Great looks, playback variety, and lots of power — the DEH-P3700MP is one kickin' receiver! Its detachable face sports a multicolor display that's easy on the eyes, and easy to see. It also features a rotary volume knob for quick and easy adjustments.

All your music will sound great, thanks to the heavy-duty, built-in MOSFET50 amplifier. And the Supertuner IIID grabs hold of your favorite AM and FM stations with ease and broadcasts them clearly.

Easy EQ lets you apply five preset EQ curves, then adjust them with the 3-band parametric EQ, so your music will always sound robust. And if you'd like even more power and depth, you can connect external amplifiers to the two sets of preamp outputs and power some subwoofers for hard-hitting bass.

As if that weren't enough, you also have the option of connecting a compatible satellite radio tuner to enjoy over 120 digital channels of music, news, sports, entertainment, and much more (XM or SIRIUS antenna and subscription also required).

Why replace your factory radio?

Two good reasons - sound quality and cool features. A new car stereo offers power that's superior to most factory radios, along with more sophisticated tone controls. And most car stereos offer built-in or optional features that add safety and fun to life in your car, including inputs for your iPod or MP3 player, Bluetooth connectivity for hands-free cell phone calls, satellite radio or HD Radio reception, and connections for building an audio system in your car.

I bought this unit a while back and it is just totally awesome. I am currently using 2 pairs of pioneer 4 way 6x9 speakers powered by and external amp (audiofonics 200watts RMS x 2).I give pioneer 5 out of 5 on all their products.

Unbelievable overall quality from transaction to self-installation

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Before knowing Crutchfield, I've never done anything on my car. I happened to come across this website and was quite convinced that I can install a high-quality CD/MP3 player on the dashboard. Shipping was lighting quick and the little quidebook and harness (free of charge) helped me get through the task.

I can't still believe I actually did it myself. Plus, the sound quality of this specific player is simply amazing.

For your information, I installed this unit on my 2001 Corolla S. If you have the same car, then you need to get rid of the grey plastic rim and the metal cage(?) which covers about half of the unit on top of the actual body.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is the first aftermarket deck I've purchased and I'm very happy w/ my purchase. The installation was very smooth, and the adapter that Crutchfield supplied made installation a breeze. The deck itself looks and performs great. A definate step up from the dull factory deck.

Great unit for a great price

Bought this unit for my wife's 2004 Hyundai Elantra about two months ago. It was easy to program and the layout is very nice. The sound quality is great and for the price, can't be beat.

Better than expected

I love this deck. The only thing that I hated about the install was not due to the product. I actually was able to install it pretty quick, but my Cavalier had to be the most difficult car to work with. Thanks to the instructions that came from Crutchfield, I was able to install it no problem. The sound quality is nice and the wiring kit came with the sound retention so it still feels like factory. I plan to look for speakers to replace the factory ones, so I will be looking for great deals.

Acceptable replacement for my tired old radio. Was told the SLA was a ambient noise feature mistakenly by Crutchfield staff. Very disappointed to find out that it's a preset volume feature when changing bands. I was looking for a radio with speed control volume that automatically increased volume with speed and staff was apparently unaware or unable to understand what I wanted.

[Editor's note: The customer is correct, and we have checked to make sure our product database now correctly describes the Source Level Adjustment feature.]

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Installation was a cinch with Crutchfield's mastersheets. I spent maybe 60-90 minutes crimping the supplied Nissan wiring harness to the Pioneer's harness, double and triple-checking the crimps I made. When it came to actually installing the headunit, every screw was where it was described, and the center console disassembled exactly as it was supposed to. The actual installation into my dash was uneventful.

I put the negative terminal back on my battery, turned the key in the ignition to ACC, and VIOLA!!!! IT WORKED!!! Sound is fantastic, bass (with OEM speakers) was thumpin', highs clear, etc. The unit is easy to use, and, while the volume control is small, it works just fine. This is a fantastic unit; not too much bling, but great power and sound! The pre-set equilizer settings are perfect, and the switchable loudness is a nice touch. While not every CD has text encoded on it, this unit can display it when they do. It'll also play WMA's, MP3 disks, etc. If you want to hook up Sirius or XM, this unit can even control them, too! Next: hook up the MP3 player.

With my order, I bought an adapter that plugs into the back of the headunit and terminated with 2 male RCA plugs. I hit Radio Shack and bought a Monster MP3 cable, took apart the dash again to install the cable, turned on the player.... nothing. Absolutely nothing. 1 quick call to Crutchfield, and it's perfect!! THANKS!

This is a great stereo. It has plenty of features and works great with the ipod interface. The only issues I have with it are the lack of a mute button and the detachable face seems to shift when pressing buttons and seems flimsy. Both issues were rectified by adding on the optional steering wheel mounted remote.

Great CD Player

Written By Ryan, WV on Sunday, November 06, 2005

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased this CD player to replace the factory radio and tape deck. Installation went fairly smoothly considering this was my first time installing a car CD player. Crutchfield's installation guide was a big help. However it had one section about taking the antenae apart that I definitely did NOT need to do. So if you a '89 Sunbird, skip that. Crutchfield gave me all the adapters need, and amazingly the order arrived about 27 hours after I ordered it. The included mounting bracket and face plate make it look like it belongs in my car, even though it originally had a very odd setup (radio and tape player were separated by a storage compartment).

The player really brings out the sound, even with factory speakers. You are able to set the EQ settings to your taste. I have driven on some very bumpy roads, and it hasn't skipped yet. It has an aux input, so I will probably be hooking my iPod up to it sometime. The remote is also a nice bonus. The reception on the radio is much better than the factory one.

The drawbacks:
- It doesn't read the CD text. You have to manually input the CD names, or just leave them as untitled.
- The controls to change settings seem a bit more complicated than necessary.
- There is no dimmer function for the screen or buttons. However they aren't overly bright, so it isn't that big a deal.

Overall it is a great CD player.

Quality head unit for the price

Written By zx10rrider, Salt Lake City, Utah on Thursday, November 03, 2005

There are a few draw backs about this Pioneer (DEH-p3700MP) head unit. However, for the price you may choose to over look certain issues. The Pioneer has a powerful wattage (50X4) rating, and sounds nice when listening to CD's and certain radio stations. The EQ feature is handy and easy to use. However, the display is to small, and the FM/AM preset buttons are tiny. This unit features a "Tuner IIID" feature which is suppose to increase FM/AM radio receiption and sound quality. Radio receiption was average at best. CD sound quality playback is not up to snuff when compared to the Alpine head unit CDA-9847 which I also own. Yes, the Alpine head unit costs $50.00 more, but the Alpine's radio and CD sound quality is a level above the DEH-p3700MP's. Also, the Alpine has a larger, less busy display (which displays more text from enabled CD's) and larger FM/AM preset buttons. The Alpine unit has a lower power rating than the Pioneer (RMS) but sounds more powerful. Also I prefer the Alpine over the Pioneer because of button placement. As a driver your reach is closer with the Alpine when searching for CD title tracks than with the Pioneer.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I shopped around for a Head Unit to replace the factory system in my 1992 Maxima and judging by all the positive reviews here I chose this one. Thanks to Crutchfield's top notch support and included wiring and antenna equipment it was a snap. The hardest part was removing my old factory unit from the bracket as the screws were in extremely tight. Now I need to upgrade my speakers and I know I will be coming back to Crutchfield once I have decided which ones I want.

missing a few necessities

Written By Bill, Denton, Texas on Saturday, October 29, 2005

Not a bad system, worked well the two weeks I had it. (it was stolen so let that be a lesson to everyone, take your detachable face with you) However the system lacked some key features. For one it was not easy to pause or mute the system with out the remote control, and it also lacked the ability to read regular cd text, you had to manually input the track info. (blah) Anyway all in all a good player if you can keep your hands on it...

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Great radio and CD player! I replaced this in a '93 VW Eurovan w/minimal stress, and the best part was my young kids even got to help out with the soldering and heat shrink! The OE unit was really bad (Panasonic made for VW) and even replacement speakers couldn't prolong its life, but, once this unit went in, wow, the audio in the van really came alive. The easy EQ is a nice touch for instantly tailoring sound to specific types of music, and the ability of the unit to play MP3s straight off a CD w/o ripping is really a convenience I wish I had taken advantage of earlier. There's a lot to like about this unit because it has so many features at this pricepoint. The instructions from Crutchfield were incredible, and that alone has got to be worth whatever the price of admission is! Kudos to Crutchfield and Pioneer for a great combo.

Nice bang for the buck...

Written By DevilPaul, Albany, NY on Saturday, October 08, 2005

Bought this unit to replace the OEM stereo in my 2001 Ford Escape and I'm quite impressed. At first it seemed a little tricky to use all of the features but after spending 30 minutes fooling around with it while reading the manual everything is clear. My Pioneer deck is being used with the factory speakers for now and man... what a difference! Everything sounds so clear to me with this baby driving the audio. The layout is nice, I really like it. My only gripe is how some of the buttons are labelled. I also have an Aiwa MP3 CD player in my 1999 Ford Mustang and the Aiwa has clearly labelled buttons that say "Folder" and "Track Display" when you navigate an MP3 CD. So compared to that unit this is a little different but it's not something I'd consider a deal breaker or giving me a difficult time. Overall this is a great unit for the price and sounds awesome.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The Pioneer DEH-P3700MP is an excellent unit! I replaced my factory 95 Grand Am Se radio with this and I couldn't be happier. The unit brought life into my OEM speakers (though I replaced the 6x9s with Kicker 05KS69 6"x9" 2-Way Speakers and the 4x6 with Kenwood KFC-1069S 4" 2-way Speakers). I love all the features.
The Aux input in the back is great for an MP3 Player - you will need the Pioneer CDRB10 (P-Bus MCD To Aux Input Adapter) though.
Based on my research, I found that the "Monster Cable THX-Certified Mini to RCA Audio Interconnect Cable (8 Feet)" is better than the Monster is also cheaper!

Installation was very simply. The free "General Motors Kit 1983-up, S/ 1983-up, S/E, 0/.5/1-inch extension" and "GM Wire Harness receiver, 1985 receiver, 1985-up" was great!

Finally, Crutchfield was excellent. I got all the needed accessories (wire harness and manuals) to install this unit.

This receiver is worth every cent! Was pretty easy to install, I have a Mercury with premium sound option, so I had to go through the trunk to the dash with a new harness that bypassed all the OE harnesses. This took some time to do, but it was worth it. Awesome sound!!!!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I installed the P3700MP in just about an hour with absolutely no problems in my wife's '99 Olds Silhouette. I did purchase the PAC adaptor in order to keep the steering wheel buttons active but once my wife saw how easy it was to use the remote, she said to send the PAC back. The sound, even on the stock GM speakers, is awesome. Since it is SAT radio ready, I am considering upgrading later.

This is the second time I have installed a car stereo using Crutchfield supplied products. This was the easiest installation. I just don't understand why a person would pay hundreds of dollars for someone else to do the job. One side benefit was my 12-year-old son helped me with the wiring and soldering (I am colorblind). A little bonding time never hurts.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Excellent system and highly recommend. Only 3 very minor issues....

Anntena connection in 2000 Corolla on left side of stock radio. (as viewed from front top.) This deck has it on the right. Bit of an exercise in getting anntena connected during install.

The volume knob is somewhat hard to grasp (too short) and requires too much turning (i.e. is not sensitive enough).

The remote control has "pause" and "attenuate" functions, but no buttons on the deck. (Hey Pioneer.... suggestion: How about 4-way toggle to replace volume knob? Left = Pause ; Right = Attenuate; Up = Volume up ; Down = Volume Down)

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is a great unit that I used to upgrade my '99 Accord EX coupe. The sound improvement with the terrible 15W paper-coned Hecho en Mexico speakers was quite phenomenal, so replacing them with Kenwood 3-way 6X9's in the rear deck and 2-way 6-1/2's in the doors made it complete. If you don't really want to install a subwoofer, this units loudness switch will fool most occupants. The unit also has front-sound enhancement and front- and rear-channel rca jack outputs on the rear. One thing I would mention is that the display is not dimmable and for those who like a dark cabin while night driving, this can be initially disturbing. Taking apart a dashboard is always a hoot, and Honda has several nice connectors to address in this removal. But the directions, mounting and adapter were all exact fit, and I gained some additional stowing space immediately under the new unit. The FM tuner in the unit is quite sensitive, and works well with the Accords embedded in glass antenna. CD sound is exquisite whether it's Pink Floyd or James Galway.

Great Stereo For The Price

Written By rgardin99, Texas City, TX on Monday, August 08, 2005

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I ordered this stereo for my 2002 Civic and was very pleased to see how it went into my car with the supplied wiring harness and dash kit. I would have liked to keep the factory compartment under the stereo, but just because it had the door to keep closed. It took me less than an hour since I already knew how to take out the stereo for that model. I would agree with a lot of people that the volume button is small, but as long as you have the remote you should be okay. You also need to play around with the audio settings to get it just right. Also, for some reason when I put it in, the fuse blew on my dash lights, I found this little problem when I was driving home later that night. A spare fuse was under the hood and the problem was solved.

The "Pioneer DEH- P3700MP" unit is such an improvement over my stock radio, it exposed a factory speaker deficiency in my 2004 Acura RSX. It is also nice to have the ability to play MP3's. Who needs a CD changer when you can fit 300 songs on 1 disc?
The instructions from Crutchfield made the installation a breeze. It has been a remarkable experience and I have returned to purchase speakers. Great Job Crutchfield!

A great replacement for the factory install. It has a long list of features and they are easy to access and change as needed. Some reviews were critical of the size of the volume knob, but I think the design is good and you can always use the remote if you need to:) All around I'm very pleased with the stereo as well as the detailed installation instructions Crutchfield provided.

Great sound with easy to use controls similar to an ipod.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

My wife's JVC 12 disc CD changer went bad so we decided to convert to MP3. Our short list came down to Kenwood MP5028 and the Pioneer 3700MP. A stong consideration is that it must be easy to use because one MP3 CD-R disc can consists of approximately 100 songs. I downloaded both users manual and found that the Kenwood was difficult to understand and probably difficult to use. The Pioneer was easy because it had a "four button navigator" feature that is somewhat similar to an ipod. For example, if you want to play the 3rd song to the 5th folder (or album), you simply press the "down" button 4 times to advance to the 5th folder and the "right" button 2 times to advance to the 3rd song. I don't see how it can be easier than that! All you have to do is remember to arrange your MP3 songs in folders (or albums) when you burn your CD-R. The remote is well thought out and we now have complete control to easily navigate the 100 songs on each CD-R disc. If you want to switch to display the time, you press "clock" button. If you want to adjust the equalizer, you press "EQ" button. (Get the picture?) We don't recommend buying a receiver that has complicated controls especially while driving. We are also happy with the sound. The only drawback was the 2.2 preamp output voltage since we are using the BMW amp to drive the speakers and not the speaker output. The sound levels are loud but not superloud. However, if you intend to use the speaker output and not the preamp output, the low preamp output should not be a problem to you. The other issue is that the rear adapter to connect to an exterior MP3 player cost $35. Overall, this receiver should be on your short list.

Great head unit for the price

Written By PT, Burke Va. on Friday, July 15, 2005

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is a great head unit for the price. I've installed it in my '05 Escape. I had a MACH300 system in the Escape and what a difference between Ford's poopy "premium sound" and this system. Even though I lost the sub-woofer controls and power (which i'm going to put a new amp and sub in)the new system is way more powerful and even makes up for the (temporary) sub loss.
I'm running my ipod thru the system's aux port. Its sounds great!
The only downsides are that Pioneer did not provide a case for the removable faceplate, apparently this is "new" this year. Also, the volume knob is a little difficult to turn if you have large fingers. Its recessed in too far.
C'mon Pioneer! Spend 59 cents more and put a case in the box!

I did some window shopping for about about a week before finally deciding to go with this one - and the unit has greatly gone above my expectations. The mastersheet, included kit, and wiring harness made the first time I've ever installed a car stereo a breeze. It took longer to hook up the wires to the harness than to get it in the Expedition. MP3's, WMA's, CDs - my fiancee is thrilled! I got the Aux adapter so that we could use the XM Sky-Fi in the vehicle as well and it sounds great! I'm definately buying from Crutchfield when I decide to upgrade the head unit in my Frontier.

Well what can I say about this radio/cd/mp3 player. It's a piece of cake to install, easy to operate, and the remote is convenient. I suppose the only thing is that too many features are placed on the remote instead of the radio, but that's hardly a big deal.

For the price you're getting a great radio and with good power. I matched this to the Alpine SPS-170a's and all I can say is that it sounds wonderful.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I replaced a stock radio/casset unit in my 98 Saturn with the Pioneer DEH P3700MP radio. The Crutcfield person steered me to this unit because it came with all the necessary connectors and car specific mounting hardware. I ordered on a Sunday evening and the unit was there the following Tuesday when I arrived home from work. Installation could not have been easier unless someone had done it for me: instructions were superb. The sound quality is head and shoulders above the stock unit. I do note, as in another rating that the volume control is a little hard to use and requires too many turns to change the volume level. A great buy, though! Crutchfield is Number 1!
It is a great radio with excellent sound

Good for the money

Written By Peter, Berkeley Heights, NJ on Wednesday, June 22, 2005

I bought this CD player because I wanted one that read WMAs as well as MP3s. So far, I am really pleased with its sound. It really is worth the money. Think about it; if you bought a receiver and a 12 disc changer, you would spend over $250. With this MP3 player, you can copy those same 12 discs to one and not have to worry about loading multiple discs.
The only complaint I have about this receiver (which is why I gave it four stars) is that it doesn't have a pause or mute button on the unit. If someone calls me on the phone, I have to fumble around for the remote to try to pause. That should have been designed better by Pioneer. Other than that, it's great.
Lastly, Crutchfield is the way to go. I got a really nice player with the installation kit for free. This costs less than a cheaper player elsewhere where you have to buy all the kits. Plus, Crutchfield's directions were easy and right on.

Great Stereo.....

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this radio for my father for his birthday and was surpised how easy it was to use. Basically the big knob for the volume, up/down arrows to change the preset channels, and the left/right arrows to change/seek the channels.
My dad was thrilled with it, he has some annoying aftermarket radio in his other vehicle.
The sound quality is great compared to the lousy Dodge Dakota stock radio.

So I ended up buying the same radio for myself... Highly recommended.

A few minor shortcomings, but still a great deck!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is a sweet deck. The MP3 functionality works exactly as advertised, the power output is nice and strong, the remote control is cool, the display is classy but not distracting, the EQ control is nice, etc.

A few minor quibbles:

(1) The volume knob is somewhat hard to grasp (too short) and requires too much turning (i.e. is not sensitive enough).

(2) The remote control has "pause" and "attenuate" functions, which are great when you see a cop and need to kill your subs pronto (see issue #1). However, the deck really should have buttons for these functions. Pausing is buried in a menu (?!?) and I haven't found attenuation anywhere.

(3) No dimmer. This isn't a huge deal, but the display can get a little bright at night.

However, this is still an excellent deck, especially for the price, and I'd heartily recommend it in spite of the minor flaws.

I like it

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I like it a lot. Ease of install, operation, the whole deal.. Except! The volume knob requires too many turns to lower or raise the volume level. One turn, 360 degrees, should take you from min-max.

That's all.

I purchased this receiver because the 2002 Monte Carlo I bought only had a radio. I could not be more pleased at the moment. The only beef I have is that the installation was a little harder than I would have imagined but tech-support was a life saver and I was able to get the system installed with little trouble after that. As for the power, its a great system and I will have to be buying some new speakers to really show it off. Thanks Crutchfield and Pioneer!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bought this stereo to use the optional AUX input on it to connect my XM radio to it. The stereo has a great sound and offers alot for its price. XM radio sounds much better connecting direct rather than using FM modulation. Crutchfield provides everything you need for a smooth installation of the system. I had no problems. Going elsewhere would mean paying more for the extras you need to install the system. Would highly recommend this stereo and dealing with Crutchfield.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This receiver is great. IT has all of the functions I need, and the sound quality is MUCH better on my stock 98 Altima speakers. I had some trouble with the fitting of this unit in my car along with some antenna power problems, but the crutchfield tech phone service is the best. Great receiver for the price.

Review . . . and a question

Written By slavi, Los Angeles, CA on Monday, June 06, 2005

I just purchased this head unit and had it installed in my car. It runs great, and I am really happy with it.

One problem.

I use it to also get XM satellite radio directly (I had to buy a tuner and an adapter separately). I cannot get the head unit to store my favorite XM channels.

I know that (according to the instructions) I should press one of the preset buttons (1-6) for several seconds. I have tried it and it does not work - I keep the preset button pressed but nothing happens. It does not store anything.

If you have a solution to this problem, please e-mail me at

It really is as good as the reviews

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased this head unit as a replacement for the factory radio in my 2002 Ford Exploder. I wanted XM and MP3 capability. After reading thru the reviews I figured the Pioneer 3700 would be fine. The installation went amazingly smooth and the sound from the Pioneer was excellent. It took a little bit of time to read the manual and set all of the treble/bass/fade/balance, etc. settings but reading the manual helped me exploit all of the units capabilities. All in all, I can't believe what a great unit this is for $149 and the sound from the factory speakers was much better than expected.

Very, Very Nice

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I really like this unit a lot. I was looking for a radio that has an Aux input for an iPod. This unit is more than I expected in many ways. I like the MP3 and WMA capability. I think this is the most flexible, capable unit at its price point. I can still add amps, changers, or sat radio systems to this radio.

I don't like the looseness of the faceplate, but every unit I looked at in stores had exactly the same problem, only the Alpines worked well in this area. I think the volume knob is on the small side. It feels hard to grip. The cost of the aux input adapter $30 to $35 is ridiculous, but even with that this radio compares favorably to the other high quality units between $150 and $200.

Over all it is a great buy.

Crutchfield's service and support is truly top notch and the installation is a snap. It took longer to wire the harness than to install the radio.

Outstanding receiver, easy install with Crutchfield's kit

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I won't restate all the good things that have been said here about the Pioneer DEH-P3700MP; the (so-far) perfect 5-star rating on this receiver is well deserved.

After deciding on the 3700MP, I did considerable on-line price shopping and did find it slightly cheaper elsewhere, but of course I would have had to purchase the installation kit and wiring adapter. Knowing that Crutchfield would send all the proper installation accessories, provide very detailed installation instructions - including phone support - plus stand behind the product in the event of a problem cinched the deal for me.

It took me less than one hour to install the receiver PLUS a Sirius SIR-PNR1 tuner in my 1999 GMC Sierra. Using the Crutchfield-supplied brackets and adapters, the receiver slipped right into the dash and powered-up without a hitch. No surprises, no problems.

Overall, I am extremely happy with my purchase of the Pioneer 3700MP from Crutchfield.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Pros: Excellent sound quality, good power, intuitive controls, nice classy display, handles MP3/WMA discs that are so old even my computer can't read them, very tolerant of cheap or scratched media, skip-free even on rough roads, outstanding FM tuning, remembers disc position when turned off so it'll restart at the same place when you get back in the car.

Cons: No dimmer for night driving, no radio scan (seek only), face plate is a little loose and wobbly even when securely attached.

Overall: Very happy. The cons are all minor and don't detract from how good the unit is. I'd expect this level of quality in a receiver costing much more, at this price it's a real steal. Crutchfield's service and support are top notch. It's refreshing to talk to tech support people who know what they're talking about and CSR's who genuinely care about helping.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I recently purchased this unit because I thought the right channel had completely gone out in my 96 Chevy Blazer (turns out both speakers were blown instead). None-the-less, I am quite happy with the performance of this unit over all. The detachable faceplate does not feel quite secure while in place and operational (there is a little bit of play even when unit is operating). And while the upper volume range is quite powerful, the lower volume levels do not have quite enough power for my tastes. Overall, quite pleased with the unit and the price paid was low compared to other places I shopped and even included all harness, instructions and dash mounting kit pieces. Wonderful experience with shipping as well. I placed my order on a Monday morning @ 9 AM and received my unit Tuesday evening at 6 PM... can't beat that.

After doing a lot of research I decided to get this unit. I have been very impressed. For the money, it can't be beaten. Before I bought this, I replaced my speakers with infinitys all around. They were good with the factory headunit but now they really shine with the pioneer. For my tastes, no need for an external amp now! Above all, Crutchfield is great to deal with. Shipping is fast and their technical support is awesome(I had a quick question about the optional aux input). Overall highly recommended.

As always, Panasonic comes through with an excellent product

Written By Mr_Jabroni, Flint, Michigan on Monday, May 09, 2005

For the money, you can't do any better than this. It plays cds/mp3/wma and it supports satellite radio. What more could you possibly ask for in a product costing less than $175?

I was in search for a good cd player that played mp3 files for under $175. After doing extensive research, I settled on this unit.

The remote control is sweet, just hold it in your lap and you're good to go. The 50 watt x 4 is nice, get some power to your speakers. The unit lights up very nicely in the dark, green, blue, red, looks flashy.

The equalizer rocks! You can adjust the frequency of your lows, mids, and even your highs (you'll really hear your tweeters).

Overall, if you're on a budget, you can't go wrong with this. For the money, there simply isn't a better buy anywhere.

An excellent product for the money. The response from this unit was better than expected and the MP3 playback is outstanding. I put this unit in my Acura Integra and couldn't ask for anything more than this delivered. The installation gear I thought was cheap though and decided not to use it. I ended up reusing the pocket from the OEM stereo by adapting the factory bracket a little and installed. Fit great and looks like an OEM install. I was very pleased.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have been looking to replace the radio in my 2004 Silverado W/T for awhile. As soon as I saw this unit, I was sold. I'm very impressed. These mid-model Pioneers seem to be made for adults. Their not flashy, but have more features than most people could hope for and the sound can't be beat for the price.

Installation was a little more complex than usual because of having to buy the Metra wiring harness/speaker for the chimes. I also bought the optional Pioneer aux. harness where I can finally hear my XM Roady with no static.

Crutchfield's shipping was super fast and the instructions are excellent. I will definitely be back again.

I purchased this unit to replace the Bose unit in my Nissan Maxima. The enclosed Master Sheet was right on and the only thing that I needed assistance with was the wiring harness. Your technicians were there to solve that problem and now the stereo sounds better than the Bose unit when new! The Pioneer is not only a great deal, but also packs a clean and powerful punch for the price.

As far as Crutchfield is concerned, your product line is unsurpassed, your shipping expedient, and your service exceptional!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

First off, this is the first Pioneer product I have owned in 15 years and I am very impressed with it. The unit has many nice features and a clear and easy-to-read display. The remote is a nice added bonus that I did not expect. This unit is installed in a Jeep Cherokee with Polk EX3525's in the front doors and rear sound bar. Very clean sound with no distortion at higher volume levels.

The only complaint about the unit is the radio preset buttons are smaller than I expected but that is NOT a reason to cross this radio off your list. The sound quality, features combined with MP3/WMA ability are proof that Pioneer puts out a quality product for a fair price.

Pioneer P3700

Written By Daniel, Southern California on Friday, April 15, 2005

I started with a Fosgate 201s and Infinity 1030W Sub from Crutchfield. I ended up adding infinity 6.5 and 4 inch speakers to the doors. Something was still missing, i had engine noise and decide to try a new headunit. I was very impressed with the Pioneer player. It is powerful enough that I decided not to buy a seperate amp for the door speakers, and it removed the engine noise.

Highly recommend this unit.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The installation kit supplied by Crutchfield made all the difference. The Pioneer installation instructions were sparse in comparison. I had the original unit out of my Subaru Outback and this one installed in about an hour without any problems. The Pioneer unit has an uncluttered readable display, easy to use controls and terrific sound. I didn't realize I could get such good sound out of my old factory speakers. This is a great receiver at a very reasonable price.

I did a lot of searching around before I bought this unit. None of the so-called 'discount' stores in the area could match this price.
Very intuitive remote and function design. Sounds great, has some excellent features. Unfortunately it has the 'seek' function, but no 'scan'. (at least, I haven't figured it out if it does)
Overall, a great deal for the money!

Great Receiver for the Money

Written By Dennis, Charleston, SC on Friday, April 01, 2005

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Reviewed a lot of receivers and chose this one. I've got new speakers coming too, but this unit makes my factory speakers sound great in my 1997 Mercury Mountaineer w/ JBL system. My subwoofer amp blew a few months ago so I knew it was time to do something. I didn't want to spend a fortune, but I wanted good sound. I listen to FM probably more then anything so I focused in on the Pioneer supertuner. Excellent choice it would seem. I was leaning towards an Alpine but reading reviews about poor FM reception and problems reading certain CD formats...I didn't need the hassle. I also went with the pioneer because it is one of the few tuners I found that had a manufacturer's website where you could order spare/replacement parts.

The only negative things I can say about this is that the removable faceplate seems to want to come off a little too easily. They say this unit is a little lacking as far as features but I haven't figured out yet if that is true because. I like simple anyway.

Excellent Receiver! Awesome tuner, and audio quality. The equalizer is very nice...very customizable. The bass output is truly awesome. I'm very happy with this receiver and will not be upgrading it for a long, long time...

Crutchfield, or course, is awesome for getting me this receiver within 3 days. Also, the install kit and instructions are very helpful. I love free things...

Tip: Choose to solder the connections between the factory receiver's harness and the connector harness from Crutchfield. This will save you headache in the future. And will make better connections overall...So, in other words, don't crimp! :)

This is probably the best reciever for the price and it can be probably beat some under 200 dollar reciever. The installation instruction were kinda confusing but you need to have common sense to figure it out. The intructions were probably the worst thing for that comes with this but the reciever is more important. I love the features of this reciever. My sister is going to buy one now and my dad is jealous of me because he likes my reciever better than his.
Also if you live away from cities like me. The FM pickup is so great!
