I spent a lot of time trying to get this remote to work correctly, not!!! It seems that when mounted on the wheel it does not have the needed angle to the head unit to work correctly. If I rotate it out about a half an inch it will work, but then it gets in the way while turning the wheel. It may work correctly on some vehicles, but not on my 2010 Tundra. It works just well enough that I did not send it back, but not what I expected.

Ok, I recently purchased this along with a new pioneer head unit, and this is without a doubt the biggest waste of money I have ever spent! When i first opened the unit, i was having difficulty getting this item to control my stereo while attached to my steering wheel (which is less than 16 inches from the front of my unit)I contacted crutchfield and they shipped me a replacement. Guess what? not any better. I have now attempted mounting this from every angle imaginable, and the result? it works about 25% of the time. One thing i did notice is that the unit seems to issue its signal from the base of the piece not its head, so even if you find a place to mount it that it will control your stereo, the fob is upside down and you will invariably hit the wrong buttons. I wished there was a way to give this item negative stars......a total waste of money!

How simple can it be?

Picked this unit up with my Pioneer Head Unit / Satellite Radio set. Used in a 2000 Chevy Silverado. Put the battery in it, used it with my hand to check operability and it was fine. Strapped it to the steering wheel and it was fine. Everything worked perfectly. The ONLY issue I had was that it slipped around the steering wheel a little. Obviously loose but I put it on during a cold day and the strap probably expanded a little. I just got this truck so I put a leather steering wheel cover on, covering the remote attachment strap and it's firmly in place now. This thing is great - especially the ATTENUATE feature. No more 'volume up/down' issues at the drive-through!

Good idea

I purchased this to help with inattentive driving. It was easy to install and looked good on the wheel. I really liked the idea but it would not work in my '94 GMC Serria. I tried many different ways and it just would not work in any combination of light or dark or location. I even tried a new battery. If it was 5 inches directly in front of the reciver it would work. Good idea but didn't work for me.
