Solid Speakers

Written by: MM from TX on November 13, 2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The speakers sound very good especially for the price. A good quality product for an excellent price. Highly recommend speakers.

Now the negative. Crutchfield says these speakers fit my car. They do not. They required a bracket in order to be placed in door. No bracket was provided, nor did Crutchfield have a bracket for sale that would work. Luckily I am handy at fabricating things and was able to cut the stock speakers away from their solid plastic mounting using a roto tool and then attach new speakers to the mounting that was actually the one piece stock speaker before I began fabricating. Once speakers were installed I was very happy with the quality of the speaker.

Pros: Great sound for price

Cons: did not fit and required a lot of fabricating to get to fit

Great factory replacement!

Not What I Hoped for

Written by: DR from D/FW TX on September 28, 2014

Replaced factory speakers with these in the front and the counterpart to these in the rear. Not as impressed as I had hoped to be. Not wanting to add power I asked for the advice and a recommendation from Crutchfield, I figured as long as these guys have been around they would know what they were talking about. Back in the day Pioneer was about as good as it got, however with the innovations in technology seems that Pioneer is still languishing on their success of the past. The highs are tinny and the lows are seemingly non existent. These are attached to an integrated factory head unit in a 2012 Nissan Pathfinder which in my estimation is a pretty good unit for a factory head unit. The speakers that came out are what you would expect out of any factory system, paper woofer with a paper tweeter not bad for what they are, however in this instance the factory speaker sounded better than the Pioneers. The build quality of the Pioneer speaker seems to be quite good however the sound coming from the pair I have, is not impressive at all. In my opinion I would be better served had I just left the factory speakers in. Disappointed, very much so

Pros: Good build quality and installation instructions were spot on perfect.

Cons: The sound emitting from the pair have is a whole lot less than good. Good thing these are inexpensive they will look great in the garbage.

Full, balanced sound

Written by: Lonnie B from Metro DC on August 28, 2014

Replaced stock speakers in a 2015 Subaru Forester with stock HU. Much improved sound already. Solid, clear bass without being muddy; balanced mids and highs. Great value for the price.

Unfortunately the "scratch and dent" speakers I ordered lacked some hardware and the terminals on both speakers had been previously soldered. That's used, not a cosmetic defect. That's on Crutchfield rather than the speakers, so I'm still giving five stars on the speakers.

Pros: Perfect fit with provided mounts Good accessories

Cons: Beware "open box" or "scratch and dent."

I was hesitant to buy these 6x9's to replace my factory speakers. I decided to take a chance even though they did not look like substantial speakers. I was pleasantly surprised by the sound I got out of them. The highs are crisp and they deliver solid mids. They handle the power without much distortion until you realy start to turn the volume up.

Pros: Easy to install. Great sound.

Cons: None.

2013 Toyota Highlander
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These speakers are decent replacement speakers considering the speakers I replaced out of my 2013 Highlander. The highs could be better, but overall, sound is still significantly better than stock. I'm still using stock player so, don't be fooled by my lack of satisfaction. Pioneer has always been top three in my list.

Pros: good full range speaker. bass is pretty good considering the woofer composition type.

Cons: highs could be better, but then again, it's probably because I'm using a stock player.

Shocked (in a very good way)

1999 Honda Civic
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have a non-stock deck with a decent EQ, which helps a lot. But, I am very used to the sound of the stock speakers in the car. These new 6x9s are so darn good, I actually cringed when I moved the fader from the back to the front stock speakers. The Pioneers are truly stunning with a some EQ tweaks. I honestly never in a million years thought my 99 Civic could sound this good. I'm excited to drive it. Funny how good sound can change your outlook on an hour long commute.

Pros: Handles a lot of low end. Very tight and punchy.

Cons: None.

2001 Dodge Ram
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

As advertised, these speakers are three-way with a very clear sound and handle all the wattage that my stereo can put out. Frankly I was suspicious with such a low price but cannot find anything wrong with them, the included adapter worked perfectly and now I can rock to some oldie (to you maybe) tunes while heading to various work assignments.

Pros: easy to install, great sound, very responsive at almost all frequencies.

Cons: cover does not fit when installed.

Great Speakers

2002 Toyota Camry
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

For the price you can't beat the sound. Bass is tight and not over emphasized, mids are not drowned out. The highs are a little too subtle for me but I have separate tweeters to take care of that. They fit perfectly in the front doors of a 2002 Camry with stock mounting.

Pros: Great sound. Fit in front doors of 2002 Camry with JBL system with stock mounting.

Cons: None. I plan on buying another pair for the rear.

I spoke to a Crutchfield sales rep and asked for the best speakers that would fit my car. These were the ones recommended to me even though there were others that were more expensive. After installing them I was very pleased with the outcome. They sound much better than my old factory speakers. They pack plenty of punch and surprisingly good bass response. I would highly recommend them.
