Written By Luke, NY on Saturday, January 21, 2006 I bought these for the front of my '90 Lumina and after listening to my old torn paper cones I am impressed! I usually don't turn speakers up until a few hours after listening to let the surround/spider parts(suspension) loosen up. You won't get the most bass by blaring them from the start. People are expecting bass from these like subwoofer quality when its just not gonna happen. These are small speakers. Anyway, I have a Sony head with 23 watts RMS and Audiobahn 6x9s in the rear. I have 4 12" subs(2 MTX 4500s and 2 Audiobahn AW121T) being powered by a Jensen 720 watt and a Sony 1200 watt amp. So as you can see I didn't reallt need these for bass. I have been listening to different speakers over the past few years and I have to say that these Pioneers are some of the best I've ever tried! When I turn the bass down a few clicks, I can turn my Sony head unit up to around 28/34 (volume) and these don't distort!!! Was this review helpful? I thougt it might be installation, but the speaker had come apart. The outer ring was detached. The product used to adhere the material to the frame was not working. I now have a useless speaker, that has a vibrating noise.(woofer not attached) Time for new speakers!!! 1 out of 4 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? And the high and mid tone are amazing and crystal clear. U cannot expect bass from these because they are just too small to make any. But in a complete system with a sub these can't be beat. 3 out of 5 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? Written By david, Scottsdale, Arizona on Tuesday, May 31, 2005 I installed these in my Chevy Silverado. Installation went quick once I juggled the plate and speaker to mark the holes to drill. The sound however leaves something to be desired. I was expecting more bass. Not like a subwoofer can deliver or even 6x9's, but at least some bass. There is none. What I wasn't expecting was the flapping noise I heard when I turned up the bass control. Wow! I should have ordered some bass blockers. At first I thought they just couldn't handle any power, then I realized they can't handle any bass...none. The overall sound is clear and as long as you don't push them with more than 15 clean watts they should fill out the upper mid range. What do you want for $50.00 anyway. 23 out of 29 people found this helpful Was this review helpful?
