Florida on Thursday, December 06, 2007 These speakers are amazing! I started my system off with two kenwood tens and had to find something to match the lows. my stock door speakers just couldn't handle it and blew after a few weeks. I had the lows already so i needed the highs to make a well rounded sound. These speakers did the trick. I owned a 99 Tacoma and put these in all 4 corners. It sounded amazing. I liked them so much that after i sold the truck i bought another pair to put in the back of my tundra. Great speaker, great buy. Hands down. Was this review helpful? Yes | No 2 out of 5 Not very happy Written By David, Erie, PA on Thursday, July 19, 2007 I bought these after reading the reviews here. Installation was a breeze, they fit right in to my '97 Dodge Dakota with no modifications.I wanted more than 2 way speakers and these do deliver on the high end -- not shril, very pleasing to the ear. That said... the midrange and low end are far worse than the 10 year old factory paper speakers that these replaced. Really, almost inexcusably worse. The mid/lows are very thin -- my wife describes them as "hollow" sounding. These are driven by a Pioneer DEH-P77DH head unit. They are installed in the front door panels of the vehicle, with 6 3/4" factory speakers still in the rear. I can do an A-B comparison using the fader in the HU to switch all the sound between the front and rear. I was going to replace the factory rears with these (so all four would be identical), but now I'm considering keeping the factory in the back so I have at least some low end.I give these two stars -- one for the installation and one for the high end, but I can't say that I'd ever recommend these to anyone. 3 out of 5 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? The tweeter and super tweeter cover the highs nicely, not too piercing. Everything sounds pretty good with these. Granted, I had factory paper 15 Watt pieces of crap in there originally. The 91dB sensitivity I think is what makes these really work.I installed two of these speakers recently when I bought a Kenwood double-din head unit. They fit perfectly in my 2000 4Runner. I had to solder them in, but no biggy. I don't remember what the impedance of these were, but I didn't care because I didn't know what impedance my receiver was anyhow. (Max power transfer, anyone here an electrical engineer? For max power - impedance of speakers should equal impedance of head unit).
