The speakers that originally came in your car were made from inexpensive materials, designed to create acceptable sound at the lowest possible cost to the manufacturer. If you love music, you deserve better. Name-brand aftermarket speakers deliver fuller, richer sound with considerably more detail and nuance, and they're capable of playing louder and cleaner than factory speakers. Connect new speakers to your factory radio and you'll get the best possible sound from your dealer-equipped system. Pair them up with a new car stereo for a level of enjoyment that can rival a high-fidelity home audio experience. Haven't listened to much music in your car recently? Maybe your factory speakers are on their last legs. Pioneer's A-Series speakers deliver great-sounding music in your car, and their low profile allows them to fit into tight places where other speakers won't go. The TS-A1672R 6-1/2"/6-3/4" speakers feature polypropylene woofers reinforced with Aramid fibers so they'll stand up to the stress of high-volume playback. Butyl rubber surrounds help keep cone movement smooth and accurate, so the bass stays tight and clear. Precision midrange drivers add vibrance and clarity to the vocals and instrumentals. You'll hear everything from the stroke of the violin to the chimes of the percussion as soft dome tweeters disperse sparkling highs. Install a pair of TS-A1672R speakers in your car and impress your friends with concert-quality tunes. Features Woofers: Each speaker features carbon graphite IMPP (Injection Molded Polypropylene) cone woofers interlaced with long Aramid fibers. This IMPP cone design provides the strength and rigidity powerful bass sound requires. The high-density, compressed internal architecture is resilient, stacks up against high power and transfers sound very quickly. The result is full-bodied, rich sound. Surrounds: For durability and a smoother response, each woofer uses a butyl rubber surround. Magnet/Voice Coils: Each woofer features a 9-ounce Strontium magnet with heat-resistant Polyester-Imide resin coated voice coil wires. This helps resist speaker failure due to excessive heat buildup. Midranges: Each speaker has a 1-1/4" lightweight diaphragm balanced-dome midrange for fast, accurate response with low distortion. The midrange has a 0.1 ounce neodymium magnet and magnetic cooling fluid. Tweeters: Each speaker uses a 3/8" PET silver film dome tweeter for crisp, clear highs. Mounting: The speakers can be mounted in a 6-1/2" opening, or, using the four mounting tabs, the speakers can be mounted in a 6-3/4" opening. I got these after not liking the Pioneer TS-G1642R. These have the upgraded driver. Good bass and high are clear. Great stock replacement in the doors. One thing that crutchfield doesn't tell you when you are replacing speakers and have to use the adaptors. make sure to plug all holes surrounding your speakers. If there are holes in the door that are behind the speaker you will not get any bass out of the speaker. I plugged mine up with some silicone. Easy to put on and easy to take off. I have a 2006 Accord and had to use the adaptors. 5 out of 5 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? Fronts go in without removing door panel (contrary to instructions). Wiring jumper harnesses make it soooo easy, much better than trying to crimp on new connectors, etc. On the rears however, you must trim the outward mounting tabs for the 6" circle holes, as they interfere with the mounting surround and will not allow the speaker to fit flush. You must also loosen the rear panel to gain access to the speaker (contrary to instructions), which is an Acura problem, not a Crutchfield or Pioneer problem. 3 out of 3 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? The Pioneer 6x9 TS-A6962R speakers that I had ordered did not fit in the speaker wells. My advisor suggested buying these 6 1/2" speakers with the 142SA69 universal mounting adapters, instead. The adapters did not fit without doing some significant filing of the outside edges, but when the speakers were finally installed the sound was so much better, especially with fade set in favor of the rear of the car and bass set all the way up on my factory receiver. 1 out of 1 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? The sound quality of these speakers is very good and I bought them so I could actually hear the music with a 15" sub. And wow there is one heck of a difference I would definitely suggest these to someone looking for some clear mid and high range speakers. And before i forget these almost do not distort. Cons: I will admit the bass is weaker than what i was expecting and the magnet is considerably bigger than your stock speakers one so be warned when putting these in doors. I had to adjust the door mount a little bit and for some reason on the driver side it intereferes with the window... 10 out of 10 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? I bought them to replace my front door factory speakers, and they sound a lot better. I was a little worried when I ordered them because some of the reviews said that these speakers weren't that great, but the reviews were wrong. They are great if you are wanting a speaker with crisp sound that hits the highs, mids, and lows well. The main thing to remember is that if you are wanting a speaker that hits the bass hard, then you need to add a subwoofer. I have a Pioneer TS-W301R sub hooked up along with my speakers, and together they sound great. I would recommend others to buy these speakers. They are probably the best thing I have ever bought for 80 dollars, besides my sub. 16 out of 16 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? Yes | No 4 out of 5 Better than factory Written By Ben, New Jersey on Sunday, September 16, 2007 I bought these to replace the factory front speakers in My 2002 Honda Odyssey. It was somewhat of a gamble since the "outfit my car" says that they would not fit. It was a reasonably easy install. I did have to drill new holes for the screws, but other than that it was 20 minute job.I wanted an inexpensive solution to improve the low end. These speakers were not as efficient as the factory ones (so they don't quite go as loud), but the low end that was missing, is there finally. (with the factory speakers, the lack of low end would show up on low to moderate volumes while travelling fast, you would really have to turn up the volume to hear anything) I really would rate these 3 1/2 stars, but part of that rating would be due to my factory head unit not being very good, and that the front doors aren't the best location to install these. With a better head unit, these would be 4 stars and a rear deck install, would probably bring them even higher. The new head unit will have to be my next project. 7 out of 11 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? Some people like them and others dont. Hopefully I can clarify this a little. If you are looking to upgrade your entire system with loud speakers and lots of bass, then these MAY not be what you are looking for.I have a 2002 Firebird with the stock Delco 7 band equalizer stereo. Of course the stock speakers were blown. I wanted to keep the stock stereo for now but upgrade my sound. I purchased these Pioneer 3 way speakers for the rear and the Pioneer 2 way for the front. The bass is punchy and the mids are good with nice crisp highs. The louder you play the stereo, you may need to turn the bass down a little to avoid the flutter but I have found that with any 6.5" speaker. I chose to go with the 2 ways in the front because I will receive a little more bass with them then I would the 3 ways. The 3 ways have excellent mids, the 2 ways are more high and low. If you accompany the speakers with a small sub or even a 50 - 100 Watt Bazooka tube, you will have an excellent sound system on a low budget. This is not for competition, but will blow the doors off the stock speakers. For stock replacement or a stereo on a budget, these speakers sound very good. I can play them louder and with more bass then my stock speakers ever could have. One thing GM has done well, is add good bass to their cars. Unfortunately, the stock speakers blow easy because of that.Remember, these are NOT Boston Acoustics. We are talking about good sound, low budget. 31 out of 32 people found this helpful Was this review helpful?
