An enclosure is simply the box that houses your sub; sealed and ported enclosures are the most popular types. A sealed enclosure is usually smaller in size, sacrificing a little volume level to deliver more accurate bass. The ported enclosure features a vent which allows bass waves to escape from behind the mounted sub, augmenting the bass coming off the front of the sub. Ported boxes are louder, bigger, and a little less accurate. Every sub works best in the size and type of enclosure that's recommended by the manufacturer, so make sure you match your sub with the right box. Pioneer built the UD-SW10B sealed subwoofer box to provide an ideal enclosure for their 10" shallow-mount subwoofers. It's designed to take advantage of the slim profile of these subs. The box fits neatly behind the seat of many trucks, or it can go in an SUV's cargo area while taking up a minimum of cargo space. Internal bracing reinforces the box's rigid 3/4" MDF construction to help curb resonance, and black auto-grade carpet covers the box's exterior. The contrasting front panel features a snazzy bar-shaped grille that adds a distinctive look. Gold-plated binding posts hold speaker wire securely in place. Features Compatibility: This enclosure is specifically designed for a single Pioneer 10" shallow component sub woofer. Materials: The box is constructed of 3/4" MDF (medium-density fiberboard). MDF resists flexing and has anti-resonant qualities. Design: Complementing the shallow subwoofer, this enclosure provides the optimum sealed box volume for truly full-size woofer performance. Designed to take up a minimum of space, the enclosure fits neatly behind the rear seat of many pickup trucks or in the cargo area of an SUV. The high-quality construction features sturdy 3/4" MDF and includes internal bracing for strength and bass clarity. The exterior is black auto upholstery with a star-graphite thermofoil front panel. Heavy-duty gold binding posts make connection a snap. Terminals: The spring post wire terminals, located on the right side of the enclosure, will accept bare wire (up to 10 gauge), pin connectors, banana plugs, and dual banana plugs. Brackets: Brackets (not included) are recommended for more secure mounting. Product Reviews Review this product Thanks for taking the time to share your experiences about this product.
