About the Pioneer TS-A1305C

John Pollard

Get more out of your music

Are your car's factory speakers sounding less than fresh? Pioneer built their A-Series speakers to be high-performance replacements for your old speakers, designed from the ground up to bring back the life that your music's been missing. You'll be able to enjoy the clear vocals, chunky guitar riffs, powerful drums, and distinct bass lines that have always been a part of your favorite tunes, but have remained hidden behind sub-par speakers.

Built to make your music rock

Pioneer equipped the TS-A1305C component speaker system with 5-1/4" multilayer mica-matrix woofers that stay rigid when the volume's turned up, keeping distortion to a minimum so your bass sounds clean. Install the separate 3/4" tweeters in a good spot up high in your vehicle for better stereo imaging. The system also includes 2-way outboard crossovers, a step up from the inline tweeter high-pass filters usually found in systems in this price range.

These speakers will sound great running off your factory radio, but they'll really shine when driven by an aftermarket receiver or an external amp. Don't drive another day listening to tired-sounding tunes, when you can enjoy Pioneer sound quality with these speakers in your vehicle.

Installation note: You'll need a pair of our universal backstraps to install the tweeters in the factory locations.

I used 50 watts per side. It said it was 100 watts. BUT, fin e print was 50 watts x 2. Worked fine. No longer own the car, but I liked driving it much better after these were installed than before.

Q
could i mount the tweeter on the speaker itself? i know its not exactly what someone would do, but i would rather do this for now . thanks . also i read that it could be flush mounted so id like to know if that answers my question.

I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: You cannot mount the tweeter onto the woofer in this set of speakers. Flush mounting refers to mounting the speaker in an existing tweeter location where it is hidden behind the factory speaker grille. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat.

Q
When adding these speakers to replace a factory woofer and tweeter system do I strip the wires (take off the ends) going to the old woofer and twist it with the the wire going to the Pioneer's crossover and cap it off? From the pictures It looks like the wire coming off of the crossover is already stripped.

Hi Jason, That is a good question. In my application (2002 Chevy Tahoe), I had separate feeds (wires) going to the the factory woofer and factory tweeter. These feeds came from the factory amplifier, and as such the hi and low signals were already split out. I did not use the Pioneer cross-over, as the source cabling (wires) would only supply either the hi-freq or low-freq signals (depending on which speaker feed was being connected to. If the source cable is full spectrum, like a direct connection to the head-end, then the cross-over will be utilized fully and split the signal to the new woofer and tweeter. So to simplify, if you are using factory speaker wires, and there is separate signal feed to the woofers and tweeters, you probably do not need to connect the cross-over, as the factory wiring usually has an on-board amp which splits the signals. If you know that the cabling goes directly to the head-end and/or after-market amp, then utilize that single signal feed to the cross-over. I hope that answers your question and was not too confusing. As far as stripping wires, the new had polarized bullet connectors between the cross-over and speakers; you can get a matching factory connector or solder or crimp old wiring to new.
