About the PAC Unilink Adapter For Sony

Leigh Schoettinger

Important Note: This adapter only works with Sony receivers with CD changer controls that display the "Sat Ready" logo on the face and offer scrolling text.

PAC's Sony Unilink adapter allows you to connect an auxiliary source (iPod, MP3 player, etc) to a Sony car stereo that lacks the Aux Lite feature. It plugs into any Sony stereo with CD/MD changer controls and is "Sat Ready" and supports scrolling text, activating the audio input jacks. When you select the CD/MD changer as the source, you can listen to any auxiliary source that's connected to the stereo's RCA inputs. Warranty: 1 year.

What's in the box:

Product Research

Features

Overview: This cable makes it appear that a CD changer is connected to the Unilink connection on a Sony head unit with CD changer controls. By making it appear that a CD changer is connected to the Unilink input, the audio from an auxiliary source, such as a portable MP3 player, can be fed into the BUS AUDIO RCA inputs of the head unit. If your Sony head unit has the Aux Lite feature, this adapter isn't needed to input audio from an auxiliary audio source. When this adapter is used, a Sony CD changer cannot be connected to the head unit.

Compatibility: Compatible with Sony UniLink head-units that are changer controllers that use a DIN cable as well as RCA inputs for its CD changer connections. For proper functionality, the head unit must also be "Sat Ready" and support scrolling text.

Connections: The right angle Unilink connector simply plugs into the CD changer data port on the back of a compatible Sony head unit.

Note: One end of the adapter is terminated with a right angle Unilink connector, and the other end is terminated with a small box with circuitry that allows the BUS AUDIO RCA connections to be used as an AUX input.

Will this item work with a Sony CDX-GT520?

If I had to guess I would say prob so but I looked it up and it already has an auxiliary input. I am curious as to why you would want it with already having the input?!

My unit is a CDX-CA810X, I use the adapter exclusively for music, etc from my iPhone 5 and Galaxy tab, with almost daily use it functions well with no problems; it's been close to a year since I installed the adapter. Check the spec's on your unit to see if there are any functional differences between yours and mine.

I don't know if it will work on your model. It works perfectly on my model which is. Existing Sony Compact Disc Player CDX-R3310 CDX-R30M CD Changer CDX-T69

It should, it plugs into the port for a cd changer and that will allow the rear audio inputs to turn on, if your trying to add an RCA style input to the back of the radio... Basically tricks the head unit into believing there is a cd changer installed... Good luck!
