About the Metra XSVI-6502 Wiring Interface
Installing an aftermarket receiver in some late model Chrysler vehicles requires a switched accessory power supply. Metra's XSVI-6502 CAN bus Interface supplies your aftermarket receiver the necessary accessory power.
First, attach the color-coded wires on your Crutchfield-supplied harness to the wires from your new stereo. If you're not using a soldering iron, we recommend that you purchase some wire connectors to secure the connections. Check out our handy article on three ways to connect the wiring harness here.
Now, once this harness is connected to your new stereo, you'll be able to plug right into your car's factory radio connector. This harness saves installation time since you won't have to cut factory wires individually, and it also enables you to re-install the factory radio if needed. Warranty: 1 year.

Features
Product Overview: The XSVI-6502 OEM integration harness allows you to install an aftermarket radio in select Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep vehicles. In these vehicles, there are no 12-volt accessory wires in the factory harness, which requires the installer run an accessory wire to the fuse box or underneath the steering column when installing an aftermarket radio. The XSVI-6502 is designed to provide a 12-volt, 10-amp switched accessory output (red wire), along with a dimmer wire (orange/white wire).
Retained Accessory Power: The Retained Accessory Power (R.A.P.) function supplies power to the radio after the ignition is shut off until one of the front doors are opened. This function is retained by the XSVI-6502 harness.
Compatibility: The XSVI-6502 harness is compatible with the following vehicles:

Used the Chrysler Interface to hook up an Alpine stereo receiver in my 2007 Dodge Charger. The wire harness is needed to install an aftermarket stereo in the Charger.
