Features
Motorized 6.5" TFT LCD Touch-screen
Color Display: The
AVH-P5700DVD features a motorized 6.5" TFT Active Matrix, 16:9 wide screen
touch-screen display with an adjustable viewing angle. The resolution of the
display is 1440 x 234 for a total of 336,960 pixels. The screen has an
anti-glare, low reflection coating for better visibility. The touch panel allows
you to control this unit or a connected component such as a CD or DVD changer,
or TV tuner. Menus appear on screen for making function choices, audio
adjustments, and setting up the system.
Display
Angle and Position Adjustment: You can adjust the display's
angle and position for better visibility. The display
slides forward and backward, allowing you to choose one of 2 slide positions.
You can also choose one of 25 tilt angles.
Auto
Open/Close: When this feature is active, the
display automatically opens when the ignition switch is turned on and closes
when the ignition switch is turned off.
Video Adjustments:
You can store numerous video settings for
each source, including brightness, contrast, color and hue.
Flip Down Mode: When an upright
LCD panel hinders the operation of the air conditioner or dash controls, you can
temporarily fold the panel down. After a few seconds in the folded down
position, the panel returns to its original position after a couple of warning
beeps.
Detachable Control Panel:
To prevent theft, the control panel
(the bottom half of the front panel) can be detached from the unit.
Note: There is no case
for the detachable control panel supplied with this unit.
MOSFET50
Internal Amplifier:
This receiver is equipped with a 50 watts x 4 (peak)
MOSFET amplifier for low distortion, high power output. The amplifier is strong
enough to power small subwoofers to moderate volume levels in compact cars and
pickups. For higher volume levels from subwoofers, an optional amplifier may be
connected to the preamp outputs.
iPod Adapter Ready:
Pioneer's CD-IB100ii iPod adapter (item # 130IB100ii) permits direct
control and playback of iPod through the touch-panel. The AVH-P5700DVD can be
connected with an iPod via this dedicated adapter, and using the touch panel,
you can play iPod-recorded songs, scroll through the music library on your iPod,
or select from several functions like Shuffle and Repeat playback.
Satellite Radio Tuner Compatible:
This unit can control an optional Pioneer XM or SIRIUS tuner (sold separately).
TV Tuner Compatible:
With an optional Pioneer TV
tuner (sold separately), you can watch over-the-air broadcasts on this unit.
DSP Controls:
The
AVH-P5700DVD has controls for an optional multi-channel digital signal processor
(such as the DEQ-P8000). With a connected DSP unit, you can apply seat position,
time alignment adjustments, sound field controls, speaker output level
adjustments with a test tone, and set cutoff frequencies.
Easy EQ
Curves: This model has "SUPER BASS",
"POWERFUL", "NATURAL", "VOCAL", "CUSTOM", and "FLAT" preset EQ curves. The
"CUSTOM" curve is one that you create and store in memory. A separate "CUSTOM"
curve can be created and stored in memory for each source.
EQ-EX:
This feature allows you to boost the current EQ setting for even more powerful
sound.
3-Band
Parametric Equalizer:
This unit includes a 3-band
parametric EQ with Selectable Q Factor. You may select a low (40, 80, 100 or
160Hz), mid (200, 500, 1k or 2kHz) and high frequency (3.15k, 8k, 10k or
12.5kHz) to boost or cut within a range of -6dB to +6dB.
The Q factor (slope of
the boost or cut) may be selected from one of the following four options: 2N
(narrow), 1N, 1W and 2W (wide). Selecting a narrow (steep) Q factor results in
frequencies around the center frequency to be affected less by the boost or cut
than they are with a wide Q factor. This feature is useful for taming frequency
response problems caused by the dimensions, materials and speaker locations of a
vehicle.
Selectable
Bass and Treble Cut-off Frequencies:
The cut-off frequencies for the bass and treble controls can be set
independently of the 3-band parametric equalizer adjustments. The bass cut-off
frequency can be set to 40Hz, 63Hz, 100Hz or 160Hz. The treble cut-off frequency
can be set to 2.5kHz, 4kHz, 6.3kHz or 10kHz. The bass and treble controls have
an adjustment range of -6 to +6.
Adjustable Loudness:
You can select "Low", "Mid" or "High" for different levels of loudness
compensation.
Source
Level Adjustment (SLA): This function lets
you adjust the volume level of each source to prevent radical changes in volume
when switching between sources. Settings are based on the volume level of the FM
tuner, which remains unchanged. Each source can be independently adjusted from
-4 dB to +4 dB.
High-pass Filter: When you
don't want sound in the subwoofer frequency range output from the front and rear
speakers, you may activate the built-in high-pass filter. You may select a
filter frequency of 50Hz, 80Hz, or 125Hz.
Subwoofer/Non-fading Preouts:
In addition to the front and rear preamp outputs, there is one set of outputs
that may be set for "subwoofer" or "non-fading" output. When set to
"non-fading", the signal is full range and the output level is user selectable
from -6 to +6. When set to "subwoofer", the outputs are non-fading, and they may
be set for normal or reverse phase, 50Hz/80Hz/125Hz low-pass output, and the
level is user selectable from -6 to +6.
Rear Channel
Output: You
can choose to use the rear channel output (speaker and preout) for full-range
speaker or subwoofer. If you select "subwoofer", you can connect a 4-ohm
subwoofer directly to each rear speaker lead without using an external
amplifier.
Supertuner
IIID AM/FM Tuner: The Supertuner IIID features
Feed Forward Control, which avoids multi-path interference. This pre-detection
of interference enables quick filter control and results in less distortion. In
addition, the Supertuner IIID creates enhanced stereo during multi-path
interference, unlike conventional tuners that collapse to mono. Digital
processing reduces distortion, and improves Signal-to-Noise Ratio and stereo
separation. Advanced analog technology improves signal processing sensitivity.
MP3/WMA Playback:
This unit can play MP3/WMA files recorded on CD-ROM, CD-R, and CD-RW discs in
ISO9660 Level 1/Level 2, Joliet, and Romeo formats. MP3 files with a bit rate
from 8-320 kbps and WMA files with a bit rate from 48-192 kbps are supported.
CD-R/CD-RW Skip Function:
Some CD-R/W recorders allow you to assign skip ID tags to tracks that you never
want to hear. When a track has been assigned a track skip ID, compatible units
will recognize the skip ID information and skip over that track. This player
recognizes track skip IDs, so CD-R and CD-RW discs with skip ID information will
be played back as intended.
Disc
Title Memory: Titles of up to 10
characters each can be entered into memory for up to 48 discs. When a compatible
changer is connected, titles of up to 10 characters each can be entered into
memory for up to 100 discs in the changer.
Optional Aux Input: When used
with item 130CDRB10 (sold separately) or item 130CDRB20 (sold separately), this
unit can accept input from an auxiliary source, such as a portable CD or MD
player. When item 130CDRB10 is used, a CD changer cannot be connected to this
unit. Item 130CDRB20 allows you to connect an optional Pioneer CD changer and an
auxiliary source to this unit.
Dimmer:
You can select the brightness level from
three settings: daytime, evening, and nighttime viewing. After setting the
brightness level, the unit uses an ambient light sensor, located on the top of
the monitor frame, to automatically adjust the brightness to an optimum level
within the setting range you've selected.
Display
Illumination/Clock Display:
When the Clock Display has been turned on, pressing and
holding the source button turns off audio output, but the clock display and
screen illumination remain on. When the Clock Display has not been turned on,
pressing and holding the source button turns off audio output, but the screen
illumination remains on. In each case, the button illumination turns off. If the
Illumination Switch option is set to on in the Initial Settings menu, the button
illumination will remain on when the unit is shut down.
Warning Tone:
If the front panel is not detached from the head unit within 5 seconds of
turning off the ignition, a warning tone will sound. This feature can be turned
On or Off.
Optical Digital Output: The
optical digital output (proprietary connection) on the rear of the head unit
allows you to connect an optional Pioneer digital audio processor.
Rear View Camera: The head unit
features a function that automatically switches to the rear camera image (Rear
View Camera In jack) when a rear camera is installed on your vehicle. When the
shift lever is in the reverse position, the screen automatically switches to the
rear view camera. You can also see the image of the rear view camera during
normal driving.
DVD/Video CD Features
Multi-Angle Display: This
function allows you to choose the viewing angle of scenes that were shot from a
number of different angles.
Note: This function is
limited to DVDs recorded with multiple camera angles.
Widescreen Modes: You can
choose from the following widescreen modes:
- Full:
a 4:3 picture is enlarged in the horizontal direction only, enabling you to
enjoy a 4:3 picture without any omissions
- Just:
the picture is enlarged slightly at the center and the amount of enlargement
increases horizontally toward the ends of the picture
- Zoom:
a 4:3 picture is enlarged in the same proportion both vertically and
horizontally; ideal for a 16:9 screen
- Cinema:
a picture is enlarged by the same proportion as Full or Zoom in the
horizontal direction and by an intermediate proportion between Full and Zoom
in the vertical direction
- Normal:
a 4:3 picture is displayed as it is
Scan

characters each can be entered into memory for up to 100 discs.
Disc Title
List: This feature
allows you to display disc titles that you have entered.
From the list, you can select a disc for playback.
CD Text
Display: When used with a CD Text
compatible Pioneer CD changer, this unit will display the titles of CD Text
encoded discs that are played in the changer. When playing a CD Text disc on a
CD Text compatible changer, you cannot switch to the Disc Title Input mode. CD
Text disc titles, artist names and track titles longer than 19 characters may be
scrolled to reveal the entire string of text.
CD Sound
Quality Adjustment: Using the "COMP"
(compression) and "DBE" (dynamic bass emphasis) functions, you can adjust the
playback quality of the changer. Each function may be set to one of two levels

softest sounds when played at high volumes. The "DBE" function boosts bass
frequencies to give your music a more full sound.
Note:
For these functions to work, they must be supported by the Pioneer CD
changer.
DVD
Operation: This unit can control an
optional Pioneer DVD player or DVD changer.
