My system has plenty of power. Who needs an amp?
You might think you don't need an amp because you have a 400-watt system in your car, or because your new stereo puts out 50 watts a channel. But those are peak wattage ratings, which may boil down to 15 or 20 watts per channel, using the more realistic RMS rating. An amp sends your speakers the power they need to deliver your music with clarity and impact, whether you're using factory speakers or high-performance components. And low-frequency reproduction requires lots of power, so an amp is an absolute must if you're adding a sub to your system.

Had previously purchased a larger amp. After finding out that the amp was much to big (dimension wise) for my vehicle (Honda S2000). I did some research on the Pioneer GM-D9500F and liked what I saw and read about the amp. Sent back the larger amp and bought the Pioneer. Wow! What a little powerhouse! I have it powering my front Infinity Kappas and my 12" Pioneer sub. Provides plenty of power, just warm to the touch, and I love the small form factor. This is a awesome little amp and i would recommend this little jewel to any who wants to save space without sacrificing power.

Bought this to go with my pioneer head unit and speakers. This amp works well but has a hum to it. I am not a novice to auto audio installing, troubleshooted everything from A to Z, and turns out that the amp itself is the cause of the hum. Adjust the gain and no matter where I set it the hum remained. Disappointing since the head unit and speakers I have from the premier line are really awesome. Will be sending this one back.

sound, small size fits under the passenger front seat. Hardly any heat and does this
thing rock!! Tremendous sound in my Z28 even with the T-Tops off. I can't imagine much
better for the price.

CEA 2006 Compliant: The Pioneer GM-D9500F 4-Channel Power Amplifier power ratings are measured according to the strict standards dictated by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). These standards allow you to accurately compare the rated power output of all CEA 2006-compliant amplifiers, even if they come from different brands. Manufacturers who adhere to the standards can display the CEA 2006 logo on their products and packaging. CEA2006 Specifications:
- Four-Channel: 75 watts x 4 at 4-ohms with 1% THD+N (100 watts x 4 at 2-ohms with 1% THD+N)
- Bridged: 200 Watts x 2 at 4-ohms with 1% THD+N
Class-D Amp: The superior efficiency of a Class-D amplifier means higher power output and greater compactness than an analog amplifier offers. Class-D amplifiers overcome the inefficiencies of traditional Class-A or AB amplifiers. Pioneer's Class-D amps transform very little power into heat so a higher percentage of the power supply (67%) is transformed into the load. This results in a very compact amp which needs less input power to produce very high output power.
Pulse Width Modulator (PWM): The Class-D amplifier's PWM (Pulse Width Modulator) modulates the original audio input signal with a triangulated signal wave which has a much higher fixed frequency. The result is a digital signal which contains both the input signal and a band of frequency components around the modulation frequency. LPFs (Low Pass Filters) or HPFs (High Pass Filters) then filter out designated high and low frequency pulses, and the resulting amplified output signal is then sent to the connected subwoofers and/or speakers.
Input Select Switch: The amplifier's input select switch allows you to choose between a 4-channel or 2-channel mode. The 4-channel mode requires run two pair of RCA cords to the amplifier's front and rear RCA inputs, while the 2-channel mode only requires you to run on pair of RCA cords to the amplifiers front RCA inputs.
Gain Control: To accommodate the varying range of signal levels coming from today's factory and aftermarket radios, the Pioneer GM-D9500F features adjustable gain controls (0.2-6.5V) for the front and rear channels of the amplifier. This means that no matter what kind of radio is connected to this amplifier, the appropriate gain control adjustment can be made to ensure loud, clear, distortion-free music. And even if the gain control level is set improperly, Pioneer's Gain Control Caution feature will automatically reduce the amplifier's output until the headunit volume is decreased to acceptable levels. This added layer of protection helps to prevent damage from occurring to the amplifier and the speakers connected to it due to improper gain control adjustments.
High-Pass and Low-Pass Crossovers: Built into the GM-D9500F is an independent high-pass and low-pass crossover network for the front and rear channels of the amplifier. The variable low-pass crossover routes the big bass signals (40-500Hz and lower, at -12dB/octave) to the speaker that handles them best, and filters out higher-frequency signals to that speaker. The fixed high-pass crossover routes the midrange and high frequencies (40-500Hz and above, at -12dB/octave) to the speakers that cannot handle the lower frequencies. This optimizes your system's efficiency and delivers the best possible sound quality.
Power Connections: The power and ground connections will accommodate up to 4-gauge wire. The remote turn-on terminal will accept up to 8-gauge wire. A phillips-head or straight-head screwdriver can be used to tighten and loosen the terminals.
Speaker Level Input: Two speaker level to RCA adapters are included; splice your radio's speaker output to these adapters, then plug it into the RCA inputs on the amp. The input switch on the amp should be set to SP (speaker level) or RCA (line level) to match the radio output level.
Speaker Connections: The speaker output terminals will accommodate up to 8-gauge wire. A phillips-head or straight-head screwdriver can be used to tighten and loosen the terminals.
RCA Input: The amplifier features two pair of gold-plated stereo RCA outputs (Front/Rear).
RCA Output: The one pair of preamp output jacks provide a convenient source for daisy-chaining an additional amplifier without running an extra set of RCA cables from the front of the vehicle to the amplifier location. These outputs provide a full-range signal.
