Now you can use most Android phones with your Pioneer App Radio 3 or multimedia receiver with AppRadio Mode. The Pioneer CD-AH200 app connectivity kit comes with all the necessary cables and adapters necessary for connecting your compatible Android device. The kit includes:
A set of easy-to-follow instructions takes you through the potential wiring configurations, so you can get connected on your next drive. This connectivity kit works with compatible Android devices and the following receivers:
Warranty: 1 year.
it is all you need
The Pioneer HDMI to Micro USB will not work with your Samsung product. You will however be able to use the HDMI cable, and the USB to Micro USB cable. You need to purchase a Samsung SAETH10FAUWE 11-Pin Micro USB to HDMI Adapter to get your Samsung to talk to your AppRadio. The HDMI cable provides the picture to the AppRadio. The USB cable provides the power to keep your Samsung operating. Those two cables go into the adapter and connect to the phone via the 11 pin micro usb on the Samsung adapter. Since this is new cutting edge technology I would not blame Crutchfield. They just need to keep on top of these things as best they can.
Cons:Crutchfield response on January 6, 2016 Because of this customer's review, we've now updated the specific Samsung adapters needed to work with these Pioneer receivers. This information can be found in the "Details" section of our online presentation.
Cables needed to use Pioneer radio.
All cables seem to be good quality and it is nice to have everything included in one package. If you can get these for a decent price, not a bad purchase. Know that you aren't forced to use these cables in order to connect.
Pros: Quality, all cables in a single package
Cons: Can be pricey
This is an awesome product! My Galaxy 6 edge work with my Pioneer 7100nex perefectly!
Works good for connecting android to my app radio
Pros: Easy to use
Cons: Should come with a Samsung adapter
This packaged contained, what I would consider, an outdated adaptor. Just about every Android phone now users a standard micro connection. Inside this package, there is a mini connector, which did not fit my phone. Now I have to spend a little more, to buy a micro HDMI adaptor if I want to connect my phone via HDMI.
After a recommendation from Crutchfield I bought this kit with my receiver to connect my phone to it. Not one of them is for my phone. I told them the model phone I had. If you have a Samsung Galaxy S5 you can't use this kit. You need a USB 3.0 cable, like the one that came with the phone. I guess they aren't bad. They look like they would work well. Just not for the S5.
Pros: Look well made.
Cons: Not for Galaxy S5.
Right parts and set up is simple. Does not work with all smart phones.
Pros: Simple set up comes with all necessary equipment decent pricing.
Cons: Does not with with Galaxy Note 4 The hdmi cord is short when attempting to run to a center console
Cool package, every thing I needed in one box for my Pioneer NEX-8000.
I ha e tried several phones imcludimg the LG G3, Samsung Mega, motox and none connect using the mhl adapter. Followed installation instructions and none will connect. Also noticed the huge difference in compatible apps for iphone versus android.Im gonna try connecting an iphone with recommended cables and see what happens.
Cons: Cant get any android to connect using mhl adapterCrutchfield response on September 24, 2014 Unfortunately the phones Bob listed are not MHL compatible phones, which means they won't work. You can take a look at Pioneer's compatibility chart to find phones that will work with the MHL connector.
I used this kit to hook up my T-Mobile HTC m8. Rooting the phone with appradio unchained made my whole system awesome. I have the appradio 3 stereo and everything is flawless. Installing was simple.
Pros: Easy install, cables are sturdy and well made, great price for the open box item
Read the research tab, lots of essential information there. Beware you've likely more kits/adapters to purchase in addition to this one. I spent over 100.00 on this stuff to get my Samsung GS4 to play.
I bought this kit to take advantage of the App Radio apps I had read about. There aren't that many apps out there. You have to plug 2 cables into your phone to take full advantage of them. I have a new Samsung Galaxy S5 and was told that I would need another adapter to go between my phone and one of the cables. I am returning this kit.
Cons: See my review.
I didn't know that the Moto X does not support MHL so this product did not work for me with my current phone. However, The cables did work with my old Galaxy Nexus, but i found i was trading most of the features of the head unit (4000 NEX) to just run everything off my phone since you can't for instance, use Google maps and also play something from your SD card inserted into the HD at the same time. Yes you can do this with the phones music, but I found the quality of the music was much less coming from my phone than it was from my HD SD card. So until Parrot makes a new 7" Android 4+ head unit I will enjoy my Pioneer NEX.
it works as advertised.
Pros: works well.
Cons: my only critique is that i wish there was an option to flush mount the female ends for a cleaner look. as it is now i have cables hanging under my dash.
WONDERFUL. I have long wondered why a car unit couldn't use what was already on my cell phone. YOU CAN. This is ANDROID compatible. We are using a Samsung S4 but most of the Bluetooth features could probably use any phone. There are some functions that need certain phones but most of what is used everyday can be accessed with Bluetooth. The display is very good. The installation is straight forward. It would be nice to have an plug outlet to mount rather than have wires hanging out og the dash to plug in. I am looking for one now. Since you are using map apps from your phone that are ALWAYS UPDATED. No hassle or expense keeping them updated. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this unit. First, it is VERY REASONABLY PRICED, it is pretty straight forward, although it has possibilities we have yet to explore, it has only been install a couple weeks. You can add on backup cameras, steering wheel controls, etc. LOVE-LOVE-LOVE this unit.
Pros: ANDROID as well as i-Phone compatible Bluetooth does most of the needed everyday connecting needs. You are using apps from your phone which you are familiar and that you can tweak while in the house/work, etc instead of having to sit in the car. You can, of course, answer your phone through the unit as well as make calls, etc
Cons: Car didn't come with it It wasn't sold with a plug interface to mount on the dash instead of having wires hanging out, so you have one wire for you phone and possibly one for you i-Pod or i-Pad if you are using Androids.
Works perfec on my app radio 3,,just plug and play.
Pros: Good quality, work great!!!
Cons: You need an extra adapter for android 4
The item works very well but Some Samsung phones you will need an adapter that causes another $40 that adapter replaces the MHL. Also the replacement HML from Samsung will not plug into the phone if you would have OtterBox you will have to take the case off.
Pros: Works very well once hooked up.
Cons: Another $40 to replace the HML adapter if you have some Samsung phones like the galaxy s4
Works flawlessly. Excellent addition for us Android users. Simple set up with my HTC Rezound and Pioneer App Radio 3.
Pros: Does exactly what it says it will do
Kit has everything you need, good quality cables. May not be cost effective as you could buy just the cables you need vs having extras.
Pros: You will end up with extra cables Quality cables Kit takes the guesswork out of figuring out what cables you need as it has everything for iPhone or Android devices. Both those with a separate HDMI port ( i.e. Droid Bionic) and those like the Samsung Galaxy with the HDMI integrated into the charging port.
Cons: All cables can be purchased individually if your willing to research the hardware required.
Great product, great fit, works great.
Cons: Too many parts, wires and attachments, rather bulky.
This contained every type of connection I could have needed. Because my head unit came with 1 USB extension, this added a 2nd. I connected both USB extensions plus the HDMI and have flexibility to connect any android phone. This is important since not all drivers/passengers have the same phone and may want to share their screen or music.
Pros: cable quality, lenth, variety of types
Did not work correctly
Cons:Crutchfield response on January 6, 2014 We forwarded this review to our Technical Support team for follow-up. Lifetime tech support comes with every Crutchfield purchase.
Good product. Allows direct connection of my Galaxie 3 phone to my new Pioneer system.
Pros: Makes use of Pioneer's App Radio functions. Very handy and fun.
Cons: Very long cable. I have a two seater, but if I had a back seet At it would probably reach. Kind of cumbersome.

I wanted numerous choices to hook up various electronics to the head unit. [ Jason Feb 04, 2016 ]
I needed a USB cable to plug my smartphone into my Pioneer 8100 NEX to make the Google Auto work. [ Jonathan Jan 25, 2016 ]
OK only one Samsung is for the s3 I wonder if it work with s5 [ kenny Mar 17, 2015 ]
Hi william. I have a Samsung Note 3, when I bought my pioneer, after much research, I found the only place to get any of the adapters for hooking up my phone thru my new Pioneer, was at Samsung itself. I ordered it online and it was priced fair I thought, still using it today and works great. Hope that helps! [ DANIEL Mar 17, 2015 ]
I bought one from the Samsung section of local retailer [ Michael Mar 17, 2015 ]
The fact is this kit is useless to you, you will have to use the Samsung MHL connector so just buy that a USB extension and an HDMI cable. [ JACK Jun 02, 2014 ]
Yeah, you don't need the adapter that comes with the unit. You need an hdmi cable (included), a micro sd cord fir power (included), and the Samsung MHL that is a little rectangular box with hdmi in and micro sd in and out (out to phone....in from unit...for power). Good luck. Works well with the s4...more so than the s3. Kris Williams, Esq. CA. [ KRIS L May 27, 2014 ]
You can try it n if it works just return the adapter kit....I just bout it cause I don't have an mhl so I'm not sure dude [ DAVID May 25, 2014 ]
I'm sorry I haven't be able to get it to work. I really Have not messed with it. I have been putting it my remote start alarm. [ KEITH A May 25, 2014 ]
MHL is necessary for video mirroring. Data connection happens via Bluetooth. [ Anup May 24, 2014 ]
You do need the hdmi cable and usb to micro usb if you have an indash dvd player unless you have one sitting around and your radio has to have an hdmi input. This kit also has a micro usb to female hdmi cable. Some phones require the micro usb to usb cord for extra power and if I remember correctly your phone does need it. [ CHRISTOPHER M May 24, 2014 ]
I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: Shouldn't have a problem charging the Android phone as long as it's plugged into the back USB port. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. [ Krissy Mar 22, 2014 ] Staff
would this be compatible with my galaxy s3? and if so couldnt i just use my own phone cable? i already have the cable that was included with the radio. so wouldnt i just need my phone usb cable? [ Moose Mar 18, 2014 ]
This does look like it compatible with the Droid Razor Maxx. You can see a full list of compatible phones here: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/UnAssigned-Content/Android+Compatibility [ Jeff Feb 26, 2014 ] Staff
