Pioneer's tiny ND-BC5 rear-view camera measures about an inch in all dimensions, so you can mount it unobtrusively on the back of your car. The view, however, is expansive, as the camera supplies a 135-degree horizontal view to the rear of your vehicle. Hook it up to any receiver with a composite video rear-view camera input, and you've added an extra measure of safety to your car, truck, or RV.

This rear-view camera adheres to your license plate or any other convenient spot, then connects to your in-dash monitor with its included 23' cable. This mighty mite of a camera renders a detailed 310,000 pixel resolution color image, and boasts Lux Automatic Luminance Control for a clear picture in bright or dim conditions. Warranty: 1 year.

great picture, but when running wire one of the little wires pulled lose and then it was very hard to reinstall due to wire being to small

Pros: good pic

Cons: poor two sided tape, both parts with tape feel off in less than one hour and wires were so small they pulled out when pulled through dash to get inside of vehicle

Great camera easy install

Great camera easy install but a bit lacking on instructions.

Pros: Small with a good lens for both day and night

Cons: Not a very versital mount had to modify the mount screws when I reversed the mount to fit my aplication.mounting upside down did not give the camera body enough clearance for ven the smallest headed screw mount.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I really like this camera. Not sure if the in-dash GPS would provide the line guidance or the camera needs to have something built in, but it would've been a nice feature to see how your vehicle is tracking in reverse. It's also hard to tell the distance you really are away from an object. Something like an audible alert would've been nice too.

If it gave audible alerts or line guidance, it would've gotten 5 stars.

I have this hooked up to a Pioneer AVIC-Z140BH in-dash navigation unit.

Pros: Video Quality. Easy installation.

Cons: Expensive. The long video cable should have a disconnect by the actual camera to make installing it in the other direction easier.

Very nice camera!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have this camera paired with Pioneer AVIC 930BT. Works well even in low light. Would like to see them add parking guidance lines similar to factory back up cameras.

Pros: Small, great visualization

Cons: None

Works well!

the camera is paired with the pioneer avh 3300bt, and works flawlessly. Good night vision as well as daytime. I would definitely recommend this camera to others! This camera would be perfect if it gave the driver the range to object behind you. Other than that, its great.

Pros: Good vision day and night

Cons: pricey, no range to target icons

Compatibility: The Pioneer Universal Rear-View Camera (ND-BC5) is designed for use with Pioneer and other manufacturer in-dash AV/Navigation head units that feature an integrated monitor and rear view camera input (composite video).

Chassis: The camera is built into a compact waterproof aluminum case, making it perfect for mounting outside the vehicle.

CMOS Sensor: The Pioneer Universal Rear-View Camera (ND-BC5) utilizes a 1/4" color CMOS image sensor that has approximately 310,000 pixels to deliver a high quality picture. A CMOS (complementary metal oxide semiconductor) sensor offers improved resolution and eliminates the vertical light "smear" phenomenon that occurs when a camera using a CCD sensor is exposed to a very bright light source or direct sunlight.

Wide Angle Lens: The 135° horizontal and 105° vertical viewing angles provide an excellent near field view of anything behind you.

Automatic Sensitivity Compensation: The camera automatically adjusts to the available light, from 0.9 lux to 100,000 lux. The 0.9 lux rating ensures you'll have visibility at night in low light, while the 100,000 lux rating means the picture won't be washed out in bright sunlight.

Power Supply: The hideaway power supply unit features two Molex plugs. The 3-pin molex plug connects to the camera's attached harness and supplies power and receives signal. The 4-pin molex plug connects to the Power/Ground/Video harness. Its RCA output feeds signal to your monitor while the other two lead provide power and ground. The power lead has an in-line 1 amp fuse.

Mounting: The rear view camera comes supplied with a pre-installed self-adhesive bracket which can tilt the camera up and down.
