About the T-Spec Speaker Wire

Buck Pomerantz

This wire meets the highest specifications

Your amplifier puts out big power and needs low-resistance wiring in order to deliver its power effectively. T-Spec speaker wire meets all American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) standards for size, resistance, and insulation quality, so you can be sure that your power will flow efficiently to your speakers and subs.

Tinned oxygen-free copper wire

Recycled copper often contains impurities and contaminants from the recycling process that can adversely affect a copper wire's conductivity. That's why T-Spec uses only oxygen-free non-recycled, virgin copper to maximize power flow in their speaker wires. T-Spec tins the pure copper wire to protect against oxidation and tarnish which would reduce conduction. The high strand count of this cable and its special PVC blended jacket give it an extraordinary flexibility for an easier installation. In fact, this speaker wire is so rugged that it's recommended for marine use, as well. Warranty: 1 year.

This wire is sold by the foot — enter the number of feet desired in the "quantity" field of your shopping cart.

Q
I'm looking to hookup 2 12 inch subs to a 2000 watts amp what install kit and wire do I need both subs to one amp ?

A
Good Afternoon Thomas, thank you for reaching out to us and that is a great question. For a 2000 watt rms mono amp, you would want to use a 1/0 gauge amp wiring kit like the Crutchfield CK1 #007CK1. For speaker wire you can use this T-spec 12 gauge wire to connect both subs to that amp.

Q
Will this hold a 1500 wat amp?
jalen  Aug 23, 2016
1 answer
A
If you a referring to a continuous (RMS) wattage output specification, no, not at all. If your amp will provide a true 1,500 watts RMS, I recommend using a much thicker wire gauge to connect your subwoofers. The longer the run of wire between the amp and subs, the thicker you'll need the wire to be. I would recommend using a minimum of 12 gauge wire for that type of power: http://www.crutchfield.com/g_50600/Car-Speaker-Wire.html?tp=2917#&nvpair=FFGauge|12-gauge I hope that helps! http://www.crutchfield.com/Support/Bio.aspx?bio=5

Q
What wire gauge is recommended for wiring a sub to an amp that pushes 300W RMS? Is 16 gauge acceptable?

A
16 is fine but I would run 14 gauge
chuck  Jan 27, 2015

16 gauge will work. But, 14 or 12 gauge will help with signal loss versus the smaller wire.
