USB Interface Cable For MirrorLink: The Pioneer CD-MU200 interface cable enables MirrorLink compatible devices from smartphone manufacturers such as Samsung and Nokia to connect to Pioneer's AppRadio 3 or NEX series head units. With the proper app installed onto the MirrorLink smartphone and connected to the AppRadio 3 or a NEX series head unit using the CD-MU200 cable, MirrorLink gives you a custom interface so you can access your music, map services, and your phone from the in-dash Pioneer AppRadio 3 or NEX series head unit.

Compatible Smartphones: Compatible smartphones included the Samsung Galaxy S III (w/ Android iOS) and select Nokia Symbian mobile phones. Compatible Samsung and Nokia phone models, their launch timing, as well as app compatibility will differ by country or origin.

Downloadable MirrorLink Apps: The following apps (Drive Link and Car Mode) must be downloaded to your compatible smartphone before using MirrorLink.

  • Drive Link for Samsung Galaxy S III (Android): To use MirrorLink with your Samsung Galaxy S III, the free "Drive Link" application must be downloaded from Samsung Apps and installed on your compatible Samsung Galaxy S III smartphone. Once downloaded, individual apps are grouped into three categories (Music, Location, Phone) for easy access.
  • Nokia Car Mode w/ MirrorLink: To use MirrorLink with your compatible Nokia smartphone, the "Nokia Car Mode with MirrorLink" application ($29.99) must be downloaded from the Nokia Store and installed on your compatible Nokia smartphone. Once downloaded, individual apps are grouped into three categories (Call, Drive, Music) for easy access.

MirrorLink Control: The Drive Link or Nokia Car Mode smartphone app lets you quickly access specific apps for music playback, car navigation and maps, as well as hands-free telephone communication directly from the Pioneer AppRadio 3's touchscreen.

  • Music: You can listen to every music file stored in the smartphone. You can search for your music files by Favorites, Playlists, Artists, Albums, or All Songs.
  • Location (Drive): You can navigate via Google Maps. You are able to speak and type destinations. The app provides you with an on-screen map screen and audible directions.
  • Phone (Call): The app retrieves all contact information stored in the smartphone. You can make and answer phone calls from the head unit's touchscreen, just as you would normally do on your smartphone. The head unit will even read aloud text messages and let you reply.

USB Connections: The CD-MU200 includes two interface cable; a 58" USB extension cable (w/ a male USB type-A connector on one end and a female USB type-A connector on other end), and a 19" USB adapter cable (w/ a male microUSB type-B connector on one end and a male USB type-A connector on other end). The 58" USB extension cable's male USB type-A connector plugs into the USB port on the rear-panel of the AppRadio 3 or NEX series receiver. The 19" USB adapter cable plugs into the USB extension cable's female USB type-A connector and the female microUSB port of your compatible smartphone.

Works as advertised.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
Looks like a oversized USB cable, but I was told I needed it for my AppRadio 3 to function properly. I didn't try a regular usb cable. It works, no issues so far.
Quality product. Works as advertised.
Pricey, looks just like a regular USB cable.

What adapters do I need for a note 3? [ louis  Sep 06, 2014 ]
1 answer
  • For note 3 you'll need samsung mhl adapter. You'll also have to root phone to disable knox & selinux. Or you can use allshare adapter but then you won't have touch functionality. [ LUIS   Sep 08, 2014 ]
have the Samsung galaxy s5 is this compatible? [ haggettlaura  Jul 13, 2014 ]

  • Yes it does. Had an iPhone and switched to an active S5 and it works as good. Love the S5 by the way as well [ ROBERT D   Jul 13, 2014 ]
  • Yes [ DARIUS   Jul 13, 2014 ]
WIth a galaxy s3, do you need to use an MHL adapter for this to work? (thinking about using with AppRadio3) [ Aaron  Jan 10, 2014 ]

  • Yes. Also With that little adapter just for s3's sold online or from Samsung. MirrorLink is not required if you are using mhl. Figuring out what cables I needed for this was the most awful thing to go through haha but with a rooted s3, an appradio Unchained, it works great [ Eric   Jan 10, 2014 ]
  • I just bought the Appradio 3 and I am using the Galaxy S4. I installed it last weekend however I had to buy an additional cable kit that Crutchfield no longer carries. It is the MHL adapter CD-AH200C. You also need the Samsung HDMI smart adapter EPL-3FHUBEGSTA for the S3. This weekend I will complete the install. Looking forward to using the radio with all the features. [ David   Jan 10, 2014 ]
  • Yes you have to the mhl adapter I recommend buying it from Samsung the ones on auction sites don't work well the give a snowy display [ christopher   Jan 10, 2014 ]
  • Hi,Yes, you will need an MHL adapter. I tried and returned a few options and ended up going with the Samsung HDTV MHL adapter from a local chain store. The HDMI output and AC adapter output link up to the adapter, so the phone can charge while using the dash. [ CINDY   Jan 10, 2014 ]
  • Im not sure.didnt get it yet.ive been reading s3:has to be os 4.1.2 ice cream sandwich. JELLY bean 4. 3 doesn't even work at all. [ CHAD   Jan 10, 2014 ]
  • I believe that is the one you need with a Galaxy S3. I have an I phone 4S and this was sent to me by accident. I am not real sure what is different between this and a standard micro USB though. You might try your std Micro USB CABLE FIRST AND SEE IF IT WON'T WORK [ ROBERT D   Jan 10, 2014 ]
