About the Axxess GMOS-LAN-03 Wiring Interface
The Axxess GMOS-LAN-03 wiring interface lets you replace the factory radio in select OnStar-equipped 2006-12 GM vehicles using the existing wiring and connectors. Even if you don't subscribe to OnStar, you'll need this interface to connect an aftermarket stereo.
Connect the GMOS-LAN-03 to your aftermarket radio, mount the module, and plug it into the existing factory plug. Get the great sound you want, and keep all of the important safety features intact.
You can adjust volume settings for OnStar as well as the safety chimes. In addition, this interface lets your new receiver work with any existing factory amplifiers. This interface gives you convenient plug-in connections for the Axxess steering wheel control adapter (not included) that works with most aftermarket stereos – that means less wiring work for you. This interface even includes a relay that enables you to keep the audible "click" for your vehicle's turn signal.
The Axxess GMOS-LAN-03 is compatible with select 2006-and up General Motors vehicles. If you haven't done so already, please enter your vehicle information or call a Sales Advisor at 1-888-955-6000 to find out if this item is compatible with your vehicle. Warranty: 1 year.

Features
Overview: The GMOS-LAN-03 Interface is designed to retain the ONSTAR emergency services function and retain the warning chimes that are normally lost when the factory radio is removed and replaced by an aftermarket head unit. It also provides a 12-volt accessory output for proper aftermarket head unit operation and supports your vehicle's factory R.A.P. (Retained Accessory Power). In addition, the GMOS-LAN-03 also provides a Mute, Parking Brake, VSS or Speed Sense, and a Reverse Output to make installation of an aftermarket navigational head unit simpler and less time consuming. The GMOS-LAN-03 supports the Axxess Steering Wheel Control Interface (sold separately).
Compatibility: The GMOS-LAN-03 is compatible with the following Chevrolet, Pontiac and Saturn vehicles.
Make | Model | Year |
---|---|---|
Chevy | Cobalt | 2007-2010 |
HHR | 2006-2010 | |
Malibu | 2008-up | |
Pontiac | G5 | 2007-2008 |
G6 | 2009 | |
Solstice | 2006-2009 | |
Saturn | Aura | 2006-2009 |
Sky | 2006-2009 |
Note: Not compatible with factory amplified sound systems. Please consult the Crutchfield Car Selector for your vehicle's compatibility.
Connections: The GMOS-LAN-03 consists of a single interface with a 16-pin connector on one of the module and and 18-pin connector on the other end; plus includes two harnesses. One harness includes a 16-pin plug that plugs into the 16-pin connection on the interface (beside potentionmeter) and its bare lead wires are hardwired into your new radio's harness. The other harness also includes a 18-pin plug that plugs into the other 18-pin connection of the interface and includes bare wires that hardwire into your new aftermarket radio's harness and GM factory plugs that plug into the factory side plugs behind the radio.
Chime Volume Adjustment: The GMOS-LAN-03 interface features potentiometer located on the 10 pin harness of the module, to adjust the chime volume of your vehicle. Rotate clockwise to make the chime louder and counterclockwise to make the chime softer.
Navigation Compatible: The GMOS-LAN-03 also provides Mute, Parking Brake, VSS or Speed Sense, and a Reverse Output to make installing an aftermarket Navigation radio simpler and less time consuming.
Retained Accessory Power (R.A.P.): The ignition power source of most GM vehicles keeps the radio on until one of the doors is opened. This feature is called the R.A.P. (retained accessory power). The GMOS-LAN-03 is designed to retain this feature.
OEM Steering Wheel Control Compatible (optional): The GMOS-LAN-03 features a right-angle 3.5mm connector that lets you keep your vehicle's OEM steering wheel controls via the optional Axxess Steering Wheel Control Interface (120ASWC1, sold separately).
Note: Your vehicle must have factory steering wheel controls to retain access to the factory customization menu, once the factory radio is replaced with an aftermarket head unit.
Optional RSE Retention Harness: The Metra GMRSAV (120GMRSAV, sold separately) is an RSE retention harness designed to retain the rear seat entertainment system in these select GM vehicles. The GMRSAV provides an audio/video input to the factory overhead video screen from your new aftermarket radio, and provides the audio/video output from the rear seat control panel to the aftermarket head unit.

Installed in my 2010 Chevrolet HHR with a Kenwood DPX500BT. All my chimes work, including turn signals. I don't have OnStar or steering wheel controls for audio, so no worries there. My first stereo install in over 10 years. Couldn't have been easier.
