Features

CEA-2006 Compliant: CEA-2006 is a system of testing and measurement methods for mobile audio amplifiers. This voluntary standard advocates a uniform method for measuring an amplifier's RMS power output and signal-to-noise ratio. The criteria for measuring power uses a DC input voltage of 14.4 volts and the RMS power output is measured into a 4Ω load, with 1% or less Total Harmonic Distortion plus noise (THD+N), and over a frequency range of 20 Hz to 20 kHz (for full range amplifiers). Signal-to-Noise ratio is measured in weighted absolute decibels (dBA) at a reference of 1 watt into 4Ω. CEA-2006 standards allow consumers to compare amplifiers on an equal basis. Using CEA-2006 criteria, the Pioneer GM-A3602 is rated at 60 watts RMS x 2 channels, with a 78 dBA signal to noise ratio.

Specifications: The manual also lists these non CEA-2006 compliant specifications:

  • Power:
    • 2Ω: 90 watts x 2 channels (14.4 volts, 1 kHz, no more than 1% THD+N)
    • Bridged: 180 watts x 1 channel (into 4Ω, 14.4 volts, no more than 1% THD+N)
  • Signal to Noise Ratio: 95 dB (at rated power)

Gain Control: To accommodate the varying range of signal levels coming from today's factory and aftermarket radios, the input gain is adjustable (300mV-6.5V line level, 3V-26V speaker level).

Gain Control Caution: If the gain control level is set too high, Pioneer's Gain Control Caution feature will automatically reduce the amplifier's output until the headunit volume is decreased to acceptable levels. This added layer of protection helps prevent damage to the amplifier and the connected speakers due to improper gain control adjustments.

LPF: A two position switch turns the low pass filter (LPF) on/off, the crossover point is fixed at 80 Hz and the slope is 12dB/octave.

Power Connections: The power and ground connections are 0.54" wide screw terminals, the remote turn-on screw terminal is 0.325" wide. A Phillips-head or flat blade screw driver (not included) is required to tighten/loosen the terminals. Spade connectors are recommended for the power, ground, and remote wires.

Speaker Connections: The speaker screw terminals are 0.325" wide. A Phillips-head or flat blade screw driver (not included) is required to tighten/loosen the terminals. Spade connectors are recommended for the speaker wires.

RCA Input: The amplifier features one pair of stereo RCA line level inputs (left/right).

Speaker Input: The included speaker level input harness allows you to connect your OEM radio (or aftermarket radio that does not have the typical RCA-type outputs) without having to buy an adapter.

Auto Power On: When using the speaker level input, a circuit senses the input signal and turns the amp on automatically. This feature makes it easier to add an amplifier to a factory radio or to a receiver with no preamp outputs.

Fuse: The amp is protected by a single 25-amp ATO blade fuse.

Can I bridge this amp to power my Kicker 40CS6934 6x9's? 150 watts RMS

A
Unfortunately this amp is not rated 2-ohm mono operation (as you are describing). Have a quick call or chat with an Advisor. They will be able to help find an amp that will power your speakers and fit your budget.

Q
I'm using this amp unbridged to power two rear speakers, (sounds awesome). Can I add a sub simply by running wires from the "bridge" terminals? The amp would then be running the two rear coaxles and the sub. I know I'd reduce overall power to each speaker, but is that possible?

A
I wouldn't do that..you run the risk of destroying the amp.
shane m.  Sep 28, 2015
A
I Don't think it will work, because the amp must be set to low pas filter to push the sub. And the amp must be set to high pas filter to power the rear speakers. Hope this helps....

YES, IT IS A 2 CHANNEL AMP HOWEVER, SO YOUR WATTAGE WILL CHANNEL AS YOUR OHMS DO.
patrick  Jul 21, 2015

This is a two channel amp (left and right) or you can bridge it together for one speaker (positive on side / negative on other). You could use this for front and back but will lose. My Pioneer deck runs the front speakers and the amp the back in the doors. I hope this helps.

Q
If I use the speaker level inputs do I need to use a remote wire for the amp or will the amp automatically turn on with the speaker level inputs?
michael  Mar 12, 2015

A
You need a remote wire from your head unit. The head unit will tell the amp what to do
dale  Mar 14, 2015
A
I believe you still have to use the remote wire.
sam  Mar 13, 2015
A
Run the power, ground and remote as you would with rca cables. Remember the remote wire is what switches the amp on and off. Then tap in to the rear speakers to plug in the high input. I hope this helps

Q
hello everyone, is it necessairy to use to remote power on cable. Doesn't it start when you use the high level inputs? thank you
bart de munck  Feb 16, 2015

A
what's up player? If you have one amp then the high input harness is sufficient you don't need the remote wire. if you have two(2) amps then one amp will need the remote wire and the other amp can use the high input harness. then you connect RCA plugs from one amp to the next to transfer sound.
clyde  Feb 19, 2015
A
Yes if the deck allows it.

Q
What does AB stand for? And how can it help me with my shopping for an amp
derek c  Nov 02, 2014
1 answer
A
Class AB is a combination of both Class A and Class B amplifiers. In a Class AB amplifier the output transistors power-down a little when not in use, resulting in good sound fidelity and adequate efficiency (often 50%). Most full-range amplifiers use Class AB technology. You can find out more about amplifier types in our Amplifier FAQ here: http://www.crutchfield.com/learn/learningcenter/car/amplifiers_faq.html?showAll=N#16

I have a pair of JBL GTO638 speakers rated at 60W at 2Ohms each. Can I use this amp? It's stated at 90W at 2 Ohms.

Yes Plenty of power in a small package. Very happy with this amp!
david a  May 29, 2014

I do not see why not because you can turn down the amp. I am running the amp 6x9 Rockform Fosgate that are rated at 150 watts (peak), 2 ohms. I am not using near the power that the amp could put out. I drive a Ram 1500, sounds good enough to wear I need to add some dynamat to the rear doors. I hope this helps.
christopher  May 29, 2014
A
You should be able to use this amp, however, I would want an amp that has a equal or a little greater wattage then my speakers. 2 Speakers @ 60W=120Watts and this amp is at 90 Watts. I would recommend an amp that is equal or greater than 120 Watts.
