This PAC iPod adapter lets you control your iPod from select 2006-up Alpine car stereos. Your Alpine car stereo must have Alpine's "Full Speed™" iPod control capability. You get the best possible sound from your playlists.

Once connected, your Alpine stereo's Full Speed controls allow you to manage just about every playback function right from the radio's faceplate — jump between artists, albums, and playlists at the push of a button. Album, artist, and song information from your iPod will show up on the radio's display, too.

This adapter works with all dockable iPods and charges the iPod's battery while it's connected. Warranty: 1 year.

Note: Be sure to check "Details" for specific iPod model compatibility with this iPod adapter.

Why would I need an iPod® adapter?

An iPod adapter allows you to connect your iPod to your car stereo, then access your playlists with your stereo's controls - a great idea for several reasons. One, you can scroll through your song titles on your stereo's larger display, instead of squinting down at your iPod. Two, you can route the adapter cable to your glove compartment or center console, so your iPod stays safely out of sight. Three, the iPod adapter keeps your iPod fully charged, so it's ready to rock when you leave your car. And last of all, some adapters bypass your iPod's internal digital-to-analog converter, using your stereo's superior DAC to turn your files back into music.

iPod Full Speed: The iC-ALPF allows you to connect select Apple iPods to any 2006-2009 Full Speed-compatible Alpine head unit. It has an iPod dock connector on one end and a "D-shaped" 10-pin DIN plug on the other end. There is no hideaway box to deal with as with many other iPod adapters.

Alpine Head Unit Compatibility: The iC-ALPF is compatible with select 2006-2009 Alpine head units. These head units have a dedicated iPod Full Speed connector. The cable does not connect to the Ai-NET interface. Once the adapter is connected, the iPod appears on the headunit's display as a selectable source.

iPod Compatibility: This adapter cable can be used to interface a compatible receiver to select iPods with a dock connector. The cable gives you full control and full sound at full speed. You can quickly and easily search through all of the music contained on your iPod through Playlist, Artist, Album or Song searches. Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This cable provides an easy way to access the content on my iPhone. The sound quality is perfect and the iPod controls on the Alpine head unit are very easy to use. However, there are a couple of things I didn't expect. The cable doesn't charge an iPhone when connected. Also, the iPhone cannot be used for any other functions when it's connected - it's locked into "iPod mode", if you will.

Go with this cable I own both and only purchased the PAC because the Alpine was out of stock and found out that this controller is just as good as the Alpine product at a better price.
Thank You Crutchfield.

This iPod adaptor worked perfectly with the Alpine stereo I was installing and an iPod. No muss no fuss. It was simply plug and play.

Album Art and More

Written By Patrick, DuPont, WA on Friday, September 26, 2008

For those considering this cable a few things to understand. 1) This cable will not provide album artwork, in other words using this cable with your iPOD Album Artwork will not carry over at least on the Nanos.

2) You also can't turn off podcasts as you can when an iPOD is USB Connected.

3) Finally go over with a fine tooth comb the compatible iPod generations before you buy. This cable here allows them all with limitations. The USB cable I think offers two generations of certain iPOD compatibility.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The plug part that attaches to the IPOD has a loose wire causing one speaker to play and sometimes causes an ERROR 1 code to display on the radio. Not Happy, look for other cables.
