Our take on the Pioneer CD-i200 iPod® Interface Adapter

You've loaded your music library onto your iPod — now take it on the road. Pioneer's CD-i200 iPod control interface gives you convenient control and charging of your iPod from compatible Pioneer car stereos. And the simple one cable connection eliminates the bulky adapter box found with many iPod adapters.

The CD-i200 lets you control iPod playback right from your Pioneer's faceplate, scrolling through your playlists to pick out the tracks you want to hear, while leaving your iPod stored safely out of the way. The interface's fast, smooth operation eliminates annoying lags, and, with a compatible display, you'll get multiple lines of information for album, artist, and song name. You can even use the touchscreen on select Pioneer stereos and video screens to manage your iPod.

Compatibility Note: Be sure to check "Hands-on Research" for specific iPod model compatibility with this iPod adapter.

In Album mode, the unit randomly selects and album then plays back all the tracks in that album in order, then chooses another album, etc. In the All mode the unit plays all songs recorded on the iPod in a random order.

Charging iPod: When the receiver is on and the iPod is connected, the iPod is supplied power for playback and to charge the battery. In addition while the iPod is connected to this player, the iPod itself cannot be turned on or off; the iPod will turn off about two minutes after the ignition switch is set to Off.

Note: The CD-I200 will not charge the iPod touch (2nd/3rd gen.) or iPod nano (4th/5th gen.).

Connection: The CD-I200 consists of a single 6.5' interface cable with an iPod dock connector on one end and a proprietary Pioneer connector on the other end. The cable is made to plug in between the dock connector port on your iPod and the iPod interface port on the rear panel of your compatible Pioneer head unit.

DOES NOT WORK WIth IPOD 6TH GENRATION

Written By JB, Sherman Oaks, CA on Monday, December 26, 2011

You should warn all customers that this cable does not work with 6th generation ipod nano
Pros:
Worked perfectly with my 1st generation iPod Nano. The I stupidly sent this iPod back to Apple for their battery replacement program.
Cons:
Apple sent me a 6th generation ipod as a replacement and, guess what? It does not work properly with this cable. When you connect it the unit the display freezes at the 'iPOD READY" readout until you disconnect the iPod and then reconnect it. Then the unit will only play ONE SONG AT A TIME. You have to MANUALLY push the skip button to get the next selection to play.

Pioneer CD-i200 iPod® Interface Adapter

Written By Brian, Minneapolis, MN on Sunday, March 08, 2009

Excellent product! I currently use this adapter with an iPod touch. It was
very easy to install, and it has been nice having the ability to control the
iPod from the stereo. This adapter also allows me to keep the iPod out of
sight in the glove compartment.

This product works great. When I plug my ipod into this cord which is connected to my radio I am able to change the songs on my ipod without having the distraction of trying to change them while I'm driving. Thank You Crutchfield for selling this product.

won't charge 2g touch

Written By jessebo, IN on Monday, February 02, 2009

this is a great product. I have been completely happy with this product, but I have recently upgraded my Ipod to a 2g touch model, and it won't charge my ipod. I keep hoping they'll come out with an adapter, but so far, Pioneer hasn't done it. if your looking for it to charge your newer model ipod, you will probably be disappointed.

Awesome Product

Written By Sam, Wellesley, MA on Tuesday, January 27, 2009

I am satisfied that I purchased this product because it works well with my I-Pod and had no problems using this. It was an easy installation. I got rid of my FM transmitter (which had some static problems on the road) and now I have no static problems. I would recommend this product. Good price and fast shipping! Thanks! 5 Stars
