Don't Install Without Them....You Will be Sorry

Written By Frank_M, Nash County, NC on Saturday, November 15, 2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Not much to say other than they are made well and work as advertised. Made removing panels easy and left no scratches. I would not attempt any type of panel removal without them...and I'm a shop teacher. Use the right tool for the job and you won't be disappointed.

Pros: Made well No scratches on panels

Cons: A little pricey but worth it in the long run

WORTH IT

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

if you're doing any install that requires you to remove a panel - which is almost ALWAYS the case - then you'd be silly not to buy these. They've not only saved the edges of my panels, they've saved my fingernails, too. I just wish I would have bought them years ago.

Norm at Crutchfield recommended these and he was right...made pulling off trim pieces a breeze. Much better than using a screwdriver and going to the junkyard to find another after you've broken your trim pieces with the screwdriver.

Pros: No broken trim parts

Cons: none

Nice Utility Tools

Written By Jack, Colorado on Monday, August 11, 2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These trim panel removal tools are quite useful in helping to remove various types of trim pieces and they perform exactly as expected. They are not designed to remove trim automatically - they are designed to help you remove trim without scratching up the surrounding areas or the trim itself. Besides installing a head unit, speakers, and an amp, I have found these tools useful in several other applications around the home.

Pros: The quality of the tools seems to be pretty good. They do exactly what they are designed to do.

Cons: I really haven't found any cons.

Useful Tools

Written By Damon, Naples, FL on Tuesday, July 01, 2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased these tools specifically for speaker installation in my 2014 Ford Mustang. I installed speakers in the door and the rear deck. The straight, non-forked pry bar was ideal for removing the plastic pieces of trim from the door without scuffing or scratching the materials. Also, the angled, forked prybar was ideal for removing push-pins which hold the rear deck in place. So, I was quite happy with my purchase. The tools are the right size and sturdy enough for multiple uses. I highly recommend them. Do not use a flat head screwdriver to remove the panels/trim. Use the proper tools, like these.

Pros: Safe to use on plastic door panels and pieces. A variety of heads for the job. Solid construction.

the cons of NOT having them

Written By S.P.Noone, N.C. on Sunday, June 22, 2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

im not here to talk about how awesome it was TO have them. im going to talk about how miserable it is NOT to have them. i wound up slicing my finger open on a sharp bit of plastic when it snapped closed on my finger, i scarred and scratched the paint on my car, AND i managed to break several snaps. hindsight being 20/20 i seriously regret NOT buying them. especially since they are only $12.

Great!

One tool was somewhat helpful on a Dodge truck but it flexed considerably, making popping off the door panel difficult. Was better at lifting a little so that I could pop it out with my hand.

Pros: good price, adaptable to a number of panels

Cons: flimsy, no real strength when popping tough retainers.

Did the job, but...

Written By Ruben, San Jose, CA on Saturday, April 19, 2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I gave this product 3 stars because I couldn't have done the job without it. However, it didn't work as well as I expected. I removed the stereo from a 2006 Honda Accord - middle dash section, center console fold up pocket, trip around shift lever, etc. The gap around trim panels is very tight and the blade tip seemed to be about twice as thick. Trying to insert the tool between the dash panel was far more difficult that I thought and required lots of force to get the tool into the gap. As a result, several marks or impressions were left. Since the dashboard is someone soft, I'm hoping those impressions will eventually rebound or have a memory effect. Someone disappointed since I'm a bit of a perfectionist. The tools themselves appear to be very durable.

Pros: Tools appear rugged and durable enough for the average job.

Cons: The bladed or thin edge of the blade was not thin enough.

A must set of tools!

Well Worth It

Written By John, Tennessee on Sunday, April 06, 2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

While these may seem like just fancy pieces of plastic, they're well worth the money. I have an older vehicle, and the trim pieces can be brittle. These tools are non-marring, strong enough to get the panels off, but also "give" just enough. When I got these, I wasn't sure that I needed 3 pieces, but I though that the different shapes could be handy. As it turned out, I needed to use two of the together a few times - but I was good to go.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought these on the advice of my Crutchfield advisor and for the price I was expecting flimsy, one-time use tools to make the install of my OE integration unit easier but was happily surprised to find that they are made of a sturdy plastic. I find myself wishing I had purchased the 6pc set to always have a tool for the job in the future as these tools, intended for 1-time use, are finding a permanent place in my automotive toolbox.

These tools, combined with the Crutchfield MasterSheet made installation a breeze. A quick shout out for Crutchfield, I have been buying all my audio gear from them for over 20 years, and will never go elsewhere even if I can save a buck or two, the service, support and the little extras like needed harnesses, install kits and the master sheet save so much headache and time. This product is just another example of always getting more than expected from Crutchfield.

Perfect for removing plastic door panels and interior trim. Very handy for a tidy install and you will be less likely to damage the interior trim and door panels. You still have to be carful with the clips and know how they work or you can still break them. That being said these tools are much better option over a screwdriver and is a must have tool if installing speakers yourself and removing interior trim.

I debated getting these as I've used small screw drivers etc. for other similar projects. I'm glad I got this as it was much easier to pry and avoid scratching/denting of plastics. I used one of the angled tools to pull back my headliner and run the bluetooth microphone wire down the left pillar. The pillar had a cover over the hand hold and another of these tools easily removed the screw covers. Had I done this with a screw driver, it would have made a small dent where the pry started.

Pros: All good

Cons: no bad

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have never taken apart the doors of my car to replace the speakers before. I have to say that the tools the Crutchfield sales associate suggested made them very easy to get into. And it no doubt saved some damage I would have caused with a metal screwdriver. Well worth the money in my opinion.

A must have for interior work....

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This little tool kit is a must-have for anyone working on the interior of their vehicles. Sturdy enough to handle the tough jobs while gentle enough to leave no trace of their use. I highly recommend spending the small amount of money on these tools to save you a lot of hassle in the long run.

Pros: Sturdy and gentle on interior panels

Cons: None that I can thing of.

Was not sure.....

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

At first I was not sure why I purchased these.... All the online instructions made it seem like I could just snap out my dash insert by hand... Oh how wrong they were. Glad I listened to the Crutchfield adviser and bought them! With the included Crutchfield instructions and these handy tools I was able to remove the old unit without damaging my interior. Something that would not have been possible if I would have used a metal screwdriver! Very glad I purchased these, and very glad I listened to the Crutchfield adviser and not the stuff I had read on the internet.

Pros: Hand tool to pry without damaging

Cons: none at this price

A must have

This product was added to my shopping cart by one of the Crutchfield sales reps. I am so glad it was. These panel tools make remove panels so much easier and I did not have the fear of scratching any surfaces in my dash.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I didn't want to pay a lot for something I only planned to use once. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the Bojo Trim Panel Tools. They were exactly what I needed to remove the pilar trim in my van and I have already used them on the dash also. I even used them to pry open my tv remote which wasn't working and now it's like new, so that was a $30 savings, a nice bonus. These tools are stronger than they appear. I would recommend these to anyone working on their vehicle.

Pros: Versatile and strong tools

Cons: None

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Used these tools once so far with good success. I was a little disappointed when I remove my rear tail light assembly and cause a small chip in the lens surface. I was careful and certainly did not expect that to happen. I n spite of this I think the tools are well made and will serve me well in the future.

Pros: Well made Good value for the price

Cons: Not as piable as I would like

When used, while refering to the instructions included, these made it very simple to remove the parts from the dash so you can do the install yourself.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Save your money and buy these tools. Waited about 3 days for the shipment and when I tried to use them on my 2010 Chevy Traverse door panels they were too flexible to "pop" the panel clips. I wound up using a very small pry bar and put electrical tape around it to protect the finish. The pry bar worked perfect while the Blue Bojo Tools sat on the ground.

Pros: Look Nice....useful for holding the panel out about a quarter inch while I used the pry bar.

Cons: Just too flexible....I was afraid I was going to snap off the tool in my face.

Perfect

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

They have this same type of product in metal but having been in the cycling industry for a long time I have come to find plastic much more forgiving as far as damaging and scratching. For the price a great set of tools to add to your collection. You might see people on YouTube using screwdrivers. And almost always it scratches the part they are trying to remove or surrounding parts.

Pros: U have them for life, they are more forgiving then metal, helps get the job done and done right

Cons: Not one
