This wire meets the highest specifications

Your amplifier puts out big power and needs low-resistance wiring in order to deliver its power effectively. T-Spec 12-gauge speaker wire meets all American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) standards for size, resistance, and insulation quality, so you can be sure that your power will flow efficiently to your speakers and subs.

Oxygen-free virgin copper

Recycled copper often contains impurities and contaminants from the recycling process that can adversely affect a copper wire's conductivity. That's why T-Spec uses only oxygen-free non-recycled, virgin copper to maximize power flow in their speaker wires.  The high strand count of this cable and its special PVC blended jacket give it an extraordinary flexibility for an easier installation. In fact, this speaker wire is so rugged that it's marine certified, too. Warranty: 1 year.

Wire that can carry the goods

Written by: GregA from Idaho on July 21, 2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Like the thick protective coating to protect from chaffing. It is plenty of gage thick to carry the signal. Go big or stay home and complain about distortion.

Pros: Gage thickness and protective rubber covering

Cons: If you're looking to bend the wire and have it stay for appearance; this is not the wire.

Good wire.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Nice heavy sheath. Black and white coded, if you're blind then they are shaped square and round. I made sure I went up a gauge for my install, had a very short run from under the drivers seat the back the cab of my Ranger. Speaker wire won't be the issue.

Pros: Nice to work with. Had a little trouble cutting the ends with my wire pliers, but not the wires fault. Very hard to pierce the sheathing, helps prevent shorts, opens, or grounds.

Cons: If you strip the ends and get into the wire a bit, it pulls out like super fine hair. Can be a little messy. Be careful when stripping and use the right size wire pliers so it won't be a issue.

Good heavy duty wire

Written by: KCHahn from Colorado on May 5, 2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

A good, heavy duty wire! Ran from Sub output on Amplifir to sub. Did Not need as much as I was sent though! But, without knowing final sub position, I had plenty of wire to make connection.

Pros: Good heavy duty wire! Easy to identify plus and minus wires, by the different shape of wire insulation.

Cons: Almost too big of wire, to fit subwoofer connections! Otherwise, no objections!

sounds good!

Needed an upgrade and was worried about upgrading and being disappointed. Cant believe I worried. The Crutchfield team hooked me up! Alpine UTE52 deck, Sound Ordanance M-1500 amp and S.O. B-12 sub. Awesome awesome sound! The deck is confusing but it doesnt really matter - it works! Put it in a Honda Pilot.

Pros: Easy install and sounds great

Cons: Confusing menus on deck and the manual comes on a disk.

Pros: High Quality you can really feel it 2 different shaped insulators make it easy to tell which wire you have for those tight spaces.

Cons: That I didn't buy more

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This was a great product for the price. I didn't have to buy more than I needed. Only by the foot. It was a great buy, because I have friends that bought their 12 gauge wire on another online retailer site and other places and their 12 gauge speaker wire is actually 16 or even 18 gauge. Trust me. you will want to buy from Crutchfield, because you don't want to find out the hard way like my friends did!

T-Spec 12 AWG Speaker Wire

Written by: Ed from LA on July 26, 2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Purchased this wire to reduce line loss to my door speakers. Because of the size I expected it to be much larger than other speaker wire I have used in the past. It was larger as expected, BUT the pliability of the wire was amazing. If you have limited space you may want to consider a smaller size. Perhaps 14 awg or smaller. I gave this wire 5 star rating because of its quality and capability even though it was more than I needed.

Pros: Quality wire with high pliability.

Cons: More than I required BUT well worth the price.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Great wire. First impression when I picked up this wire was how heavy it was. Wire looks great and is very flexible. One thing to note though, is that one side of the wire's insolation (I believe the white) is rectangular, while the other side's is the typical circular. This does however, make the wire easier to work with in the dark. (polarity is easily determined by feeling the wire's shape)

Pros: Quality, Flexibility, Appearance, Price

Cons:

Great Speaker Wire

Written by: Kim K from Houston, TX on January 5, 2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These speaker wires are great. The larger than normal gauge has less resistance and helps to produce better sound. I am using these speaker wires for my 600W 10" Kicker Subwoofer that is being powered by a 600W kicker amp. So far everything sounds great. The insulation is really tough and thick to protect the wires. Overall this is a great product.

Pros: Large Gauge, Thick Insulation, Can get it cut to length

Cons:

Great Wire. Night and day changing to this from 16g kicker wire instal

Written by: ddub410 from Chicago on December 2, 2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Installer used 16g kicker wire for my Alpine SWR 12 DVC 4 ohm running in a vented box powered by an Alpine MRX 2400 watt amp running at 2ohms. Subwoofer calls for 1000 rms and 3000 peak. I only go by RMS. I think it is better to over power and run the amp at low power. Sounded great but something was missing. Realized when I went in back to take a peak(this is not my first system) just the first one in this SUV. Have ran JL W6, Eclipse Titanium when they were solid, etc etc. Heard great things about the new SWR Alpine subs; the newest gen. Gave the sub a shot. Love it. I think it actually equals the JL in SQ and SPL. Really do. It is not messy bad bass like in the past I had heard from some Alpine subs. I hate SPL sloppy bass that just booms and has no SQ. If this sub wasn't good the JL went right back in and I would send it back or if it wasn't perfect enough for me Wifey likes bass. Love the sub. Knew something was missing cause it hit so hard and crisp most of the time. Sure enough. Who runs 16g on a 1000 rms sub???? Crutchfield studs got the 12g out to me asap and man it made all the difference. I mean really did. This is great oxygen free wire that won't wither over time. Love the classic black and white. I swear it was night and day for 10 feet of wire that was probably 25 bucks I believe give or take. The advisors said give it a shot and if you are not happy go back to the JL. They were right the 12g was the key. I am going to go with a bigger box. Alpine says 1.7 do 2

Pros: Oxygen free, Crutchfield Support, Classy look, Sounds great

Cons: none

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Heavy duty 12 gauge wire. Well insulated. Certainly adequate for the job.

Pros: Black and white insulation eliminates confusion between positive and negative when making the connection from speaker to amplifier. I prefer the solid colors to a clear line and a clear line with a stripe.

Cons: None.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I've always bought cheap wire in the past but I figured I'd give a more expensive wire the try to see if there is a difference. I noticed a big difference of the texture of the wires as well as the size of the wires inside. You can tell it is a better quality wire and I'm happy with the purchase.

Pros: Good quality, thick insulation .

Cons: None.
