The CD-SB10 adapter lets you control a SIRIUS satellite radio with your Pioneer stereo. This adapter works with newer Pioneer stereos equipped with a CD changer connection, letting you control either of the following:

  • the SC-C1 SiriusConnect™ universal tuner;
  • a compatible SIRIUS portable radio, like the Sportster, Starmate, Stratus, or Stiletto, together with a SiriusConnect™ vehicle kit.

The CD-SB10 adapter sends song text to the Pioneer stereo's display, and lets you browse SIRIUS channels by using your Pioneer stereo's controls. The adapter powers your satellite radio and includes a pass-through connection, so you can add another piece of Pioneer gear to your car stereo system.

Note: A subscription to SIRIUS is also required. Satellite radio service is available only within the lower 48 states — not available in Hawaii or U.S. territories. Limited service is available in Alaska.

    • works with SC-C1 SiriusConnect™ Tuner or plug-and play SIRIUS satellite radios
    • provides control of your SiriusConnect-compatible radio through your satellite-ready Pioneer car stereo
    • displays text on the stereo and supplies power to the satellite radio
    • warranty: 1 year
    • Our 60-day money-back guarantee

Works for what I need it for. This combined with the other part sure makes it bulky. You will need plenty of space in the dash for this. I installed it on a 10 dodge challenger.

    Pros: works fine

    Cons: bulky

    works perfect

I plugged it in and it worked. I use Sirius a lot and really like the service.

Cons: I wish they'd start building everything into the head units so all these extra gadgets wouldn't be necessary.

This product was very simple to install. And once intalled, we were listening. Me daughter would rather sit in the car then listen to her stereo inside the home. Now considering a home kit as well. I never thought I would satelilite radio. Thank you

    Pros: No commercials

Only one line displayed at a TIME!?!? What a bunch of crap! Artist, Radio Station, or Song - but you can only see one at a time. Doesn't Pioneer know that SIRIUS and XM are the same company now, and have been for years. At least you get to listen to SIRIUS thru your Pioneer head unit. I know now to go with an Alpine or Kenwood next time.

Pros: Can listen to SIRIUS Radio

Cons: No Multi-Line Display with SIRIUS.

Watch for the bus connectors - I assumed since the head unit and this item were both Pioneer products blue would go to blue. That is not the case, I had to pull my dash back apart to change the connections on the back of this item.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

So, my saga begins around 6 years ago when I bought an SIR-PNR1. At first I was thrilled, as I finally had Sirius on my head unit like many other people have said. Then about 2 years ago I bought a new Pioneer head unit DEH-P6900UB which has multi-line display. As you all know, Pioneer does not support this. So that brings me to today. I got on Crutchfield to look specifically for a new model Pioneer Sirius tuner. I was ecstatic when I saw a new one that reportedly transmits multi-line text!! I ordered it immediately. To my dismay, I get the package to find out the SC-C1 is a Sirius product that supports multi-line but the CD-SB10 is a Pioneer product and does not!!! Needless to say, the whole thing is going back. I am going to try to sell my SIR-PNR1 along with my Pioneer head unit and CD changer and will buy another brand of head unit that has full Sirius support. I'm done with Pioneer.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have a Pioneer head unit that is less than a year old. I have an i-pod hooked up to it, and it gives me all the information I could want. I also have a Pioneer CD-SB10 and a Sirius SC-C1 hooked up to this radio. It gives you the choice of artist or song, not both or anything else. I called Pioneer, hoping that I could upgrade the CD-SB10 to give me the same amount of information that I get with my i-pod. I was informed by a customer service rep, that they have been associated with XM for a long time and that people with Sirius can live with it or not. Even though this company sells a box to recieve Sirius that gives you nothing and the same company sells an XM box that gives them all of the features. Sirius recomends Kenwood, Alpine, and Sony. I will never buy anything that has the Pioneer name ever again in my lifetime.

    Horrible, just plain horrible.

This "thing" is not worth the packaging that it came in. I had this connected to the SCC1 Sirius tuner. This unit kept locking up, the sound from Sirius was much lower than any of the other sources, and the sound quality was not that great. If you are looking into Sirius and have a Pioneer head unit, please go with a plug and play. Stay away from this!!!!! I highly recommend the Pioneer 920XM unit. I replaced the Sirius Connect equipment with the 920XM unit and have been satisfied ever since.

    Sirius CD-SB10 interface

Written By livinfulltilt, TN on Sunday, August 16, 2009

I have an AVH-P3100DVD and purchased this so I could swap my sirius subscription from my old sportster to my new deck. Here are a few negatives about this unit with my deck
    1. It would be nice if the artist name/song title/station were all displayed at once. You can see each of these by pressing the info icon
    2. At first this unit did not have sound once my subscription was active....after re-tracing every wire in my install I found that both ends of the BUS cable are the same and can be plugged in "backwards". As soon as I swapped the ends, it worked flawlessly. Perhaps this is the case with some of the other reviewers and why they dont have sound...?
    3. Size of the interface box. My laptop is thinner, i have a palm that does MORE, and pioneer is trying to convince me that this is the best that they could do?? It would have been nice to slip a "palm" sized interface underneath the dash...
    4. The interface itself. You buy the interface AND still have to buy a sirius tuner just for the antenna? Cmon pioneer, you're killing I have to hide 2 equally large interface units and wiring!!
    5. PRICE. A netbook can do 1000+ more things and can be had for @ $250.

    what a joke!!!!

Yes you guessed it ,I also have problems with mine locking up. Had to pull the fuse and reset it.
Glad I looked here in the reviews and found the answer.
I can't belive Crutchfield even sells these as bad as they are.
Three months out of warranty, again I say what a joke!

Works great... Would like to be able to change the channels with a keypad though, instead of one at a time.

Great when it works, but there is a fix:

Written By Todd, Memphis on Friday, February 13, 2009

Like others have posted, the unit will freeze up. The freeze manifests itself as having no sound from Sirius in my case. The display of channels, artists and songs works, but you get no sound.

Mine finally locked up hard and I started searching for any information I could find before investing in a new unit. I found it in the other reviews here. It appears that the power spikes from starting your vehicle can lock the unit up. Usually it will reset the next time you start the vehicle, but occasionally it doesn't. Using the info I found here, I pulled the fuse and reset the unit. It worked after doing that.

So, I rewired the power to tap it off the ACC wire. That will help to make sure it resets cleanly when you start the engine. I'm hoping this will permanently cure my problems.

Have only had one freeze up. Works well otherwise. Would like to see artist and song displayed and instead of "preset 1,2, 3 etc" would have like to have seen the channel name come up.

    Buy something besides Pioneer

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Run from anything Pioneer. I had to buy this unit to replace the one I bought for my wife for Christmas last year. This all begins in about June, the original unit shot craps. I send it back to Pioneer for replacement, cost about $9 Fedex, later after several phone calls to find out why I haven't received a replacement and several they are out of stocks we hope to have one soon. I finally get one, it doesn't work, and they tell me it was a refurb not new like I paid for, another $9 Fedex, yea the unit is bad, but guess what they are out of stock and discontinued. It's all good though, just buy the new model and we will reimburse the cost. I do and send in the invoice, unit + shipping, get a check for $10 less, we don't reimburse shipping charges. So now I'm out $29 shipping, 2 months Sirus fees, and to top it all off, Sirus charges me $15 to reprogram the new unit.

    Good, but still buggy

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

As the other reviewers have stated, this unit is prone to freeze ups. In my case, the unit
interface still works, but no sound is supplied. Seems like a power issue. Very annoying, but
there is really no alternative and when it works, which is a majority of the time, its a great
piece of equipment. Note that when it freezes, it knocks the sound off for any other interfaces
    connected through the IPBus...

    No More Dash Clutter!

Written By steve, Lafayette IN on Monday, April 14, 2008

Although I used the front aux input on my Pioneer DEH-P6800 and had
great sound from satelitte radio, I got tired of cords getting snagged and
just not having a clean look around the dash. So I installed this unit along
with the SC-VDOC1 car kit. As the other reviewer stated, this unit can and
will freeze up. Mine did the day after installation. Receiver showed the
display, but gave no sound. Reconnected power lead of adapter box to a
red(switched)power source and have had no more problems. Do wish the
Pioneer HU would display artist/song title just like plug&play receivers.
    Overall, very good product.

    Most of the time,
    this unit performs
    as expected.
    Unfortunately, it's
    prone to freezes
    where the user will
    have to remove all
    power to it in order
    to reset it. This
    is great if it's not
    mounted in the dash,
    or the fuse panel is
    easy to reach. Used

You can display information of the games while enjoying the sound from currently your currently tuned station. You can also tune to the broadcast channel of the game.
