Graphical On-screen Displays: For
ease of use, this player makes extensive use of graphical on-screen displays,
including the Disc Navigator.
PureCinema Progressive Scan: Progressive-scan
video has less flicker and fewer motion artifacts than the traditional
interlaced-scanning method, resulting in a superior picture. To take advantage
of this feature, you must have a television with component video inputs that
supports the progressive scanning mode. The component outputs on this unit can
be set to pass either progressive or interlaced video.
Video D/A Converter: This
player uses a 54MHz/10-bit video digital-to-analog converter. This high-bit,
high sampling D/A converter helps to reduce digital artifacts to give you a

This unit features a 192kHz/24-bit audio digital-to-analog converter.
Note: If a DVD recorded
with a 96kHz sampling frequency is copyright-protected, no digital signal is
output unless converted to 48kHz/16-bit. If a DVD recorded with a 96kHz
sampling frequency is not copyright-protected, a 96kHz/24-bit digital signal
MP3/WMA Playback: This unit
will play MP3/WMA files recorded onto CD-ROM, CD-R, and CD-RW discs using the
ISO 9660 level 1/level2, Romeo, or Joliet formats. This player is not compatible
with WMA loss-less-encoding, variable bit-rate MP3/WMA files, or multi-session
recordings. Each disc can have a maximum of 299 files, and up to 648 files and
JPEG Disc Playback: This unit
will play back JPEG files recorded onto CD-ROM, CD-R, and CD-RW discs using the
ISO 9660 level 1/level2, Romeo, or Joliet formats. Baseline JPEG and EXIF 2.2
still image files up to 3072 x 2048 are supported. During playback, you can use
the JPEG Disc Navigator to find a particular folder or picture by filename. You
can also locate a picture within a folder by thumbnail image. Other available
functions during JPEG disc playback include: zoom (2x, 4x), slide show playback,
and angle adjustment, which allows you to rotate the current image 90-degrees
Virtual Surround: When playing
a Dolby Digital disc, this feature allows you to obtain a surround sound effect
from only two speakers.
Enhancer: The Dialogue
Enhancer increases the center channel volume (relative to other channels),
making movie dialogue easier to hear and understand.
The following EQ presets are stored into memory,
allowing you to recall the best setting for
different types of music: Rock, Pop, Live, Dance, Techno, Classic, Soft, or Off.
Zoom: The zoom feature can be
used to enlarge any part of the picture by 2x or 4x.
Resume Play and Last Memory:
When you stop playback of a disc, "Resume" is shown in the display
indicating that you can resume playback from that point. For DVDs and Video CDs,
if you take the disc out of the player, the position is stored in memory (Last
Memory). The resume point is cleared when the disc is removed from the player.
For DVDs and Video CDs, the resume/last memory point is cleared when the Stop
button is pressed more than once.
Video Adjust Memory Presets:
You can adjust the following picture quality settings: sharpness, brightness,
contrast, gamma, hue, and chroma level.
