Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Plugs right into a Pioneer DEH-80MP. Works great for plugging an Ipod up. Other than needing another adapter cable for the analog signal.

Product was easy to install, shipped quickly, and have had not had any problems with it so far. I bought a $7 Hosa RCA to 3.5mm cable from Amazon to go with it.

Pros: Easy, good sound

Cons: Price - expensive for such an old and small item

Its Working

Plugged it in, IPhone works thru the aux port,. what can I say? Be sure to get RCA to IPhone adapter - we had one. Don't expect anything more than IPxxxx output as advertised and you should be OK

Pros: Easy to install - if you kept the tools to pull the radio out

This product does exactly what I expected it to do. I have absolutely no
complaints. You will also need a cable such as Monster Portable Music Player
Cable which has stereo mini to dual RCA plugs.

I can now use my mp3 player to listen to music.

works... if you have the special Pioneer DIN radio removal tools

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought a Pioneer CD/receiver a couple of years ago, before I had an iPOD. Now that I have an iPOD, I wanted to play it through the receiver, so the CD-RB10
adapter seemed like the perfect solution. Except I no longer had the two L-shaped special Pioneer DIN removal tools. Kudos to Pioneer for making it almost impossible to remove their car audio components without the Pioneer removal tools. I even still had the box the radio came in, but had to buy the tools.

Works as advertised

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I used this product to hook my Creative Zen V Plus MP3 player to my Pioneer DEH-P3800MP head unit. It was a piece of cake and I am impressed with the sound coming out of my system now. Plus, I don't have a problem with cd's skipping anymore. I drive a Jeep Wrangler which tends to be a little bumpy and caused cd's to skip.

Great product!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Install of this product was very easy! I wanted to listen to my iPod on my new deck and the sound quality after installing this cable is incredible! It's even clearer than CD playback. I highly recommend this product if you are in the market.(this was installed on a Pioneer DEH3800MP deck)I needed to purchase a cable to connect to the adapter. I also use this for the DVD player and it also sounds great. Can't wait to take a long road trip!

Irresistible improvement

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Do not feed your iPod into a Pioneer via FM! It limits bandwidth, particularly deep bass, and introduces noise at all times - not to mention the broadcast station interference that is everpresent when you travel. The IP-interface device plugs in and gives you back your CD sound from the music on your iPod. Best $35 I ever spent.

Fantastic. I purchased the CDRB-10 to connect my five year old ipod to a pioneer head unit. It is so sweet to ride to work listening to my tunes. If your ipod is an older model like mine this is the way to go.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased this adapter to use with the Pioneer DEH-P47DH radio. The unit is much smaller than it looks in the pictures and is easily hidden in the dash.

Sound quality is great. I do have to turn the volume on my MP3 player up all the way, but after than, the sound is as clean and strong as the CD player.

You may possibly need a ground loop isolator

Written By John, Louisville, KY on Monday, July 03, 2006

It's a pretty simple piece of equipment that gives you awesome sound from anything you put into your car's head unit that can hook up to RCA cables. You just plug the thing into the AUX port and that's it. The hardest part is getting to the back of your head unit.

One word of advice. You may need to use a ground loop isolator. My setup was a 2000 Honda Civic, RoadyXT plug and play, and when using the direct feed into the head unit with the CDRB-10 it gave a constant high pitch hissing noise. No noise if I used the FM modulator. So the only thing that got rid of the sound was the ground loop isolator.

Great and Easy!

This is a very handy product. Just plug and play. No fuss. The only thing that would have been better is to build one for free!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The Pioneer CDRB10 is by far the best bang for the buck item I have purchased in the last few years. The install took less than 10 min. but I spent about 1 hour in my Jeep just listening to various songs because I was amazed by the quality of the sound. If you are thinking about buying one of these for your iPod do yourself a favor and order one Crutchfield has a 30 return policy that you wont use on this item.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is an easy way to connect any auxilary device to your Pioneer head unit. It's easy to install and I easily connected my iPod by using this with the Arista Stereo Mini-to-RCA Adapter. The quality it many times better than a FM modulator. The volume is pretty low to begin with, but I believe that is to keep an auxilary device from frying the head unit.

I certainly recommend this as a reliable, easy, and inexpensive way to connect an mp3 player.

I also recieved my order in under 24 hours. Crutchfield rocks.

This is such a great addition to the stereo for the IPOD. It was extremely easy to install (about 5 minutes) and sounds great with the IPOD. I had the FM transmitter, but this sounds about 1000 times better. You can't go wrong here.

Simply Put... Awesome

If you have an I-Pod (or any mp3 player), don't waste your time on anything else!!! Installation took about 5 min and the sound quality is great (just turn your volume to max on the I-Pod itself).

Best way to get your iPod into your Pioneer

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is by far the best way to directly interface your iPod into your Pioneer head unit. Installation is quick and very, very easy. And if you purchase this fine product from Crutchfield they will back you up every step of the way. Don't waste your time or money on Pioneers expensive iPod interface. They cost about $120.00.

This produce works well, and is easy to install, but as stated in an other review the volume does seem to be a little lower through the AUX. Other than that this is a great addition to my pioneer head unit.

CDRB10 AUX Input

Written By Mnason, Kansas City, Mo on Friday, November 04, 2005

The product works fine. It does what it is does suppose to. The only negative side of the Pioneer CDRB10 is that the volume outputted from the head unit while using the AUX input is a good amount less then the normal output. However, this seems to be a common problem with AUX inputs on head's just kind of annoying. Overall, it's a decent product. It does what it's suppose to, sounds good, clarity is fine, and volume is a little disappointing.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have 2 Pioneer CD receivers (DEH-P7400MP& DEH-P3700MP), one for my pickup, and one for any large truck (semi) that a lucky trucking company puts me in! After purchasing an aftermarket XM Radio, I purchased 2 of these input adapters to hook up my "XM SkyFi2" receiver in both vehicles (I swap the SkyFi from vehicle to vehicle to boombox). The adapter puts the SkyFi's FM modulator to shame by providing crystal-clear quality sound. If you're sick of constantly changing the frequency on internal FM modulators and head units, this adapter is a must have, and Crutchfield is always there to give you the help that is necessary to install it.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

As said below, i used this adapter to plug in my ipod with the addition of a monster RCA to mini headphone caple. I too have tried the FM transmiter and was somewhat satisfied until i heard the sound from my new head unit. Amazing clarity, and you are not limited in volume like you are with the FM transmiter so you can blast it with no distortion. I am using the DEH-3700mp. Instalation was very easy and crutchfield was their when i needed some help getting the head unit to recognize the AUX adapter. They supply everything, they help with everything, they have everthing. Simply put, crutchfield is the best, hands down.

Best Solution for iPod interface to car stereo

Written By Justin Harringa, Des Moines, IA on Sunday, July 10, 2005

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

If you have a Pioneer head unit and you're interested in connecting your iPod to your car stereo this is BY FAR the best solution. All you need to do is get an RCA to headphone (1/8" jack) cable such as the Monster iCable. I have tried all of the FM transmitters and the iPod interface for Pioneer decks and this the best if you would like to take full advantage of your iPod in you car stereo while maintaining EXCELLENT sound quality. Don't waste your money on the expensive solutions. They will only let you down.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I got this product plus a cable for only $45, instead of spending the same amount of money on an iTrip for my iPod mini. It's far superior quality when using an iPod when compared to the iTrip or any other FM transmitter. You get a seamless connection to your Pioneer receiver for little cost. Plus you get to keep the speed and convenience of your click wheel. I have an older DEH-P200 receiver and it works fine. Just make sure you enable AUX on your Pioneer or it won't work. I would highly recommend this product to anyone with an iPod who is fed up with crappy FM reception.

Hands-on research

What's in the box?

  • Female RCA to blue IP-Bus adapter
  • Instructions

Product Research

Compatibility: This adapter allows you to input line level audio signals to any Pioneer head unit with an IP-Bus connection (P-series CD changer input), except the KEH-P1010. Also, the adapter can be used to send line level audio signals from the tuner included with the Pioneer GEX-FM903XM FM modulated XM Satellite Radio package (item 130FM903XM) to any brand of head unit with an AUX input.

  • When this item is connected to the IP-Bus connection of a Pioneer head unit, a CD changer cannot be connected to the head unit. If you want to add RCA inputs and retain the ability to connect and control a CD changer, use item 130CDRB20, instead of this item.
  • When connected to the IP-Bus connection of a Pioneer head unit, the device connected to the RCA ins must have an output voltage of 1 volt or less, or it must have a volume control so its output can be lowered. If the signal voltage is higher than 1 volt, the unit will distort and/or be damaged.
  • When connected to the IP-Bus output of the GEX-FM903XM XM Satellite Tuner,  you'll still need to use the wired remote/display to control the tuner.
  • This adapter has female RCA connections, so, depending on the jack(s) found on the device being connected to this adapter, an RCA-to-RCA or RCA-to-mini-jack patch cable will be needed.
