A fresh look and impressive features

Pioneer's stamped their latest receivers with a sleek new look that's designed for user-friendly operation. The DEH-150MP CD receiver's a case in point, with a 12-character display that makes it easier to read song info from music files or the RDS information from your favorite radio stations. And underneath the skin, a simple, intuitive menu structure allows for quick sonic adjustments and song searches.

Pioneer DEH-150MP

Music and media options

This receiver is ready to spin your favorite CDs, whether store-bought or burned at home. And since it plays MP3 and WMA files, you can load up a couple of discs with songs and have enough music for the longest road trips. The illuminated aux input adds a stylish touch to your dash and gives you a convenient place to plug in your iPod®, iPhone®, or any other device with an audio out.

Sound quality that'll satisfy

Pioneer's high-performance MOSFET amp kicks out a lot more power than most factory systems, while the 5-band EQ offers tweakability that you just don't get from regular treble and bass controls. The Advanced Sound Retriever perks up the sound of compressed music files for sound that's close to the original.

Product Highlights:

    General features:
    • CD receiver with built-in MOSFET amplifier (14 watts RMS CEA-2006/50 peak x 4 channels)
    • plays CDs, CD-Rs, and CD-RWs, including discs loaded with MP3 and WMA files
    • detachable face with 12-segment LCD display
    • remote control
    Audio features:
    • 5-band equalizer
    • Advanced Sound Retriever restores highs to compressed music
    • loudness
    Expandability:
    • inputs: front-panel auxiliary input
    • outputs: 2-channel preamp outputs (2-volt rear/subwoofer)
    Other info:

    Why replace your factory radio?

Two good reasons - sound quality and cool features. A new car stereo offers power that's superior to most factory radios, along with more sophisticated tone controls. And most car stereos offer built-in or optional features that add safety and fun to life in your car, including inputs for your iPod or MP3 player, Bluetooth connectivity for hands-free cell phone calls, satellite radio or HD Radio reception, and connections for building an audio system in your car.

Sounds great, easy installation with the Crutchfield instructions. I've bought many systems from Crutchfield and the "free" installation instructions and technical support always keep me coming back. I wouldn't consider buying from anyone else.

Pros: Great system for basic use, which was all I wanted.

This is a nice radio for the money; certainly better than factory. So if you are just looking for a nice radio with good sound to replace a factory radio you will be satisfied. If you are looking for quality sound consider investing a bit more. I am very happy with this radio as I have put it in my old Dodge pickup and the sounds is great compared to what I had. This system can be a little glitchy; the channel on the radio just started changing channels as if I had pressed scan, but I didn't.

I was able to figure out how it works without the manual so I would have to say it is user friendly! :)

It was very easy to install.

Pros: Good value; better quality than factory; easy to install.

Cons: The one I have is a bit glitchy.

Pros: Excels better thsn I could ever imagine.

Cons: After installation I soon realized my right front door speaker is blown, time to replace the entire set front to back!

I can't say enough about this system. My factory system went out on me two months ago. When I got this system installed, it was wonderful. I was smiling so hard my face was tingling. My brother referred your company to me. He even suggested I do the install as it was so easy. Well as easy as it looked and your instructions that accompanied the system I didn't try it. It only took the person who did do the install about 20 minutes. I'm very pleased with my purchase.

Pros: Fantastic system in my 95 Cougar!!!

Cons: I have none I'm finally listening to my music again.

The sound quality on this unit blows away the factory radio. I kept having problems with the 6 CD unit that came with the truck decided was time to replace it.

This unit was a good price plenty of features and the sound is much cleaner than the factory radio.

Pros: good price plenty of features and great sound

Cons: The antenna is flush mount a pig tail would better a lot of the factory radio's don't give much length

I needed to replace an aging Kenwood head unit for my Fathers truck. He needed a CD player and not much else. It was a really fast installation with the purchased Toyota wiring harness. This unit is much stronger and definitely has a better sound than the one removed. I would definitely recommend this receiver to anyone. My dad just turned 74. He was all smiles....

Pros: Ease of installation. Sound is crisp and loud. Simple user interface.

Excellent radio for the money. Only 3 stars for ease of use because the manual isn't really that good. You just need to play with it for a while to learn what it does. 3 stars for coolness because this is a stupid category. It's a radio - deal with it and get over the vanity. I would highly recommend this radio and I would buy it again.

Pros: Great for price point. Easy to set, easy to use

Cons: Instruction manual could be better Clock doesn't stay displayed by default.

I bought the Pioneer DEP-150P radio from Crutchfield to replace a dying Chrysler Infiniti factory radio in my '96 Dodge Intrepid. I also purchased the cable adapter and the in dash panel mounting kit along with the radio.

The deinstallation/installation instructions that Crutchfield provided were very accurate and quite helpful in extracting the original radio, wiring the adapter harness and installing the new radio. I also appreciated the screw cap wiring cap connectors supplied with the kit. That greatly sped up the wiring phase. My biggest problem was figuring out disconnect the cables from the old radio from the Dodge wiring harness. Turns out there are clips on the side of the cable receptacles on the old radio that have to pried open to release the cable plugs. The Cruchfields instructions don.t mention that it is necessary to bend up some metal tabs on the side of the new radio installation shroud to retain the radio to the new front mounting bezel (this is mentioned however in the Pioneer manual that accompanies the radio).

The radio worked first time with no troubleshooting and integrates well with the Dodge Infiniti amplified speaker system. The audio sound is comparable to the factory radio but has a lot of features that the old radio did not have such the station ID display and remote control operation.

Pros: East of installation, low cost, feature set and high performance for the price.

Cons: Initial set up is a bit involved with different menus etc. The Pioneer manual supplied with radio has hard to read somewhat faint print . I recommend downloaded a copy of the pdf manual from the Pioneer web site and printing out the relevant pages and work from them.

This is a good little deck. I bought it to replace the stock player in my 2005 Honda Civic, because the cd player wasn't working anymore. I use a cd player simply to listen to audio books to/from work. This system is easy to use, although be forewarned if you have a Honda Civic, it's very time-consuming and labor-intensive to install this. It took me about 4 hours, because I removed the entire middle console. As far as the stereo and cd player goes- it does the job. The sound quality is great, and I like how it has a smooth volume knob as well.

Pros: -Volume knob -cd player -sound quality -remote

Cons: -display takes time to switch from one type to another
