Upgrade your in-car listening experience with a Pioneer GM Series amp — it'll provide the power and sound quality you're looking for, all in a reliable package you can count on.

The GM-6400F 4-channel amplifier produces plenty of juice, with 60 watts RMS per channel to drive your front and rear speakers. Or you can switch this versatile amp over to 2-channel mode and drive two subs with 150 watts each. You'll find selectable high- and low-pass filters on the front and rear channels that adapt the amp to the job at hand. High- and low-level inputs allow you to add the GM-6400F to almost any system, even a factory stereo, while its preamp outputs simplify adding additional amps.

My system has plenty of power. Who needs an amp?

You might think you don't need an amp because you have a 400-watt system in your car, or because your new stereo puts out 50 watts a channel. But those are peak wattage ratings, which may boil down to 15 or 20 watts per channel, using the more realistic RMS rating. An amp sends your speakers the power they need to deliver your music with clarity and impact, whether you're using factory speakers or high-performance components. And low-frequency reproduction requires lots of power, so an amp is an absolute must if you're adding a sub to your system.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Installed this amp today in my Honda Accord. I have it hooked up to a Pioneer DEH-6000UP head unit, a set of pioneer 2 way 30W speakers in the front, and two pioneer 6 x 9 40W in the back. Bangs hard. Plenty of power to run the speakers and then some. I'm hearing things in the music I've never heard before and I've never had my speakers sound this good.

Got good tech support from Crutchfield and the rep gave me everything I needed to install it properly in my vehicle. Wiring was a pain but in the end it worked perfectly on the first shot, no troubleshooting. Another 10/10 guys.

worth the money

For the money, it's a very clean amp with good power. Only 1 complain, not enough adjustments. It's a good looking piece.

half way and if i leave my car windows open i hear it in the second floor of my
house. Best bang for the buck with sound level and performance quality.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I got the GM6400F hooked up to 2 pairs of 6 1/2 in Pioneer TSD1602R door
speakers in my 2010 HHR and it is very loud but amazingly clear to be running
the factory head unit. A great combo for any car.

Good amp

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This amp was easy to install even with the not very detailed instructions included from Crutchfield.
The amp is powering 4 Polk Audio 5x7's easily, with the gain not even turned to 50%. With the low profile design, it mounts nicely behind the backseat of an 08 superduty without getting hot. It is a good amp for the price and i would recommend it to anyone, no matter how serious you are with your music.

Great briged

CEA 2006 Compliant: The Pioneer GM-6400F Two-Channel Power Amplifier power ratings are measured according to the strict standards dictated by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). These standards allow you to accurately compare the rated power output of all CEA 2006-compliant amplifiers, even if they come from different brands. Manufacturers who adhere to the standards can display the CEA 2006 logo on their products and packaging. CEA2006 Specifications:

  • Four-Channel: 60 watts x 4 at 4-ohms with 1% THD+N
  • Bridged: 150 Watts x 2 at 4-ohms with 1% THD+N

H-Shaped Chassis: The H-shaped bottom chassis utilizes Pioneer's expertise and exclusive technologies to eliminate resonant vibrations. The H-shaped bottom chassis ensures that your music is reproduced as intended, loud and clear.

Superior Ground Parts: High levels of electric current can easily create noise within an amplifier; especially ground noise. To avoid this, Pioneer made careful consideration when designing and selecting components for use within this amplifier. Only the best, most efficient parts were selected after repeated testing to provide a superior noise-free listening experience.

Efficient Sub-Heatsink: When designing the amplifier chassis Pioneer utilized a main heatsink and a sub-heatsink to dissipate heat. These efficient heatsink structures ensure that the amplifier stay their optimal temperature and keep cool.

Input Select Switch: The amplifier's input select switch allows you to choose between a 4-channel or 2-channel mode. The 4-channel mode requires run two pair of RCA cords to the amplifier's front and rear RCA inputs, while the 2-channel mode only requires you to run on pair of RCA cords to the amplifiers front RCA inputs.

Gain Control: To accommodate the varying range of signal levels coming from today's factory and aftermarket radios, the  Pioneer GM-6400F features adjustable gain controls (0.2-6.5V) for the front and rear channels of the amplifier. This means that no matter what kind of radio is connected to this amplifier, the appropriate gain control adjustment can be made to ensure loud, clear, distortion-free music. And even if the gain control level is set improperly, Pioneer's Gain Control Caution feature will automatically reduce the amplifier's output until the headunit volume is decreased to acceptable levels. This added layer of protection helps to prevent damage from occurring to the amplifier and the speakers connected to it due to improper gain control adjustments.

High-Pass and Low-Pass Crossovers: Built into the GM-6400F is an independent high-pass and low-pass crossover network for the front and rear channels of the amplifier. The fixed low-pass crossover routes the big bass signals (80Hz or lower, at -12dB/octave) to the speaker that handles them best, and filters out higher-frequency signals to that speaker. The fixed high-pass crossover routes the midrange and high frequencies (80Hz and above, at -12dB/octave) to the speakers that cannot handle the lower frequencies. This optimizes your system's efficiency and delivers the best possible sound quality.

Power Connections: The power and ground connections are 0.5625" wide screw terminals that will accommodate up to 4-gauge wire. The remote turn-on terminal is 0.375" wide and will accept up to 8-gauge wire. A Phillips-head or flat blade screw driver (not supplied) is required to tighten/loosen the terminals. Spade connectors are recommended for the power, ground, and remote wires.

Speaker Connections:The speaker terminals are also 0.375" wide and will accommodate up to 8-gauge wire. A Phillips-head or flat blade screw driver (not supplied) is required to tighten/loosen the terminals. Spade connectors are recommended for the speaker wires.

RCA Input: The amplifier features two pair of gold-plated stereo RCA outputs (Front/Rear).

RCA Output: The one pair of preamp output jacks provide a convenient source for daisy-chaining an additional amplifier without running an extra set of RCA cables from the front of the vehicle to the amplifier location. These outputs provide a full-range signal.

Speaker Input: The GM-6400F's speaker level inputs and harness allow you to connect your OEM unit (or any unit that does not have the typical RCA-type inputs) without having to buy add-on adapters.

Fuses: The GM-6400F features two 25-amp ATC blade fuses.
