that function with your new aftermarket radio. This interface gives you convenient plug-in connections for the Axxess steering wheel control adapter (not included) that works with most aftermarket stereos – that means less wiring work for you.

This interface is compatible with select 2006-and up GMC and Chevrolet vehicles. If you haven't done so already, please enter your vehicle information or call an Advisor at 1-888-955-6000 to find out if this item is compatible with your vehicle. Warranty: 1 year.

Note: The GMOS-LAN-01 will not work with Bose systems.

Features

Overview: When replacing your factory radio, the Metra GMOS-LAN-01 is designed to retain the factory OnStar emergency services system, the warning chimes, and factory back-up camera that would both be lost when the factory radio is removed.

Applications: The GMOS-LAN-01 is compatible with the following GM vehicles from 2006-2014.

Model Make Year
Buick Enclave 2008-2012
Lucerne 2006-2011
Cadillac Escalade 2007-2012
DTS 2006-2010
SRX 2007-2009

Amplified & Non-Amplified Systems: The GMOS-LAN-01 is designed to work in primarily non-amplified factory systems. It will however retain the factory amplifier in 2012-2014 Chevy Captiva vehicles.

Chime Volume Adjustment: The GMOS-LAN-01 interface features potentiometer located on the 10 pin harness of the module, to adjust the chime volume of your vehicle. Rotate clockwise to make the chime louder and counterclockwise to make the chime softer.

Note: Not suitable for use with aftermarket amp powering the front & rear speaker channels. When using this interface with an aftermarket amp for the front & rear speakers (sub amp is ok), you will lose your vehicle's factory chimes because audio is passing through the aftermarket amp instead of the interface.

OEM Steering Wheel Control Compatible (optional): The GMOS-LAN-01 features a right-angle 3.5mm connector that lets you keep your GM vehicle's OEM steering wheel controls via the optional Axxess Steering Wheel Control Interface (120ASWC1, sold separately).

Connections: The GMOS-LAN-01 consists of a single interface with a 16 pin connector on one end and a 18 pin connector on the other end. It also includes 3 harnesses. One harness includes a 16-pin plug that plugs into the 16-pin connection on the interface and its bare lead wires are hardwired into your new radio's harness. The other harness includes a 18-pin plug that plugs into the 18-pin connection of the interface and includes a GM factory plug that plugs into the factory plug behind the radio. It also includes bare wire that will need to be hardwired into your new radio's harness. There is also a back-up camera harness and antenna adapter.

Optional RSE Retention Harness: The Metra GMRSAV (120GMRSAV, sold separately) is an RSE retention harness designed to retain the rear seat entertainment system in these select GM vehicles. The GMRSAV provides an audio/video input to the factory overhead video screen from your new aftermarket radio, and provides the audio/video output from the rear seat control panel to the aftermarket head unit.

If you have factory OnStar and/or Bluetooth and want to retain them, yes; this is a recommended harness for the 2009 Silverado. If you do not have factory OnStar or Bluetooth (or do not care to retain them if you do), you can use the more affordable Axxess LC-GMRC-LAN-01 integration harness instead: www.crutchfield.com/p_120LCLAN01/item.html For additional assistance and personalized recommendations, feel free to contact us directly by phone or though our online chat service: https://www.crutchfield.com/support/ContactUs.aspx

How do u wire it in?
robby  Jan 31, 2019
1 answer
A
Hey Robby, I purchased this harness to transfer a Kenwood deck that I had in a 2009 GMC Sierra 1500 . I upgraded to a 2012 Sierra that had Onstar and steering wheel controls. It was very simple. All wires are color coded so it's just plug and play. It will arrive with very detailed instructions for whatever configuration you have. Good luck and continue shopping Crutchfield$$$$$

Q
I bought a sound stream vr-651 and the adapter harness listed above for my 2008 Silverado. That works fine, even though not impressed with the stereo. However, now I am attempting to install the ASWC-1 steering wheel control interface and the directions were not included. I have attempted to look up instructions but have yet to find any that clearly state how to hook this up. What wires go where and what procedure do I follow to program the controls? Thank you
