Well Worth It

Written By John, Tennessee on Sunday, April 06, 2014
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

While these may seem like just fancy pieces of plastic, they're well worth the money. I have an older vehicle, and the trim pieces can be brittle. These tools are non-marring, strong enough to get the panels off, but also "give" just enough. When I got these, I wasn't sure that I needed 3 pieces, but I though that the different shapes could be handy. As it turned out, I needed to use two of the together a few times - but I was good to go.

Great Price and Product

Written By Crankitup, Phoenix, AZ on Saturday, February 15, 2014
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought these on the advice of my Crutchfield advisor and for the price I was expecting flimsy, one-time use tools to make the install of my OE integration unit easier but was happily surprised to find that they are made of a sturdy plastic. I find myself wishing I had purchased the 6pc set to always have a tool for the job in the future as these tools, intended for 1-time use, are finding a permanent place in my automotive toolbox.

These tools, combined with the Crutchfield MasterSheet made installation a breeze. A quick shout out for Crutchfield, I have been buying all my audio gear from them for over 20 years, and will never go elsewhere even if I can save a buck or two, the service, support and the little extras like needed harnesses, install kits and the master sheet save so much headache and time. This product is just another example of always getting more than expected from Crutchfield.
Pros:
Sturdy - of a quality higher than expected
Cons:
None

Great tools for installs

Written By Walt H., Broomfield, CO on Saturday, February 08, 2014
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Perfect for removing plastic door panels and interior trim. Very handy for a tidy install and you will be less likely to damage the interior trim and door panels. You still have to be carful with the clips and know how they work or you can still break them. That being said these tools are much better option over a screwdriver and is a must have tool if installing speakers yourself and removing interior trim.
Pros:
Durable and perfect for their intended use.
Cons:
Non.

Written By matt, texas on Monday, February 03, 2014
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I debated getting these as I've used small screw drivers etc. for other similar projects. I'm glad I got this as it was much easier to pry and avoid scratching/denting of plastics. I used one of the angled tools to pull back my headliner and run the bluetooth microphone wire down the left pillar. The pillar had a cover over the hand hold and another of these tools easily removed the screw covers. Had I done this with a screw driver, it would have made a small dent where the pry started.
Pros:
All good
Cons:
no bad

At first I was not sure why I purchased these.... All the online instructions made it seem like I could just snap out my dash insert by hand... Oh how wrong they were. Glad I listened to the Crutchfield adviser and bought them! With the included Crutchfield instructions and these handy tools I was able to remove the old unit without damaging my interior. Something that would not have been possible if I would have used a metal screwdriver! Very glad I purchased these, and very glad I listened to the Crutchfield adviser and not the stuff I had read on the internet.

They were exactly what I needed to remove the pilar trim in my van and I have already used them on the dash also. BOJOTrim Panel Tools

Written By Ed P., Edwardsville, IL on Thursday, September 12, 2013
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Save your money and buy these tools. Waited about 3 days for the shipment and when I tried to use them on my 2010 Chevy Traverse door panels they were too flexible to "pop" the panel clips. I wound up using a very small pry bar and put electrical tape around it to protect the finish. The pry bar worked perfect while the Blue Bojo Tools sat on the ground.
Pros:
Look Nice....useful for holding the panel out about a quarter inch while I used the pry bar.
Cons:
Just too flexible....I was afraid I was going to snap off the tool in my face.

They have this same type of product in metal but having been in the cycling industry for a long time I have come to find plastic much more forgiving as far as damaging and scratching. For the price a great set of tools to add to your collection. You might see people on YouTube using screwdrivers. And almost always it scratches the part they are trying to remove or surrounding parts.
Pros:
U have them for life, they are more forgiving then metal, helps get the job done and done right

These trim panel tools are great for getting some of those panels that just don't want to budge...and they do it without a scratch. Kills the idea of "Get a bigger hammer" which we all have probably reached for a big screwdriver to make it work. And then you end up with scratches. These tools are worth money and cheaper than replacing dash panels...
Pros:
inexpensive for the tasks they perfrom

Was thinking I could just use a screw drive, but these trim panel tools make it a snap to remove any trim panels in my Ford Freestyle. They give the right amount of support on both sides of the fastener, so the fastener releases without breaking and the trim panel isn't damaged. Worth every cent.
Pros:
Gives all the prying options you need to remove the panels.
Cons:
Too bad Ford doesn't just provide them with the car.

Handiest little gadgets around

Written By Chris L, Raleigh, NC on Friday, June 28, 2013
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

OK - was hesitant after some of the reviews but now - glad I made the purchase. These made removing the door panels of a 2011 Silverado a breeze. Only caveat - when using the forked tools - make sure you get around the push tabs otherwise they may separate from the panel and stay in the door. Easy fix - they pop back into the panel. I noticed that if a portion of the panel is stubborn, the tool will flex quite a bit - thought I was going to break one a couple of times, never did - just grabbed a second one and teamed them - no problem after that. Also - getting started was a little tight as the tools are a little thick on the ends. I used a plastic putty knife to get a space large enough for the tool...after that - smooth sailing. By the way, putty knife not a good pry tool - just a starter tool. Even with all of the minor issues - still a five-star item as it really makes the removal of the door panels so much quicker and easier. I would definitely set again if I had to but these held up nicely.
Pros:
Cut removal of panel time down significantly No scratching of panel or paint
Cons:
A little too much flex A little thick when it comes finding a starting point

Pros:

Cons:

These tools are a great purchase for someone who will be doing some install work and wants to take good care of the interior of his or her vehicle. I was happy with the quality and strength of the plastic. Very helpful in prying off tough to reach/grip panels.
Pros:
Solid product. High strength plastic. Doesn't scratch surfaces.
Cons:
A little too expensive. Great if you're going to do multiple installs. Maybe too pricey for only one install.

Just What I Needed

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

My only previous experience with removing dash/trim panels was to install a trailer brake controller so I wanted to be sure that the installation for the new radio head unit went smoothly without any broken or scratched panels. This kit was exactly what I needed, especially since I had to repeat part of the dash trim removal/replacement to correct my failure to connect the antenna jack the first time I put things back together. This may be the only time I use these tools but it was well worth the money for a quality installation job.

BOJO Trim Panel Tools, not so hot

Written By Anonymous, Bellbrook, OH on Monday, November 19, 2012
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The tools I purchased from Crutchfield are of a plastic construction and did not seem to be rigid enough to do the job. They flexed excessively and did not seem to have a long enough reach. Also, the spade ends were not sharp enough to get under some trim panels or under the heads of the detachable plast trim fasteners. I have used many trim tools prior to this experience that have been better. I would not recommend this set, and instead would recommend investing in a better set at the same cost.
Pros:
Plastic does not cut, poke or marr trim panel finish.
Cons:
not strong, long, rigid enough to do the job.

This is the first ime I was ever able to remove panels and parts without scratching the crap out of or breaking things. No more screw drivers and putty knives. Thought I should get these so I wouldn't screw up my Hyundai Elantra dashboard. At first I didn't think I needed them, but after I used them for both my installation and my sister in-law's cars, I'm glad I got them. the plastic is very durable and the bright blue color makes sure we won't lose the tools during the install process.
