Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
Excellent upgrade. I bought the AVIC-Z110BT head unit in 2010, and was pleased overall. I bought the CNSD210-FM upgrade primarily for the firmware update, and I suspect most of the cost was associated w/ the 2011 map updates (which is bs). Anyhow, the installation was straightforward and took about an hour; FYI, you will need to go directly to pioneer's website for the install instructions. Post-upgrade, very pleased with the firmware update. The iPod GUI has been completely reworked, and took about a day to figure everything out (without reading any manuals, and while driving, heh). There's an iPhone-like scroll capability for any list (playlists, songs, etc.); it's not as sensitive/responsive as an iPhone, you need to touch and hold the screen for a second before flipping your finger, but it's functionality is better than the original scroll buttons. All GUI transitions between screens / lists are animated and looks slick; the animations are slightly laggy (barely noticeable), but this might not be true of the later receivers. Most notable of the navigation interface: There's an automatic autocomplete / letter-dim feature as you type when entering a destination through the receiver; nice work Pioneer. There were several bluetooth updates during installation, but I never use BT, so no comment. Overall, this is a definite step up from the original Z110BT firmware, and I recommend it.
