Enjoy iPhone® 5 compatibility with your Pioneer receiver

The Pioneer CD-IV202NAVI cable kit provides a link between your iPhone 5 and a compatible Pioneer receiver with a VGA input, so you can take advantage of AppRadio Mode and video from your iPhone 5 on the receiver's screen (when parked). This kit includes a 1.5-meter VGA cable for audio and video transfer between the receiver and your iPhone 5, plus a 1.5-meter cable (17-pin to USB ) that charges your device when it's connected. A power supply cable is also included. To complete your hookup, you'll also need the Apple® Lightning™ to USB Cable, plus the Apple Lightning to VGA Adapter.

The VGA cable's switchbox offers two video settings, which can be changed to work with different Pioneer receivers. With this cable kit and the other necessary adapters in place, you'll be able to access and control select iPhone 5 apps through the Pioneer receiver's AppRadio Mode, and also play and control from the receiver's touchscreen all the the music and videos you've stored on your iPhone 5.

Note: A firmware update from Pioneer may be required for your receiver (available at no charge — see Pioneer's website for details).

Why would I need an iPod® adapter?

An iPod adapter allows you to connect your iPod to your car stereo, then access your playlists with your stereo's controls - a great idea for several reasons. One, you can scroll through your song titles on your stereo's larger display, instead of squinting down at your iPod. Two, you can route the adapter cable to your glove compartment or center console, so your iPod stays safely out of sight. Three, the iPod adapter keeps your iPod fully charged, so it's ready to rock when you leave your car. And last of all, some adapters bypass your iPod's internal digital-to-analog converter, using your stereo's superior DAC to turn your files back into music.

  • AVIC-Z140BH

Operation: When used with a compatible Pioneer in-dash navigation receiver and appropriate Apple Lightning adapters (sold separately), the CD-IV202NAVI cable kit enables iPhone 5/5C/5S users to access and control select iPhone 5/5C/5S apps via AppRadio Mode (formerly known as Advanced App Mode) as well as play and control music and videos stored on the iPhone 5/5C/5S from the receiver's touchscreen display.

Waste of Money

Written By El Dorado, Rockford, IL on Friday, June 13, 2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Product is a waste of money. You'll also need to buy the AV adapter from apple which is another $50 and hope that it works because on mine it didn't. Just don't buy anything Pioneer too much hassle. Even Crutchfield couldn't help me determine the problem I was having.

Pros: It charges your phones battery if it's low.

Cons: Too many wires

Be nice if Pioneer released the firmware update before the cable

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I'm going to give two reviews - Crutchfield and Pioneer. First Crutchfield - 5 Stars - Ordered on Friday received on Monday! Can't say anything else! Pioneer - For the Item - 4 Stars - Easy to install and the directions were fine, you just have to uninstall your radio (I have a 940BT), connect everything and reinstall. No problem for me. --- For support --- 1 Star - Well my iPhone 5 did not show on my 940BT screen (so I'm still using BT to connect) so i called Pioneer tech support to confirm the firmware update. Yup, need it but wouldn't it make sense to release it before or at the same time you release the cable??? You would think!! I will post another review of the product when I apply the firmware update!

Pros: Love my system and hopefully with this kit the synergy between my 940BT and my iPhone 5 will be great!! Crutchfield and their fast shipping!! Which BTW is where I purchased my 940BT and all accessories to connect it to my G35!!

Cons: Release the firmware update when you release the cable!!
