Pioneer Stage 4 PRS Midrange Component Speakers

Pioneer PRS Series component speaker systems deliver superb sound with a wide open soundstage, so you'll hear your music faithfully reproduced and in perfect balance throughout your car's interior. Pioneer designed these midrange component speakers as part of their Stage 4 System, along with the DEX-P99RS receiver, PRS Series amplifiers, PRS component speaker systems, and the TS-W252PRS subwoofer, to deliver uncompromised sound quality in your vehicle.

Two-layer cones for clear and mellow vocals

Each TS-S062PRS 2-5/8" speaker features a cone made from hard Aramid fibers and cellulose pulp that gives your music a mellow feel while still handling sharp attacks with clean fidelity. A rubber surround holds its shape even when the speaker's driven hard, so you'll enjoy impressive midrange accuracy that'll make the vocal and instrumental details sound out. An aluminum center plug improves sound dispersion and dissipates heat for a longer life.

Back chamber improves power handling and tightens the sound

Each TS-S062PRS comes with a sealed "chamber" that you can fit onto the back of the speaker to acoustically suspend the cone, which increases power-handling ability and improves the speaker's transition from your music's low notes to the midrange.

How these speakers fit in your Stage 4 system

The DEX-P99RS Stage 4 receiver boasts 4 sets of preamp outputs for highs, mids, lows, and subs, allowing you to add these TS-S062PRS midrange speakers to a PRS component system, then use PRS Series amps to drive each component separately. You'll enjoy a powerful stereo image and superb sound quality.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Incredible craftsmanship/performance in a tiny package. And Crutchfield made the $$ bite less painful selling them for less than half retail. They can easily stand up to the two pair of Polk mids that I'm running, and are able able to place that power into the 2 1/2" space available in my dash!

Pros: Dynamite packed into a thimble.

Cons: None at this price.

Absolutely great speaker for its size and details!

Pros: Absolutely great details!

Cons: Absolutely not built for low end so don't test them because once blown they cannot be rebuilt or repaired,

Very Good Dash Speaker Option

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I directly compared these in their planned mounting locations to the following speakers: Audison Voce 3" and a H-Audio Trinity 3". I found these to be the best choice because of their size (smaller, no cutting) and, while they surely didn't manage bass as well as the 3" competition it had, I wouldn't be feeding it bass anyway. I concluded that I could run these without a tweeter but adding in the tweeter gives better realism. I do think these are a bit on the "too warm" side, though, in the sense that, when compared to the Audison Voce 3" especially, certain details were less evident. Not lost, but less evident. Putting these in their little mounting cups solved most if not all of the problems so that was nice. I wish more midrange options would be offered in this size - so easy to fit into a dash location and not have to screw around with a-pillars that'll probably shoot metal speakers at your face if you have curtain airbags and get in an accident.

Pros: Contends with 3" drivers Good dash speaker / off-axis is strong Mounting cups enhance SQ noticeably

Cons: Warm, a bit less detailed than I'd prefer. Add the tweeter in and its fine.

These are absolutely a must!!! I was reluctant due to how much these little guys cost!!!,but let me tell you I couldn't imagine not having them and I have an awesome setup AlpineW910 HU,Alpine H701 w/Rux controller(processor/X-over/Eq./Ta), ,Polk Sr6500 6-3/4 in doors,Kicker Cvt 6-3/4 mid bass drivers in rear,2x Alpine Swx 10" subs in rear, run on 4 big high end Phoenix Gold amps!! they will try to tell these were made just for the Stage4 systems(bull!!)any spkr can be properly crossed over and made to work along side other brand speakers! aslong as you don't cross these over to low(I have mine at about 315hz and up!)these will scream(loud)I was so amazed that the out put of these keep up Polk $750 a pr. door spkrs!(amazing)although not my most expensive piece of gear in my car, they are my favorites!! just adds so much more mids(vocals,guitar,cymbals/high hats ect!)and really makes a night and day difference in the whole front sound stage!! would give em' 10 stars but wasn't an option? trust me these will be your best bang for the buck!! Jim M.

Pros: They totally rock, adds so much to front sound stage! the loudest per size speaker I ever heard! remember its not much bigger than a tweeter and is a full blown mid range driver!(just don't try to put too much low end to it!)

Cons: NON!!!!!!(ok a little pricey and can't be rebuilt if one blows!)

Awesome frequency range

Written by: SS from Michigan on September 21, 2011

These speakers are unbelievable. I am able to play from 250 Hz to 20k Hz. This allows for unbelievable imaging. Due to their small size I installed them far forward in the kick panel; thus allowing minimal path length difference in these locations and with the low frequency extension I am able to get imaging characteristics similar to high quality compression drivers on waveguides / horn lenses. The clarity is much better than the compression drivers and power handling is very good. I have ~ 350 watts to each speaker (0 db of gain overlap) resulting in ultra clean clarity. To my surprise they go up to 20 khz and did not need to utilize a separate tweeter.
