Got a Bose system installed in your Mazda? Now you can install an aftermarket stereo while keeping your Bose amplifier. PAC's MAZATO interface connects your new stereo to the Bose amplifier, retaining the use of Centerpoint® processing in your Bose system. You'll gain the advanced features of your aftermarket car stereo, while keeping most factory functions — however, with this interface installed you won't be able to fade the sound front/rear or adjust the dash clock. Warranty: 1 year.

If you haven't done so already, please enter your vehicle information or call an Advisor at 1-888-955-6000 to find out if this model is compatible with your vehicle.

Note: Most vehicles will require additional installation parts — please identify your vehicle if you haven’t done so. You can also call an Advisor for more information.

2007 Mazda CX-7
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Another stellar product suggested for my custom dash install. The connector matched perfect to the factory CX7 connector and came with clear instructions for matching up to the Pioneer radio I purchased.

Pros: Perfect match Clear instructions

Cons: Must be somewhat familiar with soldering or jumpering wires together

2007 Mazda CX-7
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Purchsed the module for my Bose equipped Mazda CX7 together with the Kenwood DNX-5180. Easy to install with the included instructions, and works great with the AXXess steering wheel control module.

Unfortunately, the Pac Mazato activates the Bose Centerpoint processing (which I rarely used), at it's "max" setting by default, which adds an annoying distant reverberation to the vocals in some songs, otherwise the adapter works like a charm, and you get to keep the Bose amp (already installed).

BTW, the sound from the front door Bose subs is super solid with the Kenwood, much better than with the stock Mazda/Clarion head unit.

Only wish the Bose Centerpoint processing were adjustable or defeatable.

Product Research

Overview: The PAC MAZATO is a radio replacement interface that retains the use of the digital Bose amplifier found in many Mazda vehicles. The MAZATO interface configures the Bose amplifier for optimal sound quality, retaining the use of Centerpoint signal processing.

Vehicle Compatibility: The MAZATO is a Mazda amplifier turn-on interface for Digital Bose Audio Systems. The MAZATO interface is designed to be used only with Bose data controlled amps in select Mazda CX7s and CX9s. Please refer to the Crutchfield Vehicle Selector to confirm compatibility with your vehicle.

Note: Once the OEM radio is removed, you will no longer have the ability to fade the audio between the front and rear speakers. Also, the clock on the center dash display will continue to operate, however, without the OEM radio, adjustments cannot be made.

Steering Wheel Remote Compatible: The PAC MAZATO can be used in conjunction with the optional PAC SWI-RC steering wheel control interface (541SWIRC, sold separately). One of the plugs on the MAZATO harness plugs into the SWI-RC.

Customer Q&A

Crutchfield asked
Why did you buy this?

Car OEMs are really good about a connection standard to their dash units. therefore, need an appropriate connector between my new unit and the existing car connector so that I don't have to mess with the car wiring. [ Ashley  Jan 15, 2016 ]
