Item #: 130IV202AV
The CD-IV202AV cable kit lets you connect your iPhone 5 to select Pioneer DVD and GPS receivers. This kit includes VGA and USB connector cables connected to an interface module for audio and video transfer between the receiver and your iPhone 5. To complete your hookup, you'll also need the Apple® Lightning to USB cable, plus the Apple Lightning to VGA adapter.
With this cable kit and the other necessary adapters in place, you'll be able to access and control select iPhone 5 apps through the Pioneer receiver's AppRadio Mode, as well as play and control the music and videos you've stored on your iPhone 5 from the receiver's touchscreen.
Note: A firmware update from Pioneer may be required for your receiver (available at no charge — see Pioneer's website for details).
An iPod adapter allows you to connect your iPod to your car stereo, then access your playlists with your stereo's controls - a great idea for several reasons. One, you can scroll through your song titles on your stereo's larger display, instead of squinting down at your iPod. Two, you can route the adapter cable to your glove compartment or center console, so your iPod stays safely out of sight. Three, the iPod adapter keeps your iPod fully charged, so it's ready to rock when you leave your car. And last of all, some adapters bypass your iPod's internal digital-to-analog converter, using your stereo's superior DAC to turn your files back into music.
Pros: The device can produce your iPhones screen into the radios touch screen. The product works as described. The item was purchased as scratched & dent, but the item was in perfect new conditions
Cons: This does not affect the performance, but the device can be a little bulky for tight dashes in case you want to hide the wiring or harness. I purchased a male to female lightning cable and hid the Pioneer harness behind the dash and ran the cable through the dash.
BETTER THAN DESCRIBED, ITEM CAME IN OPEN ORIGINAL BOX, BUT WITH ALL ACCESSORIES AND NO MARKS OR SCUFFS. ITEM WORKS FINE, I JUST NEED THE LIGHTNING VGA ADAPTER TO COMPLETE THE SETUP
Pros: BETTER THAN DESCRIBED
This cable worked good with the Pioneer AVH-P8400BH. receiver. I would recommended it.
Pros: Easy connection with the receiver.
Cons: Have to buy expensive Apple VGA cable in order for it work.
Was excited to see this on sale. I knew additional peripherals would be required but what I didn't expect was the cost of the adapter. Regardless I continued with the install. Read the fine print of the firmware update! If you had the AppRadio cord for the iPhone 4 prepare to be disappointed. Audio is forced to use Bluetooth even when plugged in, touchscreen functionality is lost in the primary interface and forced through app radio, and to top it off the performance of the AppRadio apps is horrible. Latency and limited options make it frustrating. Wish I still had the 4 plugged in. Be cautious.
I needed a cable yesterday and they were going for 4 times the price that I paid at Crutchfield . It was like a Bugs Bunny cartoon... I ordered it and the doorbell rang and it was here. My problem is I forget about Crutchfield and pay too much and then kick myself later. I need to make them my homepage.
Pros: Fast, inexpensive, reliable, sexy
Cons: They don't use mental telepathy and enlighten me when I need an electronic product and then I pay too much from some guy that doesn't feel like shiping it until the next time he needs to leave the house for the newest playstation release.
Product is as advertised open box but complete. Unit worked but to tell the truth hadn't completed the install. I upgraded firmware on Pioneer AVH-4500BT
Pros: Like new as advertised . Haven't gotten very far with the product but Crutchfield ships fast and package arrived intact . Best price on the Internet
Stereo software not updated to make this part a functional tool. Why Pioneer requires this to use with it's App Radio service is a scam on every consumer who purchased any one of their AVH-X2500 auto stereo's.
It's a piece of junk!! WHEN INSTALLED IT READS US. NOT COMPATIBLE!! What a waste of time and money.
Pros: Nothing worked as advertised
Cons: Everything!! Save your moneyCrutchfield response on June 10, 2015 When we saw this review, our Tech Support team reached out to see if they can help. They'll help the customer either get it working, or return it for a refund.
Works great. Was priced fair and came quickly.
This cable works fairly well and it not a good price since I have to order a lighting to change adapter I think it's kind of sad that pioneer doesn't have a complete clean on cable adapter for this and has just moved on to another model of radio.
Pros: That adapter is easy to stall and he directions from pioneer are ver staigjt forward. Crutchfield got my part to me faster than expected.
Cons: You still need a lighting cable and a VGA to lighting adapter to get maximum performance out of the pioneer 4500BT
It worked great for what it was designed for just didn't do what I wanted it to
Pros: Great price !
Cons: Tried to mirror my iPhone 6 on a avic 5000nex and it's not capable to do so
This was the best price I found for this!! It came so quickly and was exactly what I expected! A great deal!
Pros: Arrived quickly, came with instructions, best price,
Lots of bulky cords to deal with. Necessary, but bulky.
Pros: It does the job with a lot of cords.
Kinda of bulky but there was enough room for it. It works. No problems yet.
This product does exactly what it is intended for. I wish it wasn't so bulky but with VGA connections you have no choice.
Pros: Mirrors iphone to screen. Good picture.
This item works as described, but could be better designed. With all the cords that are part of installing this, there was a large amount of wiring I needed to coil up behind my glove box to get everything to fit. It comes with some wire loom, which helps organize everything, which is nice.
If you install one of these and get an "Incompatible USB" message when you attach your iPhone, change the setting on your receiver to "iPhone (VGA)". When I installed, it defaulted to the settings for a different cable, and I thought there was a problem with the adapter. Once I changed the setting, it worked perfectly.
Pros: Plug and Play Comes with wire loom for clean install
Cons: Lots of excess cable
Does the job but would be nice to see pioneer come out with a more simple cord not needing the adapter for the lightning cable
Pros: Easy to install
Cons: Much more than needed
Pros: Easy Install
Very easy pioneer attachment. Priced very reasonably. Easy plug and play design.
Works as stated
Pros: It works
Cons: A little bulky for tight installs.
Awesome product, does the job.
Pros: Enables video on pioneer head unit!
Cons: No cons
The cable and all that goes with it works once you set the head unit to the proper setting. One thing I do like is now my iPhone is mirrored on the head unit. I can use all my apps now. I would recommend you buy the package deal. One you know you are getting apple cert. cable and converter. I tried a cable I bought off of another retailer and it wouldn't work. Told be the cable was not a certified apple cable and would not play video. Over all it works just fine. And if you want to use your head unit to its fullest and have a iPhone 5 or newer you need this.
Pros: I now can use my head unit as intended.
Cons: I can no longer play my iPhone like it used to be. I have to physically do it from the iPhone unless Im using the appradio. It just simply not an option in normal menu settings. The cable is stupid long and having to hook up all the converters is a bit of a pain. Wish the instructions would of told be to switch the head unit to VGA.
It works like it should, but the video is not as good as it should be. I'm just happy I can use my iPhone 5 on my Pioneer and watch video.
Pros: It works
Cons: Video quality could be better
dont waste the money or time.
Pros: great idea
Cons: does not work
Works exactly as advertised. Thanks Crutchfield!
Does what it should.
Pros: Works well with my setup
Cons: Looks like poop but I got female to male lightning extension cable to go with it so its all behind the dash out of sight.
It works well, They could have made the box a but smaller cause its not easy to fit in some dashes.
Pros: Finally working apps and usage of the Iphone 5.
Cons: If you switch out of app mode for any reason you have to it allow on the phone. Its a bit redundant. Say your using waze and a call comes in you will have to re allow the connection on the phone after the call.
Pros: Easy to install
Interconnect needed for head unit and Iphone 5
iPhone 5? Check. CD-IV202AV? Check. extra apple adapters? Check. iphone 5 working with App Radio? Negative. Essentailly extra $$$ in material to get this thing to work and it still doesn't work. I should have gotten a Kenwood.
Pros: Easy to install i guess?
Cons: 9 miles of cable and the apple device has a 2 inch spout at the end of it. OH! And it dosen't currently work.
The pioneer firmware upgrade is not available yet.
Cons: Expensive, dose not work without a firmware update which has not been released for the AVH-x5500.
Waste of money so far...
Pros: Easy to Install.
Cons: No firmware update in sight. Need to purchase extra cables and connectors.
The cable itself is straight forward as far as installation. However, though this cable is for iPhone 5 compatibility with the Pioneer AVH-X3500BHS, the "firmware" required for the radio is yet unavailable. I have the cable, the Apple Lightning to VGA adapter, and phone ready to go but cannot use the features, on screen navigation via the iPhone 5, because the firmware is not available.
Pros: Easy to install.
Cons: No Pioneer AVH-X3500BHS radio firmware for iPhone 5 compatibility. Useless without firmware update.
No Firmware available, have an AVH-X5500BHS the CD-IV202AV and the Apple Lightning to VGA adaptor They put all the hype of iPhone 5 compatibility but sell all the add-ons with no use for them at this time.
Pros: Looks Cool
Cons: Useless with no Firmware !
Needs update. When the lightning to USB is connected to the VGA to lightning, I don't get a charge when both are plugged in. My AVH-x5500BHS reads "incompatible USB" and the AppRadio app is not selectable, but when the lightning to USB is connected without the VGA the AppRadio app is selectable(can't see anything cause I need the VGA to work) on the radio.
Pros: CD-IV202AV is finally made available.
Cons: Need firmware update to work.
As the other reviews stated, waited 6 months for the cable now well see how long it's going to take to get the firmware update. I just don't see how pioneer can only release 1/2 of the solution. Either they and Pioneer have sold out or these have been pulled since even the pioneer site no longer has them available.
Cons: Even bulkier than the previous cable, requires another $60 worth of adapters and there's no firmware for this as of now.
Well, just got my AVH-X7500BT yesterday and got around to installing it today. Got this cable along with the Apple cables and guess what? It doesn't work. Firmware to make it work is not out yet. The good part is that I'm traveling out of the country for 2-3 weeks so hopefully the firmware will be released by the time I get back. Also, if you bypass the VGA adapter and plug the Lightning to USB directly to the iPhone/Pad/Pod, you still get iPod controls for audio only. Also, the cables are really bulky and they're really long. I'm not sure what applications these might have, but for me it's kind of a pain since everything is getting bunched up in the center control area. Once the firmware comes out, I'll have to review it again to see if the product is worth the money.
Pros: Gives you video out/mirroring from the iPhone and control from the head unit (so Pioneer's website tells me)
Cons: NO FIRMWARE UPDATE to make it fully functional Long bulky cables Expensive for VGA (non-HDMI)
The firmware update has not arrived yet, but even so, this kit requires the use of Apple's Lightning to VGA adapter, which is a dongle that attaches to both the head unit's VGA cable and firewire cable, while providing less than four inches of cable to connect to the iPhone. The result is a big tangle of cables that has to come out every time you connect your phone to the head unit. Until Apple releases a lighting cable extension cord, allowing you to hide the adapter, this is going to be an eyesore, no matter how well it works.
Pros: Finally, AppRadio mode on Pioneer's DVD units.
Cons: Apple lightning to VGA adapter makes for a messy install.
What a waste of money! What kind of manufacturer releases hardware but doesn't have the needed software update ready when the product releases? Pioneer tech support was also completely useless and doesn't even have a definite date for the software update required for a product? Spring 2013 is too broad for a software release date
Pros: Crutchfield customer service and shipping
Cons: Pioneer support, software update not available when product released
I bought this cable to connect my AVH-X5500BHS to my iPhone 5, however in order for the head unit/cable to work with iPhone 5's it needs a firmware upgrade. No problem? Well, if the firmware upgrade was available it wouldn't be a problem, but that's not the case. The firmware hasn't been released yet so until then the cable is completely useless.
