PAC's C2R-CHY4 radio replacement interface lets you replace the factory radio in select 2004-up Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Mitsubishi, and Volkswagen vehicles, without losing the accessory output and other signals. It also allows the new receiver to turn on the factory amplifier, if present.
Another plus -— once you've connected the appropriate PAC steering wheel audio control adapter for your new car stereo, the C2R-CHY4 interface eliminates the need for the second PAC interface (SWI-CAN or SWI-CAN2) that's usually required for your vehicle, saving you some cash. Warranty: 1 year.

This wire harness worked like a charm on my 08 Jeep Grand Cherokee. If it wasn't for this amazing gizmo, I would of been lost as well as the amazing instructions that Crutchfield sent.
Pros: Made installation easy
Cons: Expensive for a harness and some wires and a small relay unit. Instructions from PAC could of been a bit better written. An engineer must of wrote it not an average person with the knowledge of how to install this.
Good harness and made hooking up all of the wires a breeze.
Very easy to use. Matching wires was the hardest part, and even that wasn't very difficult.
Easy to install. Had to reverse the front and rear speaker leads to have the phone Bluetooth come through the Pioneer head that I installed with this harness. Quick call to Crutchfield tech help gave me the fix. Tech support is great!
Pros: Good diagrams and easy install - works great with my Infinity system in my Jeep JK
Cons: Had to reverse the front and rear hookup to fix the phone Bluetooth but that is minor. No impact on sound.
Easy to install plugs right into factory wiring and splice radio wires by color.
Pros: Easy to use
Made install into a 2010 Wrangler a breeze.
Pros: Easy wiring while at work bench instead of in the dash, then just plug and play.
Installed in 2008 Jeep Wrangler .This was my first time installing aftermarket radio. This product made the job easy. Works great.
Pros: Easy to install
Does exactly what it's supposed to do.. Couldn't be happier
Works perfectly for my 2006 Ram 2500. I had the basic 4 speaker radio stock. This provided me with the park brake, speed sense, and reverse signals I needed.
Is easy to install. And work perfect on 2006 Dodge Ram 1500. Very safisfied whit this product
Pros: Easy install. And instructions are very clear
Cons: I don't find any cons.
The service staff always goes above and betond to make customers happy and sell the right product for the job.
Cons: Doesn't work.
Excellent item made installing new head unit simple minimal wire splicing, just two wires on new head unit
Pros: plug-and-play just need to splice head unit wires.
Great and easy to install
Installed in a 2006 Jeep Commander with the Axxera AV714BH. The instructions that came with this device were a little confusing. I wasn't sure where to plug in the 11 pin connector. The good news was there wasn't many options so it didn't take long to figure out. It's possible for the DIYer to figure it out yourself. Not much else to say. It works!
Pros: Gave two different options for one price. Long. Well built.
I found the instructions a little confusing but nothing that the team at Crutchfield wasn't able to assist with over the phone. I am bummed that I lost my fader control but it is with my vehicle and not with this adapter.
Used this to install a Pioneer AVH-4000NEX Receiver in a 2007 Jeep Wrangler. This made the task simple! Had so many wires to tie into the vehicle it may not have been possible without this connector. Chrysler also has a unique CAN system in this vehicle which would have been complicated to work around.
Pros: Easy! I laid out the wiring, made my connections and plugged it straight in.
After reading some of the reviews prior to purchasing this interface, I was concerned that the wiring would present challenges. However, during the install, the wiring went well and I did not have any issues. It works great with my factory amplifier.
Pros: Allows me to use the factory amplifier and speakers
Cons: Directions could be more clear for some without previous wiring experience.
Was awesome that this unit interfaced with my Infinity system so I could retain the use of my Infinity Subwoofer. Wiring instructions could have been a bit better but being 50+ in age I guess it added some challenges. Overall a great unit!
Pros: Compact size and connectors that match the factory connectors makes it much easier to install in the tight dash area of a Jeep Wrangler. Works flawlessly!
Cons: Wiring instructions could be a bit better.
Easy to setup
Pros: Easy to use and setup
Can be very overwhelming when reading instructions and looking at wire diagrams.
Pros: it works
Cons: Didnt realize I would loose the fading of front to rear speakers when using it with 2013 Jeep Wrangler with Kenwood DDX-471HD. * I did go back and look at this unit after install and it does state that it would loose option of front to rear fade of audio.
This made installing the new radio so easy.
Pros: worked perfect. Easy to follow instructions.
Works just as advertised. I used two of these in past couple weeks. One on a new JVC DVD Receiver where you use the blue wire, and one on a Pioneer DVD Receiver, using the plug for the swc. The main harness connects to speakers, then connect 3-5 wires to power, switched power, ground, illumination and set the dial to stereo brand. Wala.........steering wheel buttons work. I use a mini butane torch to solder and heat shrink all my harnesses. I can do this harness in less than 15 minutes.
Pros: Works as advertised Straightforward connections Got for 1/2 price with stereo purchase Good reviews
Cons: Instructions can be a little confusing, but read through them a couple times first.
The PAC C2R-CHY4 Wiring Interface was a super easy install, great instructions.
Pros: The PAC C2R-CHY4 Wiring Interface was a super easy install, great instructions.
Dummy proof easy to connect
Pros: Easy to connect
Cons: Interface is bulky
Works just end up with an extra connector and unused wires. That's what happens when it's a product made for a few allocations.
Interfaces well into stock harness in 2010 Wrangler
Pros: quick and easy to install
Cons: didnt know which harness end to use until I removed the stock radio, comes with two harness plugs
When I first bought this for my radio I figured it would be hard to get everything just right as the box comes with two styles of connectors and there is a maze of wires. However, all I needed was the instructions included, my radio wiring harness/instructions, and some time. After about an hour I had all of the connections needed. My two complaints are that not all of the wires matched the colors. Be very careful especially with the reverse and PB wires. The other is that the wires were not all the same length. The ground, battery, and ACC wires were much longer than the other wires which I didn't notice until everything was almost complete. This created a slight curve in the wiring harness. It ended up being ok as I had to fold harness under the radio unit to fit.
Pros: Clear instructions, easy to follow
Cons: No uniform wire length between ground, battery, ACC and the remaining
Seemed overwhelming looking all the wires but easy to install once you read the instructions and are prepared for the job.
Pros: Clear instructions
I've used this before, and the installation is well documented. This installed and detected my aftermarket HU (Soundstream) pretty easily.
Pros: documentation. Easy.
Hooked right up. Easy.
Pros: Piece of mind when hooking up wires.
The adapter works perfectly. It was easy to wire into the head unit wiring harness but you want to make sure that you cross check the color codes on both sets of wires.
Pros: Works perfectly.
glad they talked me into this. took it to the kitchen table, hooked up all the wires, then plug n plan
Pros: Worked great
Fit just perfect. I had just one question about it and the tech support answer it real quick.
Pros: Conserve factory stock wiring and no computer problems.
Cons: Diagram and descriptions could be better.
Simple and easy to install match wires hookup and go!!!
Pros: Easy to install and understand
A little intimidating at first--there's alot of wires! - but tech support walked me right through it and when the moment of truth came, everthing worked as it should and my truck was rockin!!
Pros: easy to plug into truck's wiring harness after being wired to stereo
Cons: lots of wires can be intimidating! haha just call tech support-they were very helpful - and patient!
Self destructed within a week
This adapter was easy to install when following the instructions.
Pros: ease of installation
This came with my Pioneer FH-X700BT and I was very pleased with how it has worked in our 2008 Town And Country. This is the first car stereo I have installed so, having two wiring harnesses in the package meant I had to uninstall the old stereo before connecting and heat shrinking the wires. Maybe not a big deal to an experienced installer but I really had no idea how long this would take. Thankfully, there are several good videos on connecting wiring harnesses on Youtube and that gave me all the information I needed to go forward. All told, the total install may have taken me 60-90 minutes to complete and I am sure I can beat that in my next car!
Pros: It worked perfectly once I figured out what I was going to do.
Cons: The instructions were very basic and, with me being a newbie, I had to turn to Youtube to get an idea of what I needed to do. Once I did, however, their instructions all made sense.
Unfortunately this was third wiring harness which could have been avoided by calling Crutchfield first. This was only an issue due to the vehicle had a CAN-BUS system which is a nightmare (my opinion). There is also a mistake in the wiring diagram sent by Crutchfield that states the 12V+ needs to go to a 12V+ when the vehicle is on (cigarette lighter). This will cause a multitude of issues with the CAN-BUS system and shouldn't be connected to an external power source (keep wiring inside the wiring harness).
Pros: Good labeling of the wires and easy to install.
Cons: Watch out for the 12V+ acc mistake in the instructions as it is incorrect. Also would be great if the front to rear fade would work but this is an issue with the CAN-BUS and the factory amplifier and not the C2R-CHY4 harness.
Wow this was easy to install. Would do it again in a heart beat
Pros: Love the look, easy to use
Cons: Didn't like the color
This made installation so easy. Staff was helpful with our questions also.
I needed to replace this part after a year. Not looking forward to doing this again. it was easy to install. I'm not sure why some thought it s difficult. Fitting all of the wires and radio into the space a challenge.
Pros: Straight forward installation. It works well.
Cons: Issues with longevity?
Makes it easy to replace factory radio.
Pros: Works flawlessly
Cons: Instructions did not explain that one connection on factory harness is abandoned
Installed in my 2010 Ram 1500. This came with 2 harnesses in the package (confused me right of the bat!) you have to go to your vehicle to see which one fits. Seemed to be an easy install but of all the installs I have done, these directions were the worst. Took a little longer than normal and 1 call to Crutchfield's AWESOME tech support but got everything hooked up and works fine.
Pros: All functions work (Not all wires were used in my truck so can only vouch for the ones in use)
Cons: Price and Instructions
I'm old school and way back, dealing with car computers wasn't an issue when changing the radio but the guys at Crutchfield really know their stuff and this little box did the trick.
Pros: Small and compact so it fits in the dash well. Easy to follow instructions and even better tech support from the fabulous guys at Crutchfield !
Cons: Had one fail about a week after the install but the guys at Crutchfield hooked me up with next day shipping on a replacement. Thank you Crutchfield !
The instructions are so so.. not alot of detail but I made do....
This was a much needed unit for my aftermarket receiver, install. It was fairly easy to wire, once I understood the schematic.
Pros: This was my first install of an aftermarket receiver and this product made the install successful.
Loved having this gadget to help make the install so easy! I am a big proponent of keeping factory harnesses and this unit helped me keep that goal.
Pros: easy to use, works great!
Does what it is supposed to do. Needed to install stereo in my truck.
Pros: Works, Half price with stereo purchase from Crutchfield. Easy to install
It works fine but, it was expensive and the instructions were really general in nature. The schematic was the saving grace. It also takes up a lot of space behind the radio.
Pros: It works fine.
Cons: Instructions very general and no wire connectors.
Does the job
EASY to follow instructions. Worked fine first time.
Pros: Easy installation
Links up everything perfectly with the factory harness.
Pros: Great Quality,
The harness was very easy to install. Most the wires matched up by color and it does come with a wiring diagram. I have only had it installed for a couple weeks know so can't give it a 5 stars only time will tell if if last.
Worked very well. Be sure to connect the 2 blue-with-white wires together, else the poweramp won't turn on.
Pros: It works at connecting the aftermarket frontend with the original backend.
Cons: Really needs better instructions.
The best harness you could buy.
Everything you need in one box!!
Pros: Comes with everything and easy to use
Cons: Loss of control of factory amp!
Using this device made installing my aftermarket head unit a breeze to install. You just have to make sure that you read the wiring instructins on both the pac unit and your head unit. Sometimes you might have to review the instructions a couple of times before connecting the wires. If you do this you wont have any problems at all. However should you have any trouble Crutchfield is just a phone call away.
Thanks for taking the time to read this review. I hope it will help you to put aside any doubts you might have about being able to install your head unit!
Pros: Very easy to install. Works perfectly in 2011 dodge ram 1500. Keeps all important features active after new head unit is installed.
Cons: The price is a little high. But if you are considering the purchase of a new head unit then take advantage of Crutchfield's offer of 50% off the price of this unit with the purchase of a new stereo from them.
This product is essential to installing your aftermarket headunit. It makes the install quick and easy.
The product came with great support but I was unable to get it to operate properly. I was unaware that I had a separate amplifier and thus I could not get the new system to operate properly.
Pros: Simple, easy to follow wiring diagrams.
Cons: I did not know how to by-pass the amplifier.
This adapter was just what I needed for my 2007 Dodge Nitro.
Pros: Worked like it should!
Cons: No cons.
Would not work when connected as instructions indicate. Had a second unit sent, still did not work and ultimately worked it out with a patch.
Cons: Had to reconfigure to get to work
Easy to install and works great!!!
Pros: Clear directions
The actual connector part is nice in the fact that it mates up perfectly with the factory harness connection. What's not so nice is the fact you have to solder or splice all of the wires to the connector that goes to the radio (so much for plug and play). I used some crimp connectors and that helped a lot (the kit really should supply these for the cost). The instructions are a little confusing and you probably will have to call Crutchfield support at some point during your install, like to figure out if you need any of the extra wires that it has. I agree with the other Wrangler owners that there isn't much room behind the radio for the actual module, so you just have to squeeze it in wherever you can.
Pros: The wires are color coded and match the ones from the radio harness
Cons: Unclear instructions, no supplied connectors/splices
Made easy work of install. did all the prep work first
Pros: color coding spot on works great
Cons: bulky takes time to cross reference wire hook up
This module works great. I had 2 Scosche modules that failed when the grid heater kicked on in my 07 Dodge Ram 3500.
Pros: It works.
works fine, made install easier, but did have to call customer serves about extra wires that instuctions did not mention.not a real big deal
Pros: easy to install
Worked liked it said, Instuction pretty poor.
Cons: Instructions need improvement take your time.
Cons: -The instructions are horrible. I probably spent an hour trying to decipher how to connect the wires. -They send you two different connectors but don't tell you which one you need to use. -Takes up a lot of room -Not cheap
Pros: - It does what it is suppose to do. My stereo works - You always have Crutchfields tech support if you need it.
It works flawlessly.
Pros: Easy to install.
Cons: Should come with some wire splices as connections to the radios wiring is necessary. I have connectors here so it wasn't a problem...but if I didn't have the connectors I'd have been PO'd.
Meh, is right. Not sure if this piece is really worth the dollar amount. Kinda confusing because of the 2 small plugs that come with each set of wires.
Pros: One of two harnesses was a match to OEM plug
Cons: Had to solder wires to Kenwood unit after taking out OEM radio and figuring out which harness to use. Not really sure that the PAC actually helped with this install as not much integration with my Wrangler. Costly for basically just a wiring harness.
Awesome product. Simple installation. I had to cross reference the instructions with the installation instructions from the head unit but it only took about 30 minutes to wire up.
Pros: Easy to install
Manual left a little to be desired, but aside from that, it made installing my new radio a breeze!
Pros: Made installation a lot easier than with out it. Big time and work saver.
Cons: Manual is a little hard to understand.
Once connected it works well. The documentation is very poor. It takes rereading a couple of times to understand what it is trying to say and even then you question yourself.
Made installation easy but the skimpy instructions did not mention anything about the extra wires or what to do with them. A call to Crutchfield cleared it up though so no worries.
Pros: Easy to install.
Cons: Scant instructions. More detail would have been very helpful.
I only got this because I was advised that with my jeep wrangler, I needed it so that the new stereo would work. The wiring diagram that came in the package was pretty poor. I had to call Crutchfield a few times to get it right. They were very helpful each time and got me through it. The opening in my jeep was very tight. There was not a lot of room behind the stereo. This adapter is not huge but seems to take up a lot of space where there is none. I had to move it around a few times so I could slide the radio all the way back. If I wasn't told that I needed it I wouldn't have gotten it. I will trust that Crutchfield gave me good advice.
Pros: Only use if necessary
Cons: Takes up extra space where there is none.
Worked good once I deciphered instructions from radio to Interface wiring. We will see if other things work as I get other add on equipment.
Cons: not sure my vehicle needed this complicated of a Interface.
Wiring directions were not ideal but a tech call easily and quickly cleared up questions. Simply solder wires and install.
Pros: Tech call made install easy.
Cons: Directions could be more clear.
fortunately I had a friend to help clear up the spagetti wire mess. Instructions were not clear in this area
Pros: once installed, works great
needs better instructions
Looks a little more complicated than it actually is. Comes with two different connector types. Check the one that applies to your car, connect to radio, plug in and drive. Works great with PAC SWI-RC. Plug and play super friendly.
It does the job. You don't have the need of stripping the wires anymore. It makes the job a lot easier, and if you use the Posi-ProductsT Car Stereo Connectors is even easier making the connections.
Pros: Fast and easy connection with no mess.
Cons: Terminology can vary between units and harness.
Easy work, once you get it all laid out. I use male/female connectors so that I can move them around I don't correctly connect them the first time.
Pros: Plug and play, once you get the splicing done
Cons: It would help to have the wires numbered as well as color coded, for us color blind people.
Figured out which parts I needed, sat at the table and connected everything together. Smooth
Gets the job done. Made install easy.
PAC C2R-CHY4 Works As Designed. The instructions were not 100% clear, but the support line was able to answer my questions.
Pros: Works as Designed
Cons: The instructions were not 100% clear
Just works on my 2010 Dodge Charger with Alpine head unit. The only thing that could make it better is if Crutchfield connected it to the radio for you.
easy to use
I guess I am use to a wireing harness having plugs on both ends, but not the case here. A plug on one end for the car and a mess of wires on the other. The instructions were useless as I also had the steering wheel adapter wires to contend with. It is NOT color matching. I guess I was foolish to thin this was a harness for a Pioneer to a Chrysler instead of anything to a Chrysler. Thank god for Crutchfield being on the ball and able to tell me over the phone (10 minues) what wire to what wire. I then spent another 30 stripping and connecting wires just for the harness.
Pros: it works
Cons: instructions are terrible
Much more involved than I was prepared for. I was under the impression I could just connect a few harnesses together by snapping into some sockets. This setup required me to splice close to a dozen different wires together. I ended up returning the radio to Crutchfield.
Pros: never found any
Cons: Not ready for prime time as far as simplicity.
As always yall nocked it out of the park got just what i needed to install radio in different vehic.
I got this for my 2008 Jeep Commander and like my title says it does what it's supposed to do. The instructions could have a little more clear but I got it with no trouble.
Make sure you tie in the right plug and that is pretty much it.
Cons: I have a 2009 Dodge Ram with the factory amp and had to wire a little differently but workes great.
I used this device on my 2005 Durango to install a new Kenwood navigation unit. While some people complain about the instructions, they covered everything I needed to install it properly. I've done 5 or 6 radio replacements in the past on various cars, so maybe the instructions are easier when you already know what you are doing. Plug and play is correct for connecting to the factory adapter, but like any install, you will need to solder or crimp to the harness for the radio. This worked will with the SWI-JACK to maintain steering wheel controls. The only mistake I made was from reading to fast - if you have the factory Infinity amp, you need to install the front speaker wires from the radio to the rear speaker wires on this box.
Pros: easy to install, works
Simple wiring connetions and easy to follow instructions.
Pros: work great, easy wire to wire color match
Flawless. Dont even consider hooking up your deck with out it.
Pros: Just buy it! You wont be sorry
Used this in my 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab. If you don't have steering wheel controls for your stereo, just tape off the interface marked SWC and let it hang.. Plug the CAN interface into the blue PAC. If you have "extra" wires like I did off the CAN interface (green, red/white and purple/white wires), just tape them off and let them hang. I also had the blue wire (antenna on input wire) extra and just taped it off and let it hang. Clip off the ground terminal on the black wire of the radio harness and connect that black wire to the black wire of the PAC. Use the red press on type wire connectors (18-22 ga wire type) that can be purchased anywhere for all connections. Hope this helps someone.
Pros: It works.
Cons: The acronyms used in the instructions for some wires weren't explained, but they were wires I didn't need to connect to anything anyway.
Fit perfectly on my 2012 Durango.
Pros: Exact fit, no hassles.
Bought this harness for a Pioneer DVD on my 09 Charger. product quality is good. there were two harnesses in the package, so one fits my car. instructions for this harness was the worst i have ever seen. i almost had to call tech support. you prob need to be a prof installer to understand them. and im pretty handy. thats the only reason i gave it 2 stars. if you have a basic 4 speaker system in your car, you dont need this harness. just use the factory harness from your old stereo. you do need this product if you have or are planning to install the accesories such as blue tooth, s. wheel controls, amp, GPS, sirius etc...
Pros: the ability to "plug and play" all the different accesories in your car.
Cons: Price. instructions sheet is useless unless you have a degree in astro physics.
Worked out nicely. Made installation pretty easy. Only thing that would have made it easier is if it had a plug that fit the head unit side too. I understand though that would require making hundreds if not thousands of variations to achieve this.
Pros: Easy for someone with some technical knowledge, free
Cons: Not recommended for someone who knows nothing about wiring
I'll be brief as this is largely a seconding of what others have written. My vehicle: 2010 Jeep Wrangler Sport.
The instructions are poor - they essentially make IKEA directions seem thoughtful and articulate. I had to read them several times to get an idea of what I needed to do. It uses acronyms that I didn't understand, which made things more complicated. The labeling of the items that even came with the packages was poor (there were two adaptors and a plastic box thingy, that I had no idea what to do with).
However, after tinkering with it for quite some time and a little trial and error, I figured things out. Once I did, it did work and do what it's supposed to, so I give credit there.
I felt like this was misrepresented a bit - it said plug and play, and that is not the case. I'd seen true plug and play adaptors in Quadratec for Sony head units that really where plug and play; this requires extensive splicing of the adaptor wires to the head unit (Alpine in my case) to get it to work. Also note that you will have a rat's nest of wires plus the "little plastic box thingy" I mentioned earlier crammed behind your head unit once installed. Plan for a considerable amount of work figuring out how to find a home for all these items before being able to put in your head unit.
Again, works but was much more a pain than I expected. Just wish I would have known the amount of effort it was going to take for installation.
Pros: It works as advertised; functionality once installed was flawless for me
Cons: Horrid instructions Not a plug and play adaptor
Overall the unit seems to work but the instructions are very lacking. Presently my AM/FM is not working due to an antenna issue, it appears to be a trigger issue with the remote power on for the antenna amplifier. Still working out the details if it is a PAC issue or a car issue but the wiring instructions were too vague to be of any help at all.
Pros: Does not require cutting the factory harness or finding alternate switched power.
Cons: Potential issues with antenna and poor instructions.
Great product! This interface allows using an aftermarket stereo with your OEM system. You will not open the box and find a little leprechaun inside to wire it up for you. You will have to read instructions, connect wires, and have a general knowledge of which way is up in order to install this. If you know nothing about wiring electronics, or expect this to be a plug-and-play, TAKE IT TO A PROFESSIONAL TO HAVE INSTALLED!
Pros: Works perfectly. Installed an aftermarket stereo without changing OEM speakers or wiring. For my particular vehicle, I didn't even have to remotely tap into the reverse wire for the camera, it was right there!
Cons: None. Does what it's supposed to.
I gave this two stars because eventually it worked as it should. HOWEVER, my expectations of plug and play and simplifying the install were different than the reality of this product. The package comes with 2 separate adapters and you first need to figure out which one you use. Then you have to match up as many wires to your aftermarket wire harness as you can. Then you have to strip and connect wire to wire. Because the kit itself is quite large you also have to be able to fit it somewhere back behind the stereo where there is limited space to begin with. It took a good few hours all together when the item description leads the customer to believe you can plug in from your factory harness directly to the aftermarket stereo and boom, you have sound. Not the case.
Pros: did end up working, all functions I expected work fine.
Cons: misleading item description and involves intricate detail when connecting separate wires for separate functions.
Unit works well with the CDE 123 in my Dodge Ram. A little extra time required to get Tech support to guide me through the wiring. Crutchfield Techs were extremely helpful with this instal. The PAC techs seemed rather indifferent to my phone call.
It just interfaces the factory harness to whatever came with your new stereo. I got my Pioneer App Radio harnesses and this harness and soldered them together and heat shrink it all.
Pros: Clear identified leads
Cons: little bulky, size of a deck of cards or smaller.
It works wonderfully, AFTER you figure it out. My only complaint is I cannot tune past volume 30 on my aftermarket stereo (out of 40), it causes a cracking in my tweeters (I have a 6 speaker system) This is kind of a turn off and disappointment but I can live with it, I'm not one to BLAST music anyway..I've only had it installed for one day so don't have much hands on experience but I wired everything and plugged it in and it worked!!! I didn't feel like buying another factory stereo and going to the dealer to get it vin programmed so this unit allows the vehicle to program the pac unit itself. I DO recommend it.
Pros: Easy to install, WORKS, Didn't kick on engine light abs light etc like my factory replacement did because I didn't have to get it programmed like I would have THAT.
Cons: Expensive, My personal problem is I can't tune past volume 30 without tweeter issues.
Easy to install and plugged directly into steering wheel adaptor without any splicing of factory wiring.
This worked great with my 2009 Jeep Wrangler. I like having the factory features w/ the aftermarket head unit. Also the Jeep uses a CAN-BUS electrical system and I wanted to make sure that nothing got messed up due to the radio install.
It has now been almost three weeks since I received the car stereo equipment I ordered for my Dodge Dakota, and still I have a gaping hole in my dash with no stereo mounted there. The problem is this PAC interface,Which is necessary to connect my Kenwood head unit to my factory wiring harness.I now have my second PAC interface and still it will not fire up my stereo.I have now made eight calls to customer service, and have spent several hours sitting in my truck ,in near 100 degree heat, trying all the things they recommend I try. They are very patient and helpful, but I still have no music. Now I am told that this interface is probably not wired right for my truck.Crutchfield is a great company, but PAC is making them look very bad. This ordeal may well break me of mail ordering electronic equipment.
very poor directions. I have installed many stereos, full systems, even hydraulic switchboxes and could not get this to work with my car. The product may be great but dont know yetsince I cant figure out the instruction sheet. Definately have a pro install this item.
HAD TO HAVE THIS TO HOOK MY RECEIVER UP IN MY 2010 JEEP WRANGLER,
EASY HOOKUP, EASY INSTALL GREAT PRODUCT
I have a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee with what I have come to understand is a
"frankenstein" factory radio system. I have the basic REF radio. No CD
changer, no navigation. On the surface, that would call for you to input into
Crutchfield's "outfit my car" as "without Navigation, without Boston Acoustics."
This calls for the Chrysler XSVI-6502 harness. This will work, unless, like
me, you have the "frankenstein" system with the basic REF radio but WITH the
factory Boston Acoustics amplifier. This harness will not work with this system.
To determine whether your like me, look into the left vent in the rear cargo
area. If you see the corner of a silver box, then that is the amp. Now you
need to insert "without navigation, WITH Boston Acoustics sound system" into the
"Outfit My Car." This will then recommend the CORRECT harness: PAC C2R-CHY4.
This harness provides power to the factory amp, whereas the XSVI does not.
After almost a month of research and trial and error with several different
things, I finally figured this all out.
Wiring diagram and instructions are easy to figure out. The wiring harness has
two power leads and two ground leads. Just hook both of these together into
your receiver leads.
Hope this helps someone with the same issue. Chrysler's CAN-BUS system makes
for a headache, but this harness makes it easy.
Very simple install, no confusion in wiring diagrams. Small enough to fit in tight
spaces. Would definitely recomend this product over other brands.
The Pac C2R-Chy4 is a great product that maintains factory power accessory,
factory amp turn on, and easy to install for the do it yourselfers.
lot of people told me that it don't fit in my 2008 Ram 1500 with the 4 speaker
system it fits and everything works 100%
it works better the the recommended wiring harness
hope that helps some of you guys
Kit came with 2 adapters depending on you specific connection. Other one not used. I didn'tt
realize the rear Faders would not work. Apparently the Chrysler fader controls are through
the CAN interface. Disappointed in this. Harness quite easy to solder to radio, but not all wire
connections are used in my vehicle. More explanation needed on this.
I've had two of these short out on me now...just bought my third one, I'm a little ticked off but i suppose its my fault for having a new car...my point: buy a warranty/insurance on this one, it gets pricey after the 3d one
Was disappointed in only that I had to splice the wires from the two harnesses together to work. Not a real big, but just wasn't prepared for that and it was explained (at least that I saw) when I ordered radio and harness. Other then that, it seems to work. Just hope the splicing holds.
This product definitely made my aftermarket radio work with my ram"s infinity system. I didn't have to do any cutting to the factory harness or wiring. I would have gave it a 5 star, but the only thing that held me back was that I lost the ability to use the factory video entertainment system. So now I have to remove it and buy a new one that will work with my aftermarket radio. If you have any questions on wiring this product their techs are great. I had a couple of questions while installing it and the walked me step by step over the phone.
I went through other expensive adapters and none of them worked. I called Crutchfield
and they took care of me as usual. Within 10 minutes my Charger was up and going
with its new head unit! SIMPLY OUTSTANDING WAY TO CRUTCHFIELD!
I purchased this harness to install an AVIC Z110 into a 2009 Jeep Patriot, the installation was seamless and the harness makes easily accessible, the VSS and Parking Brake lead, a must have!
Installed this in an '05 Magnum.
Worked as promised.
Just be careful and don't rush the install.
I didn't run into and issues with it.
Worked Very Well For adapting My '06 Grand Cherokee (Factory Boston Acoustics W/ Amp) To My Alpine IDA-X305
Be Sure To Read The Instructions THUROUGHLY! Many Of My Wires Had To Be Bridged L. Rear With L. Front and So On And So Fourth.
Overview: The PAC C2R-CHY4 allows you to replace the factory radio in select Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep LSFT & MSFT CANbus vehicles with an upgraded aftermarket radio. Connectors are provided for either type, and the interface auto detects which CANbus system is connected. The C2R-CHY4 has been engineered to seamlessly interface with your automobile's computer data-bus system and provide necessary outputs for installation of an aftermarket navigation radio, while retaining operation of your vehicle's factory installed amplifier (if equipped). The C2R-CHY4 will even turn on the factory amplifier via CANbus information. No longer requiring the use of a SWI-CAN interface to retain steering wheel controls, the C2R-CHY4 provides a direct connection for the optional PAC SWI-RC steering wheel control interface (541SWIRC, sold separately) for plug and play operation.
Note: Vehicles with a factory amplifier will lose front-to-rear fading capability when the factory radio is replaced. The amplifier's fading is controlled by data communication from the factory radio. The aftermarket radio does not have the ability to control the amplifier's fader.
Compatible Vehicles: This interface is compatible with the following Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, Mitsubishi, and Volkswagen vehicles (as of 1/9/2013).
|Town & Country||2008-2012|

I needed this for an aftermarket install on my 2011 Ram 1500. [ Carlos Jan 08, 2016 ]
Saved a whole bunch of messing around trying to trace wires and figure out what went where. [ Doug Jan 07, 2016 ]
I used this for a 2006 PT Cruiser, but the principle is the same. This part is required for all modern Chrysler aftermarket sound systems. Cars and trucks now use the CAN (controller area network) bus for electronic components. The wiring in a car is multiplexed. It is not only supplying power. The CAN bus is a protocol that communicates with part of OBD (on board diagnostics). If you attach electronic components without taking into account the communication protocol, faults are highly likely. Some sysytems may not operate to prevent damage. Using the interface ensures that the aftermarket sound system will be tolerated/isolated by the vehicle OBD monitors. In my car the dash would display the radio frequency, CD, etc. with the temp and compass reading when factory stereo was in place. With the aftermarket sound system, the display would read VES for vehicle entertainment system. The wiring interface makes the aftermarket behave in the mode of a DVD system and all other systems operate normally. [ JOHN Dec 17, 2015 ]
Hi Tom by not using the PAC c2r-chy4 it will not effect any of your heater controls or cause the car to turn off it only allows for the stereo to intergrate a aftermarket head unit with the factory amp if the car does not have a amp there is no need to use it hope this helps. You will want to contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat to discuss compatibility with your factory system. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and see if this will integrate. If it does not, then they will also be able to discuss other options with you. [ Jeff Nov 27, 2015 ] Staff
Yes. This allows it to communicate to, and through your vehicle. [ CHARLES Jun 30, 2015 ]
If the radio you purchased is not compatible with the vehicle system YES.. I purchased a diff radio for my 2010 Jeep ( after the original was stolen) and the Crutchfield tech said I would need the interface to use my amp system..Excellent advise.. It works great, never a problem.. I live in Guatemala and the installer here had NO problem with the installation and instructions..Worth the money.. Hope this helps.. [ THOMAS Jun 29, 2015 ]
If your using a different deck yes if not all you would need is the rca jacks hooked up to your factory radio but I would get rid of the factory radio and put a different deck in it [ SHANE Jun 29, 2015 ]
YOu need this for any aftermarket head unit. I was gonna wire mine without it. Not possible. Really screwed stuff up. I recommend getting it now. Crutchfield sells it cheaper than at a store. [ DEVYN Jun 29, 2015 ]
