Features Product Overview: The B-Tech BT34 ceiling-mount speaker bracket is designed to work with all types of satellite speakers, including those with single threaded inserts, dual threaded inserts and keyhole mounts. The bracket consists of metal and plastic construction with a complete selection of speaker mounting hardware. The supplied cover plates slide on to hide the mounting screws from view. Weight Capacity: These brackets can handle speakers up to 11 pounds. Speaker Mounts: The bracket works with the following types of satellite speakers mounts: Single Threaded Insert: If the speaker has a single threaded insert, one of the supplied long screws (M5 x 30mm, M6 x 28mm, or 1/4" x 1-1/4" UNC) can be used to attach the speaker to the bracket using the single point adapter. Dual Threaded Inserts: If the speaker has dual threaded inserts, you must first attach the dual point adapter plate to the bracket, then use the shorter screw pairs (M5 x 12mm, M6 x 12mm, or 1/4" x 1/2" UNC) to attach the speaker to the bracket. Screw spacing for the dual point adapter plate is 1.95" to 2.71" Keyhole Slot: If the speaker has a keyhole slot, you must first loosely attach the M5 x 12mm nut to the M5 x 12mm screw through the single point adapter. The head of the screw is then inserted into the keyhole slot and tightened to hold the speaker firmly. Speaker Aiming: The BT34 offers total flexibility in aiming the speaker. The mounting arm rotates a full 360 degrees, while the ball and socket joint allows you to angle the speaker up to 90 degrees. Mounting Recommendations: It is recommended that the bracket be mounted to a ceiling joist or to a concrete ceiling. It is not recommended that it be mounted to drywall only. Wall anchors are supplied for use on concrete ceilings only. The screw spacing for the ceiling bracket is 1.98" to 2.7". Note: If the selected location doesn't have a ceiling joist or is not concrete, it will be necessary to obtain high quality "butterfly" anchors, available at most hardware stores. I was concerned that the "key hole" option wouldn't really hold up a 5 lb speaker in place safely. I was pleasantly surprised. These brackets work very well. The "key hole" mounting option makes a very secure hold to the speaker and then to the rest of the bracket. Additionally, the instructions were easy to read and I was able to install both of them in less than 30 minutes.Adjusting them for the correct angle and direction is very straight forward and effective. A miniature allen wrench is used to adjust two set screws which give the speaker mobility in two axes and when tight provide very stable positioning for the speakers.Each bracket comes with all the hardware you would need to mount any of the three mounting styles. However, there is no hardware included for installing the bracket into sheetrock alone. It provides hardware for screwing the bracket into concrete or a ceiling joist, but you if you have to suspend it from just sheetrock you will need to get some additional hardware. Of course, I would be nervous hanging a speaker of any significant weight from just sheetrock, so I made sure to screw the bracket into a floor joist.I would definitely recommend these brackets to anyone needing to mount a speaker from the ceiling. 28 out of 30 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? Installation was so easy I had my elevan year old grandson on the ladder doing it. No noise from the mounts, solid construction and as always my order was processed and arrived as promised. Crutchfield Customer Review The reviewer purchased this item from us, verified by the email address on the order. i bought 4 of these mounts so that i could suspend the surround speakers for my Onkyo SR 800 system. the speakers weigh 2lb's each are 8 inch's tall- 5 wide and 2.5 deep. Install was insanely easy and the finished hang looks great- all screw's and brackets provided. Nice clean lines on the mount cover and on the mount join with the speaker. Also due to the swiveling ability of the joint, you can pretty much point the speaker anywhere with ease. Noise wise the whole thing is very solid. no metal vibes from the mount. I use my system to play PC games and i crank the effects to max- haven't heard a peep from the mounts yet. The only disadvantage is that to adjust the speakers you must use an allen-wrench key- the key is provided- to screw and unscrew the threaded lock set-screws, this works well if its got allot of room around it, but in tight areas with a high ceiling -its a bit of a pain.
