Pioneer

Our take on the Pioneer DEH-P9400BH

Sharp styling, with features to match
The elegant design of Pioneer's DEH-P9400BH CD receiver gives you quick and easy access to a wealth of features. You'll find Bluetooth® for hands-free calling and audio streaming, an HD Radio™ tuner for the best in radio sound, and dual USB inputs for your music, too. Add compatibility with Pandora® Internet radio through your iPhone® and a variable-color display that you can tailor to match your lighting, and you've got one impressive package.

Pioneer DEH-P9400BH

Bluetooth for safety and convenience
Once you pair up your phone, the receiver will mute the music when a call comes in, displaying the incoming number or contact name. Just press a button and talk — no fumbling for your phone. The receiver stores your phone book if you like, so outgoing calls are easy too. Plus, you can stream the music on your phone to this receiver, with no wires to get tangled up.

HD Radio for unparalleled radio sound
HD Radio's sonic advantages are impressive — FM broadcasts that are near-CD quality, with AM that's as good as what you're used to on FM. And if your local HD Radio station employs multicasting, this Pioneer allows you to tune into multiple channels on the same frequency, so you'll have more entertainment choices. Plus, the iTunes® tagging feature lets you save song info when your iPod's connected, so you can purchase the tracks you like later.

Pandora® Internet radio
If you've got an iPhone, you know the options available for streaming music. The DEH-P9400BH features Pioneer's App Mode, which offers limited control of many popular streaming music services. With your iPhone® connected, you'll have excellent control Pandora® Internet radio stations, including station selection and "thumbs up" and "thumbs down" ratings from the face of the receiver.

Play your music and streaming sources
The DEH-P9400BH sports two USB inputs on cords connected to the rear panel, so you won't have to put up with cables draped down the front of your dash. And you'll have real versatility too — plug your iPod into one and use the other for a USB storage device. There's almost no limit to the amount of music you can have on tap. And this Pioneer's 1-amp USB port will charge your devices fast, so you'll be ready to go when you get out of the car.

Pioneer for great sound
The DEH-P9400BH's built-in amp delivers plenty of power for strong sound. You'll also find an impressive collection of soundshaping controls, including a 5-band equalizer that lets you adjust the sound to your car's interior. Pioneer's Advanced Sound Retriever reverses the compression process to give you more high-frequency sparkle and musical detail from your digital audio files. And when you connect digital music sources like your iPod® to one of the USB inputs, you'll bypass the player's internal digital-to-analog converter and use the higher-quality DAC in the receiver. You songs will sound clearer and more realistic.

Choose colors to match your car and your taste
The fold-down face of the receiver offers plenty of room for displaying song info, and the bright dot-matrix display reads easily in a variety of lighting conditions. You can adjust the display and control colors of this receiver separately, so there are thousands of possible combinations on tap.

Want to keep your car's steering wheel audio controls?
In most vehicles, you can use an adapter to connect your vehicle's steering wheel controls to this Pioneer stereo. Connect a few wires, then program the adapter for your particular car and the Pioneer, and you'll retain the convenience of your steering wheel controls. Check the "Accessories" tab for compatible adapters.

Note: Bluetooth compatibility with this receiver may vary, depending on your phone and service provider.

Note: If you're going to use your iPod with this receiver, be sure to check "Details" for specific iPod model compatibility with this receiver.

HD Radio

HD Radio: The Pioneer DEH-P9400BH's built-in HD Radio tuner lets you listen to the radio with the same fidelity as your digital music. HD Radio features high quality audio, FM multi-casting, and data services. With HD Radio, your FM stations offer near CD-quality sound, AM stations provide FM-like sound, and there is crystal-clear reception with no audio distortion. Best of all, HD Radio is 100% subscription free. The unit's tuner also supports analog AM/FM broadcasts.

Note: HD Radio is the system for digital AM and FM broadcasting in the U.S. More than 2,000 radio stations are broadcasting their primary signals in digital HD Radio technology, as a free service. Go to HDRadio.com to check for HD Radio stations in your area.

Multicasting: In addition to conventional broadcasts, with HD Radio broadcasting it is possible to choose from up to 3 multicast programs (HD1 to HD3, and analog). There are also data programs for each program.

RDS: The Radio Data System (RDS) feature displays radio broadcast information such as artist, title, and album when listening to compatible analog or HD AM/FM stations.

iTunes Tagging: It is possible to save the song's information (tag) from a HD Radio or RDS FM broadcasting station to your USB-direct connected iPod/iPhone. The songs will show up in a playlist called "Tagged" in iTunes the next time you sync your iPod/iPhone. Then you can directly buy the songs you want from the iTunes Music Store.

Supertuner IIID: The Supertuner IIID features Feed Forward Control, which avoids multi-path interference. This pre-detection of interference enables quick filter control and results in less distortion. In addition, the Supertuner IIID creates enhanced stereo during multi-path interference, unlike conventional tuners that collapse to mono. Digital processing reduces distortion, and improves Signal-to-Noise Ratio and stereo separation. Advanced analog technology improves signal processing sensitivity.

Reception Blending: If a digital broadcast reception condition gets poor, this unit automatically switches to the analog broadcast of the same frequency level. If this function is set to "On", the tuner switches between digital broadcast and analog broadcast automatically. If this function is 'Off', reception will be conducted within an analog broadcast.

BSM (Best Stations Memory): The BSM (Best Stations Memory) function lets you automatically store the six strongest analog or HD stations under preset buttons 1-6 of the currently tuned band. The tuner has 3 FM banks and 1 AM bank. You can store 6 presets for each bank giving you a total of 18 FM presets and 6 AM presets.

Local Tuning: Local seek tuning lets you tune in only those radio stations with sufficiently strong signals for good reception. There are 4 level of sensitivity for FM and two levels for AM. The higher settings allow reception of only the strongest stations, while lower settings let you receive progressively weaker stations.

Satellite Radio Ready: You can connect and control an external satellite radio tuner from XM or Sirius. The XM or Sirius satellite radio tuner connects via the IP-Bus connector on the back of the head unit.

  • XM Satellite Radio: The head unit is compatible with the GEX-P920XM (130P920XM, sold separately) Pioneer XM receiver.
  • Sirius Satellite Radio: For Sirius there are two options; connect the SC-C1 SiriusConnect Universal Vehicle tuner and the CD-SB10 Pioneer Sirius Satellite Radio interface (700SIRPION, sold separately), or use the Pioneer Sirius Satellite Radio interface (130CDSB10, sold separately) and the SIRIUS dock-and-play adapter (607SCVDOC1, sold separately) along with a compatible portable SIRIUS radio.

Note: A subscription to XM or Sirius, plus the proper antenna is required in order to receive satellite radio programming.

Built-in Bluetooth

Bluetooth Technology: The DEH-P9400BH is equipped with built-in Bluetooth ver. 3.0 (powered by Parrot) allowing to make and receive phone calls wirelessly through the receiver; as well as stream music wirelessly from your smartphone to the head unit. Bluetooth Technology is a short-range wireless radio connectivity technology that was developed as a cable replacement for mobile phones and other electronic devices. Bluetooth operates in 2.4 GHz frequency range and transmits voice and data at speeds up to 1 megabit per second.

Bluetooth Profiles: In order to use Bluetooth wireless technology, your phone must also be Bluetooth compatible and be able to interpret certain profiles. This unit is compatible with the following Bluetooth Profiles:

  • Hands-Free Communication: HFP (Hands Free Profile), HSP (Head Set Profile), OPP (Object Push Profile), PBAB (Phone Book Access Profile).
  • Audio Streaming: A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile), AVRCP (Audio/Video Remote Control Profile).

Phone Pairing: Up to 5 Bluetooth-compatible devices can be registered to this head unit. Only one device can be used at a time.

Note: Due to the differences in Bluetooth technology, some Bluetooth enabled devices may be incompatible, function improperly, or may not support all features when used with the Pioneer DEH-P9400BH.

Hands-Free Communication: The DEH-P9400BH supports wireless hands-free communication (HFP/HSP/OPP/PBAB) for your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone. The head unit will display the caller's information and an audible ring tone will be heard through your vehicle's speaker during an incoming call. You can manually answer an incoming call or have the unit automatically answer the call. The DEH-P9400BH allows you to carry on a phone conversation from your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone using the head unit's external microphone and your car audio speakers. During a conversation you can adjust the volume, as well as switch between the Private Mode (talking directly on your cell phone) and the Hands Free Mode. Using the DEH-P9400BH, you can dial a phone number in one of the following ways:

  • Phone Book: The phone book in your Bluetooth enabled cellular phone will be transferred automatically when the phone is paired to this unit. After finding the number you want to call in the phone book from the head unit, you can select the entry and make the call. If a lot of numbers are registered in the phone book, you can search for a phone number by the contact person's name alphabetically (A-Z).
  • Call Log: The 80 most recent calls dialed, received, and missed are stored in memory. You can browse them and call numbers from these lists.

External Microphone: During your wireless phone call, you can talk into the head unit's included external microphone, and listen to the other party through the vehicle's speaker system. The external microphone provides better performance in noisy environments than the integrated microphone found on the front-panel of many aftermarket or factory radios. The microphone features a 13' cord that plugs into the back of the radio, and comes with an adjustable visor-mount clip. The microphone measures 0.475" (diameter) x 1.445" (depth).

Note: The unit is not equipped with an integrated microphone. The external microphone must be installed for Bluetooth hands-free communication.

Wireless Audio Streaming: The Pioneer DEH-P9400BH also supports wireless audio playback (AD2P) and control (AVRCP) of a Bluetooth enabled audio player or smartphone. The DEH-P9400BH will be able to control basic playback features; such as Play, Pause, Stop, Previous track, and Next track.

Note: When an incoming call or outgoing call is in progress from your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone, audio streaming will be paused so you can take your call. Once the call is finished, your streaming music will resume.

If this doesn't work, you may need to revert to the older software version or wait until a newer software update is available.

MusicSphere: Pioneer's new proprietary MusicSphere technology allows you to enjoy your music in a new way by creating unique mood-based playlists via iTunes for your Apple iOS device. When installed on your Windows PC, the MusicSphere iTunes plug-in software will analyze the entire music library and create specialized playlists based on various musical attributes such as feeling (bright, energetic, gloomy, relaxing calm), rhythm pattern, beats per minute (BPM), year of the song and/or date added to the device. Additionally, through the MusicSphere, you can select preferred parameters of your music to create a "DJ Playlist".

Note: You can download MusicSphere directly to your Windows PC from the Pioneer website.

Auxiliary Input: The DEH-P9400BH is equipped with a front-panel 3.5mm stereo minijack auxiliary input for connecting external components, such as a portable MP3 player. AUX must be turned on in the setup menu in order to be selected as a source.

2nd Auxiliary Input (optional): In addition to the front-panel minijack Aux input (AUX 1), you can connect a second auxiliary component by connecting an IP-Bus/RCA connector (AUX 2). The optional CD-RB10 (130CDRB10, sold separately) lets you connect an additional auxiliary component via the IP-Bus connector on the back of the head unit.

Audio Section

24 Bit D/A Converter: The Pioneer in-dash head unit utilizes a 24-bit digital to analog converter for superior CD sound quality.

MOSFET Amplifier: The DEH-P9400BH is equipped with a MOSFET amplifier. Compared to conventional power supplies, the MOSFET amplification circuit is smaller and more efficient, and it delivers increased power with less distortion and absolutely zero on/off switching noise. More power means louder and cleaner music at higher volumes because you're not pushing the limits of the amplification circuit.

CEA2006 Compliant: The power specifications for the DEH-P9400BH are compliant with the CEA2006 Mobile Amplifier Power Testing and Measurement standards from the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). These standards were developed as a way to equitably compare power specs from model to model and between manufacturers. The power output specs for the DEH-P9400BH are as follows:

  • CEA2006 Specs: 14 watts RMS x 4 channels (at 4 ohms, 20Hz-20kHz, 1% THD-N)
  • Continuous Power Output: 22 watts RMS x 4 channels (at 4 ohms, 50Hz-15kHz, 5% THD)
  • Maximum Power Output: 50 watts x 4 channels (or 50 watts x 2 channels at 4 ohms + 70 watts x 1 channel at 2 ohms for subwoofer)

7-Way Rotary Commander: The Pioneer DEH-P9400BH features a 7-Way Rotary Commander for easy control. You can scroll through your music and audio settings with greater ease using the 3-way rotary commander.

Advanced Sound Retriever: The Advanced Sound Retriever automatically enhances compressed audio and restores the original richness of the recording. Hear the detail, warmth, and clarity, the way the artist intended it, from all of your highly compressed MP3 and WMA files stored on your USB device, iPod/iPhone, and portable media players. By restoring data (especially higher frequencies) that tends to get lost in the digital compression process, Pioneer's Advanced Sound Retriever technology enhances audio reproduction nearly all the way up to 20 kHz frequencies

Preset EQ: The Pioneer DEH-P9400BH is equipped with seven EQ presets. You can choose from Powerful, Natural, Vocal, Super Bass, Flat, Custom 1, or Custom 2.

Graphic EQ: The DEH-P9400BH's two Custom EQ modes (1 & 2) let you adjust the head unit's 5-band graphic EQ (100Hz, 315Hz, 1.25kHz, 3.15kHz, & 8kHz). You can adjust each band between +6 to -6.

Bass Boost: The Bass Boost function raises the level of sounds lower than 100Hz. You can select a desired level of bass boost between 0 and 6 (Gain: 0dB to +12dB).

Loudness: The Loudness feature compensates for deficiencies in the low and high sound ranges at low volume. You can set the Loudness feature to Low, Mid, High, or Off.

Source Level Adjustment (SLA): This function lets you adjust the volume level of each source to prevent radical changes in volume when switching between sources. Settings are based on the volume level of the FM tuner, which remains unchanged. Each source can be independently adjusted from -4dB to +4dB.

Three Pair of 4.0-Volt Preamp Outputs: The Pioneer DEH-P9400BH features three pair of 4.0-volt preamp outputs (Front/Rear/Subwoofer). The unit's front and rear preamp output can be faded (front/rear), while the subwoofer preamp output is non-fading.

Crossovers: The DEH-P9400BH employs high pass and low pass crossovers to tailor the head unit to your connected speakers.

  • High Pass: The head unit's 12dB/octave high pass filter only allows frequencies higher than those in the selected range (50, 63, 80, 100, 125Hz) to your front and rear speakers through the unit's speaker-level or line-level outputs.
  • Low Pass: The subwoofer preamp output features an18dB/octave low pass filter so only frequencies lower than those in the selected range (50, 63, 80, 100, 125Hz) are output to your connected subwoofer.

Subwoofer Controls: The Pioneer DEH-P9400BH lets you adjust the subwoofer preamp output's phase (normal/reverse) and volume (+6 to -24).

Rear Channel Speaker Output: You can choose to use the rear channel output (speaker and preout) for full-range speaker or subwoofer. If you select "subwoofer", you can connect a 4-ohm subwoofer directly to each rear speaker lead, or a 2-ohm subwoofer to one of the rear speaker leads, without using an external amplifier.

Display Features

Detachable Fold-Down Face: The Pioneer DEH-P9400BH in-dash CD receiver features a manual fold-down faceplate with detachable face security. The manual fold-down face helps to prevent dust from gathering on the unit's CD mechanism. If the front panel is not detached from the head unit within five seconds of turning off the ignition, a warning tone will sound. The warning tone can be turned off in the menu, if desired. A face-fixing screw is supplied for making the face non-detachable, if desired.

Note: No face case is included with this unit. An optional soft face case (142DFC1X, sold separately) can be purchased for this unit.

Large Full-Dot LCD: The Pioneer DEH-P9400BH features a 3-line full-dot LCD which makes it easier to see what is playing in most lighting conditions. You can easily view file/folder lists from your MP3, WMA, AAC, and CD Text-encoded discs, HD Radio presets, or data from your connected iPod/iPhone. The contrast of the display can be set between 0 and 15.

Color Customization: Color Customization lets the user match their receiver illumination to their vehicle's interior lighting. Over 210,000 colors are available to match the illumination of almost any car. The button illumination and display illumination colors can be customized separately for an endless number of color combinations. You can select from 27 preset colors (White to Rose), customize an illumination color (by adjusting Red, Blue, and Green brightness levels), or scan through various color settings (All/Warm/Ambient/Calm/Custom).

Ever Scroll: When the Ever Scroll feature is set to On, recorded text information scrolls continuously on the display. It will auto-scroll up to 64 characters. Set this feature to Off if you prefer the information to scroll only once.

Multi-Language Display: For your convenience, this unit is equipped with a multiple language display. You can select the language which is best suited to your first language - English, French, or Spanish.

Entertainment Displays: You can enjoy entertainment displays while listening to each sound source. You can choose from the following;  Background Visual, Genre, Background Picture (1/2/3/4), Simple Display, Movie Screen, or Calendar.

Calendar/Clock Display: The Pioneer DEH-P9400BH provides time, date, month, and year display. You can choose to have the head unit display the calendar and clock even when the unit is powered off (your vehicle must be running or in the accessory position).

Engine Time Alert: This setting allows  you to measure the length of time that elapses from when the head unit is turned on and display the amount of elapsed time per set period (15 min., 30 min., or Off). There will also be an audible alarm. This function is handy if you are listening to the radio with the vehicle' ignition is in the accessory position, and the engine off.

Dimmer: To prevent the display from being too bright at night, the display is automatically dimmed when the car's headlights are turned on. You can turn the dimmer on or off. The automatic dimmer function only works when the orange/white illumination wire in the wiring harness is connected to the vehicle's headlight circuit.

Remote Control

Wireless Remote Control: The DEH-P9400BH comes with an IR wireless remote control. The remote allows you to control the volume, switch between sources, pause the CD, change the display, and adjust the audio. The mute button allows you to quickly lower the volume by about 90% (function that cannot be performed from the front panel). In addition, the remote provides answer/end phone controls for Bluetooth.

Steering Wheel Remote Compatibility: The head unit features an OEM steering wheel remote control input on the rear of the unit to allow you to keep your vehicle's radio steering wheel remote controls when used with the optional PAC SWI-PS Steering Wheel Control Interface Adapter (127SWIPS, sold separately); or the optional Metra ASWC Steering Wheel Control Interface Adapter (120ASWC, sold separately).

Works Great, I have both my ipod and iphone 4s with pandora hooked up. It plays seemlessly through the mountains. it just takes longer to start up. Siri works but you have to speak very plainly with as little background noise as possible. Ive had Pioneer supertuners since the seventies and have had nothing but good luck with them in fact my old '75 Pioneer TP-900 still works great , but it's getting harder to find 8tracks.
Pros:
Sounds great! Very versital. l
Cons:
the manual was hard to read, type too small and the instructions were'nt the clearest to understand but once I printed out the manual from the pioneer website and enlarged it to full page, it was all good. Still, it's a bit hard to navigate, but you get used to it.

Was very impressed with the functionality of this head unit. I replaced my factory 6 Disc CD Changer with this unit and it totally improved the sound quality of my Bose Speaker system. I love the fact that it has two rear USB hookups so that I have no exposed wires coming from the unit and can hook up my Nano and iPhone both! The Bluetooth works great and is simple to use and pulls over your address book too. For a single din receiver this is by far one of, if not the best on the market. I thought about going to a double din but this one surpassed many of the doubles with the options it has for the money. Also I hooked up the GMOS warning chime and Onstar retainer and the ASWC controler for my steering wheel radio controls and it all worked flawlessly the first hook up! Probably had about an hour and half in installation. VERY HAPPY! Thanks Crutchfield.
Pros:
Bang for you Buck, Two Rear USB outputs, Integrated Bluetooth, Pandora availability.
Cons:
Single Din Reciever, Text is a little Grainy.

I originally found out this radio was going to be released during the spring of this year on the Pioneer website. It has every feature I want in a radio. I like the fact you still can use compact disks and most of all use flash drives rather than an iPod. The HD tuner is great, signal strength is awesome. The Bluetooth for the cellphone works excellent and people can hear me fine. iPod feature is flawless and menus are responsive. I had a few Alpine head units the CDA117 and the CDA105. This radio hands down sounds better then both of those head units and plus bass throughput from the head unit has my factory speakers popping when the lows hit because of the loudness/bass boost setting. Also to mention it has a 24-bit DAC to do internal decoding which is nice and most of my music sounds pretty much live.

Note this doesn't come with an iPod connection and purchased the Kenwood KCA-iP102 cable just for the fact the cable was cheap and it works.
Pros:
5-Band EQ, CD-Player, color changing feature.
Cons:
The standoffs that hold the face has me concerned about the life of the material.

AWESOME !!! - Best price, options, quality - GO PIONEER !!!

Pioneer never fails to satisfy me. I own and still have a DEX-P99 Premier purchased 1996 that has been retired , still in working condition, in the original box, stuffed away in my closet. I will not throw that thing away since there are many audio memories so dearly attached! Around 2002 I purchased a DEH-P930 but wasn't so pleased with the sound quality after being spoiled with the P99. It wasn't a disappointment but rather an acclimation to something that was different like XM radio and cool graphics on an OEL screen that slowly faded in brightness. It's still in my Acura which will probably be removed for my personal keeping before I sell the car.

Today, 2-15-2012, I have received my DEH-P9400BH with all the necessary installation gear after anxiously waiting and tracking the package every several hours. Had a question about the 12V power lead for the antenna adapter for my 2000 Beetle which led to a phone call to Crutchfield tech support. The wait time was about 7 minutes. The tech was very knowledgeable, helpful, and courteous. Within 20 minutes I had the wire harness soldered and heat-shrinked. After 1 installation was complete! Thereafter about 2 hours of playtime and learning. This thing plays everything!!!!

PIONEER ----------------------------->> AWESOME RADIO !!!!!! Will always be a loyal customer!!!
Pros:
Price, Value, Ease of Use, Many Features, Reliable
Cons:
None

Second Best ever build from Pioneer

Written By Falcon, Seattle, wa on Friday, May 18, 2012

I leave build quality 3, only because it is made in China. Wire are now 20 gauges. It used to be 14 g. for better sound. Quality generally is acceptable. Better than other brand I see. More features for your money like HD tuner, 2 USB, colour and graphic.
Pros:
All features you have look for. BT, USB, nice display, equalizer. Price.
Cons:
Equalizer is a bit hard to adjust comparing to older version like the best DEH-P980BT.

Nice Deck

Crutchfield Customer Review

This is the first deck I have bought in a quite a while. The wife and I decide on this one for several reasons. First, I had not even looked at new decks in several years and was impressed with the Parrot built bluetooth connectivity. The clarity is fantastic and I like how it syncs with your phone (I have a Samsung Epic android and the wife has the Iphone 4S). It pulls up missed calls, previous calls, ,messages and your contact list. Since this is installed in my wife's Tahoe, I haven't used it alot yet, but am impressed so far. I also liked having 2 rear USB ports. I ran one to the center storage console and out so the wife can plug in the Iphone. I ran the other USB extension cord to the glove box so I can plug in whatever I need. Being able to change the display and keypad colors is cool also.
Pros:
*Parrot Bluetooth *2 REAR USB inputs *1 1/8" front input *Can change keypad and display colors *Works seamlessly with the GMOS controller and with steering wheel controls *Can turn on/off sub woofer output from deck controls *Plethora of features for the price
Cons:
*It could be just a glitch with my steering wheel controls, but if you go past a function, like radio, you cannot go back to it without going all the way around again. Just a minor annoyance. *I do agree that the manual could be better written. I had a few questions, especially with the GMOS control and steering wheel controller. I called Crutchfield a couple of times and the techs were very helpful.

Installed in a 2002 GMC Yukon XL
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
Crutchfield Customer Review

The reviewer purchased this item from us, verified by the email address on the order.

I did a lot of online research before deciding to purchase this stereo for my Yukon XL. The reasons I bought this unit were: -Parrot Bluetooth calling (very clear phone calls in the car!) -Rear USB portS for connecting iPod and MP3 players (so, no "cord dangle" in front). Able to route the iPod cable through the dash to a center console area -Clean and solid looking display -Metal multi-control knob (I want things to feel durable when I'm going to use it a lot, not flimsy!) -Behind-plate CD slot, so the display is larger (for 1-DIN, this can be a big deal) -Pandora App compatible when you connect your iPhone. I'm a big Pandora fan, and plan to get my 1st iPhone later this year, so I was looking ahead when choosing this unit.

So those were my priorities. Plus, I wanted to make sure that I was going with a solid brand name. Honestly, the combination of Pioneer and Parrot is what grabbed my attention. Installation was actually quite easy. I imagine that is likely to be the case with most late models (10 years and newer), since the dash plate is made to disconnect fairly easily, and the stereo is on rails and clips. I followed all of the directions that Crutchfield supplied and was done in a short amount of time. The only caveat is that the instructions missed one wire splice that i needed to do in addition to what was in the instructions. A quick call to Crutchfield Tech support fixed that in a jiffy (Thanks MATT!).
Pros:
Great Bluetooth connection and call quality. When connected to bluetooth, it also shows your phones signal strength and battery level! 2 USB connections, plus iPhone app compatibility, plus bluetooth calling AND media streaming give you lots of media options. Solid-feeling controls, nice display and nice button layout. Lots of sound options beyond just your basics, to tune it best to your car's hardware. Who doesn't love a remote?!
Cons:
Takes a little while to get used to new controls from the original stock GM stereo. Some settings can take you by surprise, so I recommend you keep the manual handy and keep reading through the features.. which are a LOT!
